  1. I vote we un-ban Barry as his complete and utter meltdown would be the only good thing to come out of this thinking of getting me boots and heading down to Staplewood
  2. I agree with Blackmore in this case, you don't sell 4/5 first time players I'm rapid succession with rumours abounding about others and don't make some sort of statement to fans. Can only hope there are 1 or 2 new in this week
  3. JoeShmoe

    Koeman

If that did happen the reaction on here would be worth seeing on its own! Oh, and we'd be fcked
  4. It's not our club that's a joke, it's football as a whole, you have 5 clubs in the country spending 10 times more on wages than any of the others and lower league clubs hitting the wall. Meanwhile the national team is woeful. However the media are all happy. This is what's wrong with football, the sport as a whole is going to rat s.hit and we are just having to do the best we can as a club out of it
  5. The forum reaches a new low......
  6. If we were asset stripping why would the club have held out for what, quite frankly, is silly money for Lallana (cost more than Kroos and now injured)' Shaw (30m for an 18yo LB), Lovren (Lpool most expensive defender ever), Chambers (16m for 2nd choice RB). Quite clearly we could have sold all of those for a lot less but have played hardball and got offers no club our size (in the world) could turn down.
  7. This, exactly as in years gone past lets see where we are come the start of the season. Guan has said were in for 4-5 players, RK has said one is close If in 3 weeks time we have Forster, Van Djik, Vlaar/DeVrij, Clasie , Ings and Redmond the whole story will be very different, plus of course the next crop of young lads If in that time we've sold Chambers, MS and others are being linked with no replacements than we really are in trouble
  8. Hope that's true, don't rate any of our CBS without Lovren and 2 new ones are a must have, are we getting closer to any?
  9. Can't watch as out, what's the formation and how does Targett look? Is he capable to step up do we think?
  10. This would be superb but you know it wont happen, interesting that clubs like West Ham seem to get their business done quickly and quietly whilst ours take forever
  11. It's not just wages, it's champs league and all that brings
  12. This happens in every league in Europe, it's even worse in say Germany or Scotland where only one team can win it. The same happened in NFL years ago and all the fans switched off, the administrators realised this and introduced limits on yearly team expenditure and now you have a more open competition year on year. Look at they way the lower leagues and grass roots are treated. The game in this country and media support is all about 5 or 6 teams and the rest make up the numbers What will eventually happen is the European super league, money will make it happen
  13. If Barkley and Stones have good seasons for Everton, who thinks they will keep them. If Eriksen has a great season for Spurs who thinks they will keep him, if De Jong is great for Newcastle etc etc etc. football had a hierarchy with only 3 or 4 teams at the top, get used to it until football brings in a salary cap
  14. This, as I see it, save for Lambert, the board have tried their best to keep these players but you can't stop them wanting to go play for bigger clubs, in better competitions on a lot more money. Every one of you bed wetters would do the same What they do need to have done is realised which ones wanted away and been working on suitable replacements. They have done this with Tadic and Pelle and likely see Targett as Shaws replacement. They have known Lovren wanted away since may so I do hope they have a decent CB lined up ( or several) since we cannot go into the season with Fonte, Yoshida and Jos as the CB's To get 50m for lambert, Lallana and Lovren is truly pulling Liverpool's pants down, make no mistake
  15. Good, one good bit of business they could have done and they can't do it. Serves the precious luvvies right
  16. Did this thread use to be about transfers ?
  17. The 'Big Show, on a huge wage no doubt, has been properly ****
  18. Thanks for that, great feedback, i hope he plays against Leverkeusen - get a view on him there I saw Fox a few times live at the start of last year (i.e. Swansea), he was god awful and we were still winning, so cant imagine Targett is worse and we cant give him a run of games to settle in
  19. Sadly no one in the west, can and will do anything about Russia, they will make noises about sanctions etc but with China already having come out warning against blaming Moscow it will only be a load of empty rhetoric as usual
  20. Any news on any of the sensitive deals Guan, no names but is progress being made do you know. (A picture of an weird animal I will take as a yes !)
  21. He looks a lot more physically developed than last season, what will be really interesting to to see him up against better oppo in pre season as that will go a long way to telling us if the club do see him as a starting LB
  22. If Arsenal can get a couple of decent strikers (Remy, Bony etc) and some full backs they ought to be challenging for the title next season
  23. Looking at #lfc, most of their fans seem to realise that too Arsenal, City and Chelsea will be in top 3 and depends how will ManU strengthen as to whether Liverpool go back down to 5th where they belong
  24. Swap Robertson for Amero and we've cleaned up there, we'd have a better team than when we finished last season with more strength in depth provided we kept the rest. Add Redmond and maybe Caulker and Happy days
  25. Thanks Monk, I would guess Ings and Ruddy are two, but if we have set our sights away from Pelle be interesting to see if that means we are looking at other strikers. Suspect RK is working hard trying to get in who he wants
