I think James was brought through the youth system as a central midfielder, we only saw him play there once or twice for Saints though. Interesting that he appears to be a fully converted RB now. Always thought he did alright for us, although obviously lacking pace.

I like this about Adkins, he's a a nice guy by all accounts, but not afraid to get his hands dirty if he needs to! Probably too nice to get too abusive though - "You're a flipping nitwit, Neil, you PILLOCK!!!"

Only acknowledging direct contribution there, an unfair judge of performance in my view. I thought his constant running, "niggling" at defenders and off-the-shoulder play created much more time and space for Lambert, Lallana et al to strut their stuff - defenders must hate playing against such energy. I do see where you're coming from re his composure in front of goal, but that's something I'm sure Adkins'll work on

The swearing was indefensible, but take that out of the equation I don't think he comes across too badly (he didn't sound very drunk to me). Bournemouth fans need to remember where they were when he took over

That sort of attitude isn't accepted at Saints these days - think positive! First one with ball should hold onto it, run down the stairs and pass it onto someone else to run along the front with (the first person could even run the full distance if he/she wanted). Make this happen.

Will you sort yourself out at half-time FFS? Just pass the big beach ball down to someone at the front and let them leg it to the other end of the stand before the nipper on the pitch! Simple
