  1. Really GS? All those form guide threads , I'd never have guessed
  2. Unfortunately the 1-3 bit of that 1-3-3-1-3 would concede 6 goals a game
  3. give it a week before 'Heisenberg' is creating 4 threads a day
  4. Every bugle dealer south of London would move to Southampton, can just see it now, big old Diego marching sweatily up and down the touchline constantly disappearing down the tunnel for a few minutes. What could possibly go wrong
  5. If it was just those three and we brought in say 70m then is that really bad business? We could get a decent LB (or play Clyne there), a top notch or young AM (Shaqiri, Will Hughes), a striker and a CB. Pick up a decent CM as back up. It needn't be the end of the world. Plus of course whoever we bring as manager (Yakin for example) may be very aware of his own list of players. Raiding Basel wouldn't be all bad, they have some terrific players
  6. Do we get compensation? Or as he's resigned we're not entitled ?
  7. Dont we have some academy tie up with Ajax? At they very least our EPPP academy setup mirrors to some degree what they have at Ajax so if he's bought into that philosophy we ought to be attractive to him with how we have been bringing on young players. Still think he would be after a bigger club than us though
  8. Because Pochettino had no experience of the PL and he was shocking As was Pellegrini Etc etc
  9. I laugh at mugs who still think that professional sportsmen are still expected to show some kind of loyalty to a fan base. They won't and never will. It's a business (as they say in the NFL) , players, managers, media, everyone treats it as a business and cest la vie. Poch came here, did a very good job, bought some good players, improved those we had and brought on some of the younger ones like Shaw, Chambers and Gallagher. He's moved on to better his career (maybe) and so likely will Shaw and Adam both of whom are good enough to play at the top level in the CL. We are where we are in the scheme of things (along with 10-15 other clubs) so let's hope whoever comes in continues the good work Poch started and we have another top 10 finish next season Personally I wish him well as I do all the players who've played for us or managers who've coached us We were in administration a few years back looking for Paul Allens yacht and Barry the Briefcase so let's face it we've had it a LOT worse than this
  10. This, this and thrice this Yakin seems like its a perfect fit and hopefully the players see that as well. In my view it's imperative the board move quickly as agents will be all over the players and it gives a new manager lots of time to look at players during the WC and on film if he's not seen them before (I.e championship, etc)
  11. If he's available he's get my vote
  12. yep, daily post count slowly ramping up...
  13. Welcome back Glasgow
  14. If that was our team we would still have about 80m in the bank from player sales so I'd sincerely hope some had been reinvested in more than Caulker and Cresswell.
  15. So like every other PL club outside the top 6 then? Mark me up for quite happily being a mid table PL club bringing through young English players, playing attractive football and well liked / respected by nearly every other club
  16. I'd give the job to Moyes if we had a choice, knows how to run a PL team on limited funds which sadly i think is where we are going...
  17. Jason Burt @JBurtTelegraph As per @John__Percy story on Telegraph Sport website I think Pochettino to #thfc is pretty much a done deal...
  18. Let's just resolve this one way or the other, personally I think the deal with Spurs is done or very close, but if so we move on. COYS
  19. what we need is more twitter mongs posting any old s**t so people can get their cacks in a twist on Fri afternoon yep, thats definitely what we need sigh
  20. Have to agree, in the away games when VW was out when we fell apart second half (Spurs, Sunderland, Chelsea etc) he was outmuscled and out of position - think he needs to bulk up and and a bit of bite/strength if he really wants to be a PL CM
  21. Has anyone actually considered the fact that Dodd wasn't very good at his job? Given the level of our young players I can see how they could have expected better results and perhaps Poch wants someone who can better follow his philosophy so these guys are better equipped to step up
  22. All not sunny in the camp it seems. My pessimist half wonders if this is the first screw coming loose in the wheels falling off the optimistic one says at least Shaw is still bothered
  23. By all accounts a decent lad too
  24. Permanent ban?
  25. He's one of these peeps who posts 18 hours a day on a t'internet message board. He'll be on his summer hols and back furiously spamming every thread exactly 14 days from his last post. Bless 'im
