  1. Did it? How do you know, were you there? Clearly something Ralph said was either completely new to Morgan or was completely at odds with what had been discussed if such a discussion took place. Why anyone is so naive as tho think Morgan has just thrown a hissy for no reason at all is beyond me, when it is quite clear that our Chairman said things in public that no professional chairman would have said unless pre-agreed with the player. In the end it may not have made any difference to the result, but there is a way of doing things and Ralph clearly does not know how to go about this type of business. The apologists for the current board have no other view than that it is all the fault of the player. I don't condone what Morgan has done for a moment but it is almost certainly an effect and not the cause. Sadly there is probably no other way out now, and we will not see Morgan play in a Saints shirt again, whether he stays until January or goes before the end of August.
  2. No, and I didn't say that was the case. But he could have avoided Morgan throwing a hissy fit by discussing the situation with him first and/or perhaps not saying outright in public what he did without ensuring that the player knew what he was going to say first. Surely you can't be so naive as to not realise that can you? Why is that people like you who think they know it all cannot accept that sometimes they really have no ****ing idea what they are talking about.
  3. Katharina - accident of birth (inheritance from her father) Ralph - appointment by above with no knowledge/experience of professional football Hofstetter (since departed) -ability to shoot himself in the foot while having his foot in his mouth Your support for our incompetent board is clearly based on sound judgement The only board member who had any idea baout Chambers' abilities was Les Reed, and presumably he was persuaded by the others that it was not a problem letting Calum go.
  4. cormorants = liver birds. "The liver bird is normally represented in the form of a cormorant holding a frond in its mouth"
  5. So clearly he still has all the power. He will not play. Chairman was a total pratt, making a statement like he did without first talking with the player. We now have a situation where we still have a player who will not play, so who has won in this situation? I don't disagree with the idea that Morgan is not for sale and that his contract is such that he cannot leave due to a release clause like some of the others did, and that Saints are perfectly within their rights to say no to his request for a transfer. BUt I do have a problem with a pratt of a director who opens his mouth without engaging brain and causes a situation that otherwise did not need to have occurred.
  6. KL is our 3rd choice keeper? Now I am worried.
  7. If he scores as many as Guly did in his first full season then he will be a star.
  8. Boscombe may not have been as shabby as we thought. Did you see their result today?
  9. Happy clappers.
  10. Pelle og
  11. Got to say thats probably not far off our starting XI for next week, beginning to look a bit better. Add Forster and Florin, and maybe a striker and hopefully Morgan if he can get his head right and thinkgs will look reasonably healthy. Rojo would be a bonus.
  12. It was a friendly anyway, but rules for the U21 League are as you say. Clubs are only allowed to field three outfield players over the age of 21, plus the goalkeeper is also permitted to be over 21
  13. Argie or Brit is not offensive. If you want to be offensive about a Brit call us a Limey. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_ethnic_slurs if you want a list of terms that really are offensive.
  14. Turkish coined the phrase I think, though will probably deny it.
  15. Oh yes he did.
  16. You've heard of cause and effect I assume. Player doesn't suddenly have a "I'm going on strike" moment. There is usually something that leads up to the player making that decision, and usually with employment type issues it is something the employer does or does not do.
  17. You don't have to have 8 HG players. The rule is that you can't have more than 17 non-HG over 21 players. We are currently struggling with a total squad of 18, 11 non HG and 7 HG. Could still bring in 7 more non-HG players and only need 1 more HG to have a squad of 25. In fact we already have 8 but not counting Billy Sharp. Whereas our squad last season was only 21 or 22 IIRC. I really don't think the Home Grown rule will be much of an issue this season for Saints, unless we bring in another 7 foreigners.
  18. Read elsewhere that he "trained with his team-mates this week". Why would he go "on strike" when he needs to get his fitness back if he wants to play for someone else.
  19. Vic's English wasn't an issue, go back and read my response and the post it was referring to. The OP was concerned about who had good English, I said it didn't matter after all Lallana was captain. It was meant to be a funny.
  20. he isn't going anywhere. just that Saints will allow him to leave on a free, if someone comes in for him. Honestly would have been staggered if we were looking for a fee anyway. Strikes me as a "no news" story.
  21. The naive and amateurish media as you put it were only acting in response to the naive and amateurish behaviour of the board of directors. Junior Mullett is correct, you seem to have missed the critical factor though. At least they have gone some way now to putting us on a more professional footing by dispensing with Hofstetter whose foolish utterances were a significant bone to the media dogs. It is difficult to regain faith in the Board when there was never any faith in the first place. Once KL ensured Cortese's position was untenable and she brought in a fool and a hockey coach to take over any faith in the board was impossible. if she was serious about running the Club and not selling then she should have at least ensured that some directors with football and/or relevant business experience were brought in. Still the good thing is that as long as we bring in about another 4 players and results are OK then there will be no discontent. That's what they need to do now to get us back on track. So far I don't think we are too much down on quality, Tadic looks comparable with Lallana, Pelle will probably be better than Lambert would have been this season, Bertrand is as good a LB as Shaw was last season (we have lost potential). Don't know about Saphir but good addition in terms of strength in depth. Sort out a backup GK, CB and striker and we will probably not be any worse than last season, maybe (with a backup keeper) we could even be in a better place marginally. Main issue is we are running out of time for Koeman to make a team out of a bunch of strangers.
  22. Wanyama is captain of his country. Good English is not an issue, after all Lallana was captain. For me its between Fonte, Davis and Morgan.
  23. van Dijk booked for impersonating a cockney
  24. Well, I'm only 59 and still makes him look like a bit of a knob. But then his haircut needs to be covered up by something I suppose. A netball cap does the trick as well as a rounders one from that pov. I guess its what 5 year olds do though, good thing about him only being 5 is that we will not have to wish him a happy birthday or send him a cake during his loan, as he won't be 6 until 2016.
