But what if none of the candidates were suitable or available? What then? There is not an infinite pool of talent out there that is better than we have else I’m sure we would have done something about it. After all it’s more than obvious we have been looking.

You would hope so but what if there isn’t? And a bright prospect doesn’t always mean they are the next Broja (who imho we got lucky with) when push comes to shove.

But it’s not a normal season is it? I don’t think anyone is arguing that we don’t need one - we do but if, we are paying big money then it needs to be the right one (who may not be available right now - if they were I’m sure we would be at the table now). If it’s a loan then I’m assuming they need to be better than what we have now else why bother?
