If we did get Vlaar we'd be playing a 3-5-2 and a pretty decent one at that with depth

Have to say my view is he's a decent squad player but he is behind, MS, VW, Taider and probably Davis/JWP in that midfield 3/5 RK wants to play. There's also the academy lads like Reed I said last year he is frustrating because he always passes sideways, never gets forward and has no goal threat. If we get 3/4m for a player in last year of his contract that's good business

Question for you. Genuine. Why isnt the Liverpool academy producing kids ready to step into the first team. Save Flannagan and maybe Kelly (neither of whom will play much this year) where are the next Gerrards and Carraghers? Everton seem to be able to find them? Do you have no young players knocking on the door or just signings, foreigners etc? Dont get me wrong i admire Liverpool for at least trying to field English players but youre academy isnt actually a roaring success is it (or is it?)
