Does Rickie Lambert score penalties?
-
I'd do anything to get to any game - does that make me a super proper fan, Turkish? I need validation.
-
Absolutely. Loved how he was p****d off with the players for being down after P*mpey as well - said something along the lines of "we've just moved back to the top of the league, the fans are singing it and I think the players need to be reminded of it". No room for ANY negativity at SFC anymore!!

Who's out for them? Nothing to suggest seriously diminshed here http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/17594151 -
Special mention for Sharp today, thought he did really well. As we all know Rickie likes to drop deep sometimes and this means Sharp is effectively left on his own up top. Can be a horrible role to play but thought his hold up and harrying/chase-down play was great. First touch still not quite there but I'm sure this'll be something Nige'll work on! UTS!

Who does!? I think everyone realises the repetitive interviews are deliberate, just reinforcing the team/one match at a time/positive mentality that has served us so well these past two seasons. Love how he spoke to the supporters directly in the interview today, absolute legend!

I do this sort of thing as well.. I've got money on West Ham, Reading, a P*mpey win tomorrow and a draw tomorrow! What does your double return?

I had a nightmare.. -
I can't really see how we'd benefit from implying he's fit when he isn't. Sure P*mpey would have to rejig their tactics if they set up expecting Lambert, but the boost from hearing he's not playing would offset any negative impact of this rejig

http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2719583,00.html That sort of article doesn't fill me with confidence re Rickie..

Sorry to hear that mate, hope you can take comfort in the fact he had a nice long life and checked out on the back of two fantastic years! RIP, a fellow Saint.

Great opening post, that first Donny game lowest point for me as well. Charlton and Burnley home not great either, but at least I'd accepted the nightmare by then!

Always love a player that takes other players on. Often unfairly criticised as, as well as being more likely to create something, SDR type players are also more likely to be responsible for losing possession; it's a by-product of what they do. Trotting out the final ball argument is amusing as well, some people seem to get something in their head about a player (which can be entirely justified AT THE TIME) and then never move from that standpoint. SDR's final ball has improved a lot since he's been here IMO; thinking off hand about the last few games he's appeared in - two cracking deliveries vs Ipswich at home (one making a goal) and yesterday a few near post drilled crosses (one the goalie nearly spilled into his own net) and some decent floated balls. None skewed out etc (as we saw earlier in the season) and far better offerings than what we saw from Butterfield (who usually has a decent ball on him to be fair)!

And reading their OS! http://www.whufc.com/articles/20120323/stats-back-hammers-cause_2236884_2689796 Did Big Sam draft that himself?
-
Definitely burnt to death - assuming it's in a fire, hopefully the fumes would knock me out before I felt too much pain.

Some good (and accurate) points about large away followings bringing an average atmosphere on there, optimum's usually 2.5-3k imo

I thought Rotherham won Community Club of the Year?
-
I can vouch for this, was told exactly the same
-
No, that's what I was told. Let's not forget we sold our Brighton allocation in about 2 hours!
-
just got back from ticket office, 2,500 sold already (probably 3k by now)

It'd help if all players did as well rather than employing (perfectly legal) tax avoidance schemes (i.e. setting up companies in between them and their club, getting paid in image rights) to protect that little bit more of their £25k+ a week.

Millwall are obsessed with maintaining their violent reputation to set them apart from clubs who in reality are of a similar size to them, such as Leyton Orient and Brentford. I spoke to a Millwall fan once who said this and was proud of it.

Alpine, I can't comment on your views on other aspects of life but, when it comes to football, do you accept that you're generally quite a negative person? What are your views about what others have said about you on this thread, particularly the poster questioning why you follow Saints when you clearly get very little enjoyment from the good times? Serious questions, I'm not trying to get a "bite". And for the record I have a lot more respect for you than some of the wannabe hooligans we get on here!
