Good post. Yoshida hardly put a foot wrong yesterday, other than a couple of poor cross-field passes in the first half that could have been punished, but weren't. It really is amazing how some people on here were blaming him for the first goal, you really wonder whether some people actually watch the game or know what Yoshida looks like. Its worth remembering as well that he has hardly played since about March when he was injured apart from 3 games in the World Cup. He was a bit rusty and it showed early on with those passes, but thats all. Much like Morgan was a bit rusty and off the pace and made a couple of mistakes that normally he would not make. Davis' chance was poorly taken, but he did work the keeper and you could see what he was trying to do, i.e. place the shot, again perhaps some rustiness and a reluctance to shoot from range being a hangover from the Poch era, he should have just leathered it and Mignolet would not have stood a chance.

No, did Yoshida directly contribute to either of the goals, no? So there is no basis on which Lovren instead of Yoshida would have made any difference, unles you think he may have scored for us from a set piece. he may have done, but statistically how often does the same (defender) score in the same (away) fixture two seasons running. I'm sure MLG will be along to tell us the answer.

NOt overly excited by the prospect, and certainly not if its part of a deal for Morgan, which is how it sounds, but if we could get him and keep Morgs then it is probably a decent deal.

I know its about opinions, but I don't know how you can even mention Yoshida with regard to their first goal. The ball from Henderson was threaded through between Fonte and a fast-retreating Clyne. If Yoshida had been anywhere near that ball then he would have been sacked by the manager for gross incompetence, he was doing his job over the other side of the pitch. Sadly it was a great ball but ultimately it had been the result of a foul on Tadic and a poor attempt at a tackle by Schneiderlin (one that had he been fully fit would have been easy meat for Morgan). Yoshida did make two awful passes in the first half although in both cases we got away with them, but no way was he in any way at fault for their first. Watch the links again.

Agreed, combined with the Sky interview which seemed to contains some of the same stuff but also some different stuff, he was clearly upset with what went on BEFORE he left and from the Sky one clearly with the people that KL had brought in (so definitely not Les Reed). Seemed genuinely distressed about what happened. I guess with SRL as opposed to the scumbags who left later, the problem arose from the fact that we were ready to offload him back in January, and would probably have done so if Osvaldo had not attacked Jose and made it impossible for him (Osvaldo) to stay, and thus make Rickie indispensable. I'm afraid that what happened to SRL is closely associated with KL and what happened with her new people and the departure of Cortese.

Very true, from post #1 not a sensible post to be seen, just the usual abuse from you about one of our players who was not even involved today. Nothing sensible from you about how we played, about the performances of the team, about how some players didn't perhaps play too well, just abuse and lack of sense. Still we should be used to it by now I guess. The forum would not be the same without you would it?
