  1. Yesterday the squad was on the OS, today it seems to have mysteriously disappeared. Anyway when it was there it seemed to suggest that Thomas and Wotton would be playing which would bump the average age up a bit. I reckon Surman is getting worried that he maybe considered too old for the team...
  2. I think this is a gross insult to halfwits
  3. No changes unless unavoidable, that must be Jan's mantra. We know Killer will be rested. Whether Cork will replace him or remain at RB where he finished the Derby gameand bring Wotton in is the only decision Jan should have to make. If Holmes is injured then bring in Dyer (there is no case for Skacel yet).
  4. About 2/1 for Saints, 11/10 Brum or http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/?page_id=10443
  5. usual crap from the Skate troll. As usual he is just about the only person to mention class. No-one gives a toss about class. The dislike of Lowe has nothing to do with class, there are much better reasons to dislike the arrogant tosser than old fashioned class issues
  6. That all sounds very familiar...
  7. They did? What vote was that exactly? Who voted him out and then wanted to vote him back in? No-one ever voted Lowe out, and no-one voted him back in.
  8. He took a huge risk, and I really don't believe that JP and Wotte are together significantly cheaper than NP, that was just spin to help explain an unpleasant (but necessary from Lowe's pov) action. So far JP has won one league game. I am liking the guy, but its rather early days to say he is significantly better than NP who inherited a completely dispirited and unfit team from Burley and Dodd/Gorman and took some time to take it out of freefall. Take a look at the League One table, early days again I know, but 7 points from 9 for a dispirited Leicester is a reasonable start. NP and JP are clearly very different animals, each with their own strengths and weaknesses. The similarity though is that both are very good with young players and both I believe would have been good candidates to work with the team in current circumstances.
  9. Goodish report, shame they got the goal scorer wrong though...
  10. The problem with Lowe is that he always made some good decisions, but he has more than balanced that with some truly appalling decisions, and of course lead us to relegation. His problem is and always has been lack of investment, along with his smugness alienation of the supporter base. I will give credit to Lowe for appointing JP who I have grown to like, on the other hand I think it was disgusting the way he treated Pearson, who I also liked very much. The day whe Lowe and especially Wilde (and Crouch) have nothing more to do with this Club cannot come soon enough for me, but that doesn't have to mean getting rid of JP, I really believe this guy could work wonders if he actually had some funds as well. Still at the end of the day we have currently won 1 league match against a team that has not won for almost a year, lets not get carried away just yet.
  11. Doubtful, why would he suddenly turn bad after all the seasons and seasons of success he has had. The only blot on his copy book is his time at Saints, and even then he was one of our most successful managers. Luggy is a very good manager and CCC and below levels, Plymouth though are currently a very poor side and he will have to rebuild, but I would back him to do so successfully.
  12. No, not until we get some proper full backs... But another striker would help, preferably someone with some height and pace, to give us a different option when needed
  13. I would welcome a takeover, but really don't want Shearer in charge in any event. As soon as Keegan gets the push at Newcastle all the stories linking Shearer to Newcastle will start and we will be ****ed up again, even if he does not take it. If Fulthorpe comes in he should see what JP is doing with no funds, and give him the chance to take it further WITH funds. Apart from that the sooner we can be rid of Lowe and Wilde the better, as long as we have proper funding.
  14. Lallana scored, McG agreed, it was already over the line, McG just followed up to make sure as all good strikers should do. It will be credited to Lallana whatever Sky or the BBC say.
  15. McG isn't claimimg it. Lallana was interviewed on radio afterwards and stated that McG agreed it was Lallana's goal, but well done to McG for following up to make sure...
  16. They've gone down the pub with all those that wanted Chris Coleman...
  17. But Armstrong mentioned it again later and said it was very close to something happening...I'll tune in on Friday. I really don't think Dave Armstrong would be saying such things unless he was very certain that something was actually going on, sounds like someone very close to Armstrong involved.
  18. Which mong was you then Delldays?
  19. Dave Armstrong says it was definitely Lallana that scored, Cope just agrees with him.
  20. This thing about Drew having no pace. I confess that I have not seen him this season yet, is it still the case? Under Burley he was clearly unfit and was awfully slow, was just wondering from anyone who has seen him this season whether he looks fitter and faster.
  21. Clearly not confirmed, but if so we are buying him so he is close to his Mum. FFS. Is he another in the same mould as Clinton Morrison, a real mummy's boy.
  22. Well he clearly knows 10/11 which is damn close to knowing your best team. If this had been Burley we would have seen 5 or 6 changes. He is clearly just trying to get 1 place sorted out. I am warming to the guy and very impressed that he clearly has in his mind what is his best team, but has several options for the 11th spot and is experimenting to find the optimum. At least he has realised that BWP is not an option at present...
  23. The squad on the OS cannot be correct, surely. Why would we only have 16 players in the squad, including 3 keepers. Matchday squads are usually 18 or 19 players, unless we are saving money by hiring a 16 seater coach
  24. Who is JVP? Otherwise I agree. Burley was so negative, thank God Scotland made the mistake of taking him off our hands...
  25. Damn, I was hoping he could, then it would be like playing against 10 men. We could have fielded a stunned slug and it could have marked him with ease.
