  1. Thank you for illustrating and confirming my view that there are a bunch of complete divvies on here. Its perfectly clear to anyone with a couple of brain cells that Les is being undermined by the amateur shambles of a board under our current owner. You really think it is Les who is selling all of our players. Mate, if you think that then I feel very sorry for you. All the members of the first team were perfectly happy to be here when Les was here all the time through the Cortese era with either Adkins or even more so with Pochettino. What has ****ed off the players is KL and the hockey coach and the German faceless one who don't know what they are doing and have pulled the plug on the ambitious plans that were in place. Reed is off around the world trying to sign players for us, to replace the ones that are going/have gone, and he is having a tough task persuading people to come to join a club that is clearly now beginning to look like a sinking ship. I think if Reed were to walk ( and I could understand if he did) that might be the straw to break the camel's back for me. While Les is still around there is a chance that despite the Board rolling over and having their tummy tickled by other Clubs that we can at least get something in to give Ron a chance of at least avoiding relegation.
  2. There are some right divvies on here, Reed is the only board member with a football brain, without him we would be completely screwed.
  3. We've also finished 2nd in the league, won the FA Cup, built sides with exciting players, and in all of that time I have never known a season where we have lost half out starting XI because players do not want to stay. So carry on with your sad outlook on life that nothing more can be achieved and watch a strong, flourishing club be decimated by a poor owner who really couldn't give a monkeys about Southampton and a bunch of amateur "directors" who know nothing about football and watch your club disintegrate. Its OK we'll still be here, and of course we'll be playing stripes so all will be well. Small minded people living in their small minded worlds with no sense of ambition and no positive outlook on life. Carry on.
  4. WE don't know it was not good, all that happened is the nameless German finance director came in opened his mouth and said some stuff which he knew nothing about and made a fool of himself. Finances were clearly not a worry at all, just normal business with a huge amount of TV money to come in. Amateur director made a mountain out of a molehill and has not been seen or heard of again since. Nic was not sacked,he resigned because our heiress did not want to finance his plans and would not sell which would have allowed us to carry on with a committed backer. What is happening is because we have no-one at the helm who knows what they are doing and if it were not for Sir Les things would be in an even bigger mess than they are now, at least we have someone with a football brain still trying to do what is best with one hand tied behind his back.
  5. To use your analogy, which is tasteless, the cancer remains but we are cutting away the rest of the body and throwing it away.
  6. No, unless he is completly insane, and anyway the remark was made before Koeman was appointed.
  7. Being an heiress does not make her a businesswoman. There is no real evidence that she has ever created serious wealth from business off of her own back. Maybe she has, but she has kept it quiet if she did. The accusation often directed at Naughty Nic is that it wasn't his money, well the same can be said about KL. She now has it purely as an accident of birth.
  8. No he did not. He was added to the Board of the MALI Group sometime after Markus' Estate was put into the hands of the trustees, and he did become a director in that sense, but he never managed the MALI Group business in any way, shape or form. If Markus' wealth has been frittered away since his untimely death it would be a tale of catastrophic blunders, I really don't believe there is any mileage in such a thing having happened, indeed the Estate could probably be worth more now with the realisation of some of the assets that would have been sold off. All that has happened is that since KL took full control in 2013 she has realised that she doesn't want to put as much into it as her late father had done (why should she its not her love) but has unfortunately refused to sell to backers that NC had allegedly lined up who were prepared to continue the dream. She is also badly advised about who she appoints to manage the Club in terms of the Hockey coach and the German man of mystery who opened his mouth once to insert his foot and has never been heard of again since.
  9. No they didn't, Markus was reported to be worth ~3.4bn, and this was separate from the Liebherr family.
  10. Its what happens when the club is being run by a bunch of amateurs, poor old Markus must be turning in his grave to see what his daughter has done to the Club, but some on here will still say its OK as KL has the best interests at heart and must be good because she got rid of evil Nic. Well folks this is what happens. Its great having a hockey coach who is a motivational speaker and hasn't been seen or heard of for weeks. KL should have sold the Club to Nic's backers as he wanted and we would not be in the position we are now. Sleep walking into disaster but lets just wait until the season starts as some chumps on here would have us do, we had a minimal sized squad last season and we are now effectively down 5 players already, and who is to say who will be next? Lots of money in the bank though so all will be OK. I feel sorry for Ron, because I think he would be a top manager, but he will be left looking rather silly I'm afraid.
  11. "Southampton have got a great reputation for developing young players – you only have to see what they’ve done with Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw to see that" So Neal, will it be Liverpool or Manure, I think we need to know which team you will be dreaming of when you are between the sticks for the Saints. Good to see though, and nice to know that if does well Torquay will get a bit of a cut, they might need it soon now they are back in the Conference
  12. Left Back in the dressing room and Right Back behind the goal you mean? Boom boom !
  13. We also need to replace Guly, and that just about gets us back to a par with a very thin squad that we ended up with last season. Our whole problem last season was that we had no strength in depth, well guess what it is worse now. WE can have the best first XI in the league and sure as eggs is eggs we will be found out.
  14. We should loan him to Liverpool, that would **** off Judas Lallana and Judas Lovren. In fact he could do us a favour and glasgow kiss them while he is there.
  15. Why not, why should the club be any different to most other businesses?
  16. FFS, dyslexic gaolkeepers need not pally.
  17. Would make us look far more foolish to offer top money first off. Trying to make a bargain is hardly foolish behaviour. Don't see how FF will join us though, its well known that players leave us to get CL football, not the other way round. FF already has CL football, in fact has already played twice this season I believe, against a top club (in Iceland) that must make it all worthwhile. next up Warsaw or St Paddys.
  18. Pre-season, especially friendlies, has been a bit of a joke so far really, Monday we were missing 8 first choice players, let alone any new signings. Partly due to WC, but for other reasons as well, the only good thing is that some other teams are even further behind in their pre-season preps than us. Other than Lambert, Liverhampton had none of their England players back by last Friday, and that's half their team. We were missing Boruc, Lovren, Tadic, Schneiderlin, Wanyama, Davis S, Ramirez and Rodriguez, plus we know we need a new LB and (2nd choice) GK.
  19. Simplistic view of a complex situation. If this were the only reason then all decent players would have gone. Why is it that some players do not leave even when they could? Players look to leave when they are unsettled. But of you want to carry on with this simple view of how football works fine, simple views for simple minds I guess.
  20. Most English players are semi-literate
  21. Sorry, it had to done, I was at the O2 when I posted. Still, as they say, always look on the bright side of life, unless you're a Saints supporter.
  22. Sanitation, or was thst the Romans?
  23. Apart from the clanger of saying headlines instead of headlights, perfectly reasonable post/question. The invisible man
  24. No, think he meant Agustin.
  25. 26, just, getting on a bit. FFS. I know policemen are looking younger these days but writing a 26 year old off as getting on a bit takes the biscuit.
