  1. Yep, seems quite simple to me, they have offered 25m and say they will move on to their next transfer target if we do not accept. So just turn it down, and if they are true to their word they will do one. 25m is really not enough, especially given the Bompey clause, if Bale is worth 100m then Lallana is worth 40-50.
  2. Oh dear, I'm feeling a bit nauseous.
  3. The plan seems to be coming together nicely. Osvaldo's deal is that all of the players he upset when he nutted Jose will be sold so that Dani can come back in glory and save Southampton Saints from looking like a laughing stock. Poch has already been shown the door along with all of the coaches who made Dani's life so hard by making him train. Lambert going to Liverpool, Lallana as well and Shaw off to Manure. That just leaves Fonte, and he can go to Hell, sorry Hull. All of the other guys are cool about Jonny Depp returning, Jos thinks he's a nice guy and Artur is OK as he will get his smoking mate back. Welcome back Dani, full pre-season with no world cup commitments and you will be raring to go.
  4. Gazzanigga, Osvaldo, Les Reed........
  5. Woy is out of the running because the Krueger plan is to have new manager installed BEFORE the WC.
  6. No she hasn't, stop peddling this myth. She has only been in charge since last summer. From the time ML died the club was owned and run by the Trustees and Executors of the Markus Liebherr Estate. She may or may not have been a trustee or an executor, but she was certainly not the only person to make up that Group. She may have had some say before last summer but she certainly did not have complete control of the Club, and it seems pretty clear that in fact she had no control at all. This only came to a head when the probate process concluded and she inherited the club which appears to have been at some point in mid 2013. Only then did the issues with NC start, when it became clear that she did not wish to continue with the level of investment that her lamented late father had agreed with Cortese.
  7. Because he knew the Saints were in for him. In all honesty what makes him so great? He really hasn't done anything of note except beat Chelski home and away. Guess he is only being linked because he is Swiss.
  8. No chance. Levy has already stated he wants his new manager to work with and develop the existing players. I suspect the transfer kitty itself is relatively small, if it exists at all. That said, perhaps he would like to take Johnny Depp with him. 20 mill and Spuds could have him with our blessing. They would be getting what they deserve.
  9. This. She only became the owner last year. Prior to that the Club and following the sad death of Markus the club was owned and run by the Trustees and Estate of Markus Liebherr, that is not the same thing. She may have put money in last summer, that is open to conjecture. Swiss inheritance law is complex and it takes a long time before the probate process is completed and ownership is passed. I even suspect that Cortese was one of the trustees, but of that I cannot be sure. KL also wanted to keep Cortese, something else that is clear, but on her terms which were not what Cortese wanted.
  10. I guess Ralph is looking for a new point man and a couple of defencemen, this will help during our power plays next season. A good backup goal minder would be useful as well.
  11. Are Shilton and Keegan the only other Saints players to have won a European Cup winners medal (albeit before they joined us)?
  12. I particularly like this bit: "Ten years ago, there was a top four in the shape of Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool."
  13. Looks pretty much like Woys's starting XI have 1-11.
  14. Well, local lad at least, born on the Isle of Wight. Might be some issues with his fitness regime.
  15. That was about Rod's less well known brother Ron.
  16. Guess that means that as Serie A has now finished he will be winging his way back to Southampton to meet up with his mates at Marchwood or St Mary's. He should get a warm welcome, from everyone there. Or does it mean he will go away somewhere and have a nice holiday first. Either way, the Club has some work to do now, either getting shot or re-integrating him into the squad.
  17. Last I heard they were Swiss. Hence the huge Swiss flag. So its not just Journos who don't know what they are talking about. They were from Germany originally, but I think KL was born in Switzerland.
  18. Pity they weren't playing in the red and white stripes of Southampton, but well done to Los Rojiblancos.
  19. She could not have sold when Markus died, as she did not own the Club. The trustees and estate Of Markus still owned the Club less than 12 months ago, she has only inherited and become the owner since then, and not sure exactly when it was after that. I don't think she was even the owner at the start of the season, so would not have had that much say in the money that was spent last pre-season (Wanyama, Lovren and Johnny Depp). So I don't go with this notion that she has pumped millions of her own money into the club (as yet). Not saying she would not have been involved in the decisions, but it would not have been her sole decision to have made. In fact I suspect she has not spent much on the club at all since she took sole charge. Therefore have to wait and see what she actually does before passing judgement. Not knocking her and not praising her, will be judged on her actions.
  20. He never got stick from Saints fans, only from ignorant ****s. Great character, much liked by his fellow players and altogether nice bloke who did a lot for us. By the way, looking back the sash kit really was brilliant, I almost think I would prefer to go back to that than to the stripes.
  21. Who are these posters? Or is this another forum legend? Never read anyone claiming this. Whatever happened to the Cult of Cortese? He was spending Markus' money, presumably as agreed with Markus before his untimely death. Once KL finally inherited the company last year (not as many erroneously think immediately after he died) she would have known what he was spending and presumably did not like it too much. But in the end, he was only doing what his friend and business partner wanted him to do. Don't know whether it was good or bad, but so far the current board have not demonstrated any real desire to move forward and neither have they sold any players ot done anything particularly wrong. I would suggest it is the OP who is spouting nonsense, not least an inability to realise that the club was owned by Markus and now by KL, nothing to do with the wider family "the Liebherrs". Once we have some facts and something actually happens then perhaps we can judge.
  22. I thought they included Super Mario, 99% chance of damaging squad harmony, but I guess also high percent chance of contributing to the team as well.
  23. It is correct to say she inherited the club, but it is not correct that she has put tens of millions and was certainly not involved in the rise from L1. When Markus sadly died, she did not immediately take over the reigns, there was a long drawn out process where the club was owned by the Markus Liebherr Estate. It is only relatively recently that she has taken over fully, probably tail end of last year about the time when NC allegedly handed in his notice. That is why he appeared to have free reign on the finances until that time. So in my view KL has not invested any of her money YET. Will she? Hard to say, but the signs are not good that she will invest to the same level that Markus originally envisaged or that NC was doing with the Estate money. She is clearly not looking to sell, otherwise she would already have done so, to NC and his "backers". Whether that is good or bad is open to debate and we will see what happens. She has my support, but only so far in as much as there is no other option, but I'm singularly unimpressed so far by the actions that she and the board have taken so far, which amount to diddly squat.
  24. You and I were discussing this the other day but I ran out of posts. I was checking and I think it was in the Telegraph back in January that quoted that she had inherited Markus' (note, nothing to do with the Liebherr family) 3bn fortune. I don't recall whether it was GBP or CH Farncs (?) or euros or Turkish Lire, but my point is that the 3bn is nothing to do with the family, it was Markus' personal fortune, which is what i thought was quited when he took over and we were being quoted as something like the 4th richest club in England. i don't believe it is populist attribution, i think it is based on real financial data. Whether that fortune increased or decreased following Markus' untimely demise or not I have no idea, and what the result of the winding up of MALI was again i don't know, but pretty sure that she is/was worth something like 3bn somethings The only other reason i can think if she is not is if the fortune was shared with others rather than just to KL, which I guess is perfectly possible.
  25. Bu Buy some English lessons for our supporters I think some people need to understand what the word "bid" means and also understand that in all likelihood no-one has even made a bid as yet for anyone. After Sunday's game I tend to think Shaw may be off and Adz is not. But would be surprised if Shaw goes to Manure after the treatment he (deservedly) dished out to the little **** Janusez (sp). Can't see them being the best of team mates.
