  1. So at 3.29 genuine footage of Osvaldo. Maybe what followed the head butt was the problem on Wednesday.
  2. Also takes a mean penalty, Puncheon-esque. How anyone can claim welbeck is a good finisher is beyond me. 2 goals in 40 last season for United, OK a bit better this year but he is a poor finisher, but may improve. he does have some good qualities though, his build up play is good but finishing, I think you're having a laugh.
  3. 9 out of 10 of our top money signings now unavailable, Ramirez, Osvaldo, Wanyama, Lovren, Delap, Phillips, Mayuka, Prutton and Forren. Think Delgado should be in there somewhere as well, I guess he has a bad knee. Only J-Rod (5th) available for this weekend.
  4. Luis Suarez, Liverpool first season 2010-11 13 games, 4 goals Dani Osvaldo, Southampton first season 2013-14 12 games, 3 goals If Dani can go on to score 75% of the number of goas Suarez has in the next 3 seasons I will be well chuffed. I think that would be 51 goals approx. By the way "our adoring fans" will likely cheer loudly when he makes his next appearance as they do for Gaston. Its only some on here who think that some players will not be supported by the supporters at the matches, most of whom don't give a feck about what goes on off the pitch.
  5. He's not at your club, he plays for Saints (occassionally) not the Skates or the Cherries or whoever it is you support.
  6. Made by the same people in the same sweat shops in the Far East as Adidas (or any other kit manufacturer). They even used to have Adidas stripes, strange that. Think people imagined we employed a bunch of ladies who sewed them together at St Mary's.
  7. Yet another loan. Still another year and a half on his contract with us (based on him signing for 3.5 years 2 years ago). He must be on very good terms with us, because it seems we are unable to sell him at anyone. Wish him well with Donny, seems he will be back with us again for another season yet.
  8. David, is Sweden a year behind us here in England? Jos is 30, going on 31, Aaron is 24, think you need to update your reference material :-) I think AM making it in the PL is stretching it a bit, but you never know as back up for Fonte if he gets back to his best, or rather that he has improved on his best, which with age and experience is not completely far-fetched.
  9. Hasn't played much, actually hasn't played at all until last night because he has been injured since last season. This was his comeback game. Agreed he is probably not good enough for the PL, ut then neither is Jos any more, but AM was perfectly well good enough at the Championship level, bearing in mind he was playing for a Top 2 team at the time, could easily fit in to an avearge Champ side, and with age on his side (24 is young for a CB, 2 months younger than Lovren) he could improve a deal yet, but perhaps fair to say not for us. Wish him well though; Good to see another Islander in pro football, whatever level.
  10. So why would she have felt at home? Some folks still don't seem to have grasped, Markus and his daughter have nothing to do with the Liebherr engineering company (the one that makes cranes, fridges etc). Nothing, other than it is owned by Markus' brother and sister. KL is not part of that business AFAIK, and neither was Markus since he sold all of his shares years ago before starting his own business (MALI), and even his business now no longer exists to all intents and purposes. Did KL have a business career of her own before she inherited her father's "empire"? It might be interesting to know what her own background is, to know whether she has any particular business acumen/skills which she can bring to the table, but I don't think she is connected in any way to Liebherr or even to MALI (other than overseeing its demise).
  11. What a strange comment. Slight difference between the role of Honorary President and Chief Executive Officer, wouldn't you say? The word "Honarary" is perhaps the clue as to the differences in the size, complexity and stress levels of the two roles. You do realise that Painer really has no official duties in terms of running the business or even the club. As I said only slight concern would be his age, near retirement age, old git, even older than me (not by a lot though) unlikely to be a go-getting dynamic CEO with fresh ideas, but who knows.
  12. 1974. He is 64 though, only small concern.
  13. We were 8th today until Sunderland equalised. Newcastle only had to play Wet Sham so easy 3 points for them today, of course they are catchable.
  14. Clearly touches it with his toe first, though it is irrelevant. Those who don't see the touch really need to go to Specsavers or become PL referees
  15. You haven't been in England for a while, I had forgotten that the sky is blue.
  16. No sign of Kelvin the training pictures
  17. 5pm, Nando's, West Quay. Luke will therefore be unwell tomorrow.
  18. Trousers, I think that is right, and MALI effectively no longer exists. Only one of the constituent parts is still trading, all the others were closed AFAIK. KL resigned from the MALI-Motan group last Autumn apparently (at the same time as NC). Did KL have other business interests of her own that were nothing to do with Markus? Maybe, would be good to know because there is nothing out there on the interweb that says one way or another. Maybe still some people think she is something to do with the main Liebherr business, which she isn't. There is a lot of crap written, not least by the Echo that I jsu found about her being part of the massive Liebherr empire, people putting 2 and 2 together and making multi billions. Markus was not part of that empire, he sold his stake in it many years ago and went his own way.
  19. Short term: By the end of the season he could be the 3rd longest serving PL manager. In football the end of the season could be considered the medium or even the long term.
  20. The stripes will return, they will be blue and white and we will be re-branded the Southampton Skates. Careful what you wish for.
  21. Seems very odd the so many are stating this as if its a given, when in fact the reports are that this has happened because she refused to sell the club (presumably to an alternative buyer that NC had identified). I don't actually believe that she has any intention of selling the club, but that's just my view. This is really bad news, non-exec chairwoman who has no interest in and little understanding of football in search for new Exec. NC's ambition clearly exceeds KL's ambition, now we will be limited in what we can do. Doing this in the middle of the transfer window as well, idiocy. Still at least this will see the demise of the Cult of Cortese. I guess some of our friendly trolls will be along soon to say "I told you so, I was right all along". Oh joy.

  23. Predictable that you would come on this thread and gloat. Of course you are bang on the money again, you really are a fecking bore and your scatter gun approach reaps its rewards once more. Nothing to do with the fact that perhaps his injury has had an effect on his physical condition and has not been able to reproduce the form he showed briefly when he arrived. It happens to players, there are many many examples. No one ever said he was going to be a massive player, or a global superstar simply that he gave the appearance of someone who would do well in the PL. We will never know due to his injuries, but at least he was interesting for a while, provided some good moments, goal of the season against Derby and a couple of helpful assists. But of course you wouldn't recognise that would you? Crawl back under your bridge.
  24. Actually it isn't a fallacy. It is one of the main defences against defamation. At least in England & Wales. You may be getting mixed up with privacy laws. But the defendant in a criminal case would have to prove the statement was true. Allowable defenses are justification (the truth of the statement), fair comment (whether the statement was a view that a reasonable person could have held), absolute privilege (whether the statements were made in Parliament or in court, or whether they were fair reports of allegations in the public interest) and qualified privilege (where it is thought that the freedom of expression outweighs the protection of reputation, but not to the degree of granting absolute immunity). An offer of amends is a barrier to litigation. A defamatory statement is presumed to be false unless the defendant can prove its truth
