Though to be fair to him, he did play in 4 out of the 5 rounds leading up to the Final (which by definition were all wins). So he did contribute to the team's FA Cup success this season - 3 starts, 1 sub, 1 assist, 295 minutes. There have been plenty of players who have received FA Cup winners medals for a lot less (and there are plenty who failed to get one for a lot more in the good old days)

Gaston has never been regular first choice for Uruguay. He has 34 caps, but has only started in 11 of them, and only played the full 90' in 2 of those. We saw potential for an exciting AM who showed up well at the Olympics playing for the U23s.

Its you that's embarrassing, thinking the same as all the deluded Scousers who just don't seem to understand that Liverpool are in long term decline and will not break back into the Top 4 in the foreseeable future, without some radical changes. It may still be a step up to go from Saints to Liverpool, but it is a small step up compared to what Clyne could get by moving to a team on the up or already embedded in the Top 4/CL spots.

How can anyone seriously think Pardew could be manager of THE SEASON? The Season includes his time at Newcastle, not just at Palace. Half a season at Newcastle where he was singularly unsuccessful (though clearly better than Carver). For me, the odious Mourinho is the obvious choice, but otherwise toss up between Koeman and Monk.
