  1. No but presumably they will arrange friendlies in the weeks when the group stages take place in September, October and November, though I assume these coincide with the pre-arranged international breaks. On the other hand we will probably lose Tadier if he joins.
  2. Sums it up well.
  3. Clearly won't be signing until after Celtic's CL 2nd leg (if at all).
  4. The idea of a global academy is not insane, but the idea that it could be a Southampton brand is I'm afraid a little far-fetched. It is based on the idea that Southampton Saints (ughhh!) Academy is a world-wide phenomenon and would be well understood by fans of the PL, and therein lies the problem. We may have this grandiose idea that the Southampton Academy is the best there is, but in reality as far as the PL is concerned what (or who) has it produced. The only world renowned player is Bale, and he does not play in the PL. Even then most people would (wrongly) associate him with Spuds. Walcott and Chamberlain are hardly world superstars. Shaw? Really has not done anything of note as yet. Lallana, noting of any great note. These are all great products of our Academy, but there is no-one other than Bale who would be talked about out side of England. Whereas ManU for instance could easily point to the Beckham, Giggs, Scholes, etc raft of players who are all household names, and even Liverpool could boast more well known Academy products than us. Unfortunately the only Club that could really sell a global Academy brand would be Barcelona. In the USA Southampton is probably best known for the Titanic rather than any football connection, and many Americans would probably think you were talking about Southampton, New York rather than Southampton, England.
  5. Swap deal for Manuel Neuer
  6. Stars Bilbo Read as he accompanies Thorin Krueger and his fellow dwarves on a quest to retain Premier League status despite the Liver Birds and the Red Devils.
  7. So should it be Le Reed ?
  8. No, franky don't beieve a word the hockey coach said. His comments struck me as a load of bull****, and the follw.up fromMorgan only served to reinforce my view.
  9. Not sure about players but I would have Redkrapp as manager, perhaps with assistance from Poch and Branfoot First player on my list would be Andy Townsend.
  10. Think its petty obvious that Krueger was talking about Morgan in terms that were different than what Morgan had been told privately/had understood. To me it was yet another clear demonstration of the incompetency of Krueger. Morgan had actually handled everything very well before Krueger opened his mouth. Obviously he was asked the question about Morgan and JRod but should have given a vague answer unless this had all been agreed behind the scenes. Clearly was in motor mouth mode and did not think of the consequences of his utterances.
  11. His Americanisms are Canadian.
  12. Has he been signed by Liverpool?
  13. Invest in Nandos, they must be doing a roaring trade In Moanchester.
  14. Let alone an ex-member of the old board.
  15. Yep, 1 out of 1, 100% in 4 years. Or maybe it was 1 out of 2 or 1 out of 3 or 4 or 5. How many did he turn down? Don't know, but even if he only let one go that's 4 less than Kat has let go in the last few weeks.
  16. and then proceeded to prove him right. He should never have left in the first place, but thinking him coming back now would solve anything is wishful thinking. KL has ****ed everything up, she should have sold to Cortese's backers when he wanted her to, no skin off her nose now, but as far as we the supporters are concerned things are now well and truly screwed. We got our club back, but sadly it is a shell now and there is nothing inside except for some nice stripy shirts and a decent manager who must be looking for the nearest exit door. I see he posted a nice pic on Twitter of an empty training ground.
  17. Leave it until the transfer window slams shut at which time there will be nothing to do to short out the problem. Wake up and smell the coffee, faith is one thing, blind faith is quite another. Maybe you will be happy to watch a team be humiliated in the PL and eventually be relegated, but most true supporters are not, and are well and truly ****ed off that we have gone from being a very well run club to a shambles by one fluke of birth. Markus must be turning in his grave. They say you can choose your friends but not your family, illustrated well with what is happening to Saints.
  18. Probably about the least likely scenario one could possibly imagine. The fact is that we have a bunch of amateurs running the Club who have no idea what they are doing and how to operate in the PL, they have made mistake after mistake proving that they have no desire to match the ambition of Markus and Cortese and the players along with the departure of their liked manager have seen the writing on the wall as have many supporters and voted with their feet. It really is quite simple and was likely to happen when someone inherits a business they know nothing about and for which they have no real passion - though I think no-one really expected the level of incompetence being displayed right now.
  19. And you accuse someone else of "not being the brightest". God save us from the lunatics.
  20. Clearly neither, he has been told what to say by the incompetent owner/board. Bloke is being undermined at every juncture, and the owner and faceless directors don't have the bottle to say anything just keep putting their fall guy forward. Really has become completely pathetic that we are now owned by a complete joke and managed with her board of incompetents. I really would not be surprised to see Ron leaving very soon, and I suspect Les may walk as well. At that point you know we are totally screwed.
  21. I'm sure he already knows, its not rocket science. Guess he will also find out soon enough that Pelle is better than Lambert
  22. This. What does Kevin Davies know about what the board is doing? Seriously, it really is some kind of joke when we are told things are OK because a Player who played for us 11 years ago says the Board knows what they are doing. But all the happy clappers pounce on it and lap it up.
  23. Not sure why a westerly wind would be a problem, unless you live in Brighton
  24. Remind me again about the "added bonus of being young and English"? I guess you mean ripe to be sold to top English Club in 12 months for hefty profit after he has had half a good season in the PL.
