Was going to ask about Targett, think he could make the step up next season if Shaw moves on?
-
In this day and age I don't think you could or should stop players moving to bigger clubs playing in the Champions League. You would do the same in their position, chance to earn a lot more money, play at a higher level and cement an international place I think personally Lallana will have a very good WC and will be in demand across Europe, and good luck to him if he goes. Saints will seriously struggle to replace him (and before someone says it, Ramirez is no where near as good)

Post Match Reaction: Crystal Palace 0-1 SAINTS

Professional away performance, over the 40 points, VW getting game time - aside from Corks injury a very good day -
Best open the post game thread GS, good 5 mins to go
-
Look in total control to me, very professional away performance Not sure what people expect
-
it was true to be fair, we've all done that though!

Realpolitik will of course win out in all of this. Maybe it will bring into sharp focus the fallacy of the West continuing to operate in disarming mode
-
The west will huff and puff but they wont actually do anything, they're a paper tiger. The real issue will be if and when Russia tries to take the other states in Eastern Ukraine, and if/when Ukranian troops and civilians start dying

Do we need a new centre back or could Chambers play there?
JoeShmoe replied to Dazza82's topic in The Saints
If you think Lescott is a lot better than Fonte this only serves to reinforce my view of how much you really understand football -
Said this before but I wouldn't imbed betting that Clyne starts at LB next season when Shaw goes. If Chambers keeps going into next season he will be in the same position as Shaw I reckon this time next year with big clubs sniffing around. Saying that I thought Glen Johnson looked pretty good yesterday

Completely agree, when Gallagher played the first half vs Arsenal you could see how his movement opened up gaps for other players. We're desperate for a mobile striker who can pull defenders about. Lambert decline since about November has been really sharp, he literally just lumbers about now, no doubt he still has the vision and the technique but he's a passenger. I normally defend Pochettino but he needs to give young Sam a few more starts and the club needs to make a striker a priority this summer
-
Is this Barry's second account? Someone else to press the ignore button for
-
Is Lambert unfit, he honestly looks dreadful, id seriously think about Gallagher second half as you can easily make runs between their CB's, there's a lot of space there
-
The response to the goal has been excellent, the usual moan brigade out in force, i think, Lambert aside, we've been really good
-
The movement of their front two is electric, no one can live with it just now, contrast to our movement up front which is slow and ponderous, Lambert has been a total non factor so far
-
The other problem is every team in the EPL, bar Liverpool & Man City, is going to be after a 'top' striker this summer, going to be a sellers market. I still think Ings is the way to go and try to bring Gallagher on, unless we can get lucky and hit on a foreign striker but with the uncertainty around the club this summer you worry quite how much transfer dealing is going to happen
-
I'd like to see Gallagher start at home next week, think we need his mobility and I can't see SRL playing much next season so be a good time to give the young lad some experience
-
I think Lambert sadly is as good as finished, age has caught up with him. A few of us have said since before xmas that his lack of mobility is killing us. Would really like to see Gallagher get a few games. Gaston was good though. You have to wonder if the players have mentally switched off, much like Swansea did last year

The best threads I remember we're the takeover ones with the ITKs, Saint David, Barry Breifcase and Paul Allen's yacht. 'Twas comedy gold that went on all summer

This, 100%. Were 8th in the league, playing the best football for 15 odd years with the most exciting young squad of players we've ever had and a top young manager. So he got it wrong on Sat and we lost and we're all annoyed about it/cant understand it - but all the bedwetters saying seasons over, dont care less etc please do us all a favour and feck off because you're utter plastics

The club is no longer run FOR the fans...............

This, get over it and move on, getting boring now -
Meh. Been with friends all afternoon, perspective is everything. Boys were saying FA Cup is finished and it simply isn't the competition we all grew up remembering. To the foreign managers in the league it just isn't important, and when you see Melunsteen get sacked after 75 days can you blame them? The premier league has done many things for football in this country, but the old cup competitions and the international team have suffered massively. I couldn't tell you who won the FA cup three years ago but I could tell you who won the Champs League We're just part of a degrading of the competition, sad because the fans and the English players obviously still have that desire but in 5-10 years it will be an anachronism unless something changes
