We've had plenty of luck already this season. VAR has been our best player. We've not been unlucky in the slightest, we're just sh1te.

Whenever I see anyone in Football as quoted as saying anything, I always imagine what question they'd have asked and what the alternative answers would be. In this scenario, Ralph was asked how losing Wilson would effect things, he gave the answer ANY other football manager would have given about ANY other staff member leaving at ANY club. It's not as if he's going to go "Good riddance, couldn't stand him, poor personal hygiene and complete tosser of a human being".

They don't. People just say that to save face when it happens. It's quite a childlike logic but we all probably do it in various aspects of life. Like "Fine, I didn't want that toy anyway...SO THERE!!!" As I've said previously in this post, there would be positives to being relegated however, overall it would NOT be a good thing.

Did more good than harm for the club IMO.

I don't WANT to get relegated. I'd rather stay up, of course however if we were relegated there would be positives. Like I said, they don't outweigh the negatives however they do exist.

Ralph is a decent manager. He's probably the best we're likely to get without fear of being poached by a big club. The people wanting him out already are probably the same people whinging about "no loyalty in football" when Poch and Koeman both left. It's embarrassing that we're even discussing this. The squad we have is utter cack. Redmond and MAYBE Begnarek are the only ones that a PL team would come in for if we got relegated. Ings at a push, if he stays injury free.

You honestly don't think Bednarek (and to a lesser extend Yoshida) would get into ANY other team in the league?

An unsung hero that everyone raves about. Doesn't make much sense does it? Davis was okay. Nothing more, nothing less. For every great game he had, he had two awful ones. I've always found his "underrated" tag to be ****ing tedious, especially since nearly everyone comes out with it, implying that people do indeed rate him. If anything, I found him to be overrated. A bit like PEH, can't question his attitude and probably worth a place in the squad just for that but can't rely on him because he's not that great. (Steven, not Kelvin).

We looked more creative and composed before that change IMO. And we wonder why RH doesn't seem to like Bertrand. That's why. Looked like he couldn't be arsed most of the time. Boufal was our best player IMO.

I pity Westwood tbh. Imagine having such a deep love and obsession with a professional sports club which doesn't care if you live or die (other than your money). They probably value him a bit more than your average supporter because of how recognisable he is but that's about it. I love Saints a healthy amount. Not more than friends, family or even pets and appreciate it's very much a one way love. I know Westwood must get recognised a lot but ultimately must live a very lonely life.

2012? Funny, that rumour was going around when I was at school and I left in 2006. Easy to see why I often question whether this actually happened.

Can we keep this as a sticky for a bit longer? We've had 14 years of listening to them drone on about the 4-1 at every opportunity, I think we can gloat over this for a little while more.

Regarding the comments on Higginbotham, it's no secret that he had a pretty torrid time here but since he left, it's come out that he gave Franny his FA Cup Runners up medal from 2003 as he didn't think he deserved it and knew how much Franny had given to the club. He also did it on the quiet as well, not as some great gesture to get noticed. Not even MLT knew until fairly recently. Can't bring myself to dislike Higgy.

"We didn't deserve to lose" well they scored one and we scored three. So yes we did. That's literally how the game works. Do you claim that someone didn't deserve to win a game of Monpoly because you rolled more doubles?

Utterly disgusting performance. I never want to see Vestergaard in a Saints shirt again. Cedric puts in a slightly better performance than usual and suddenly he's amazing despite said performance still just being average. Bertrand came on and did nothing and we wonder why Ralph doesn't like him, PEH and JWP were both diabolical. Romeo, Boufal, Redmond all very good. Adams did okay but got no service. If we smash P*mpey then I'll happily look back at this and laugh but for now, not good at all.

Exactly what I was thinking last night. Last thing we want to do is face them with a "new lease of life". Tbf I think Jackett's a very good manager at that level. I read over the summer that if they didn't start well, they wanted to replace him with Pardew! On a side note, I'm thinking of placing a massive bet on P*mpey for insurance purposes.

Ex-Saints player and manager Chris Nicholl has dementia and is in supported living. Most of us probably know someone, if not well, who's gone through this either indirectly or directly. Like they say about cancer, it probably affects everyone at some point. People who work with those who have the disease are so admirable. I'm not sure I could do it and there's loads of great dementia charities. Maybe we could set up some kind of GoFund thingy and donate to a charity on behalf of the forum in acknowledgement of our support of Nicholl? Fox was absolutely dreadful and no he didn't have a "killer left foot" as people always use to defend him. He had an average left foot which produced an okay cross every now and again, relative to the Championship. Can't remember if Harding ever played in the PL for us but he was always miles better than Fox.

I keep having nightmares about this game. I've been dreaming about the game since it came out the hat and I keep dreaming we lose in different ways

I'd rather have Bednarek.
