  1. Silva appointed Watford manager. Thank **** for that...
  2. And would you take Adkins back? Because I wouldn't. As much as he'd always be welcome back as a youth coach or something, I wouldn't take the risk, we've outgrown him. I'm not saying Howe is a bad manager...But we have a manager who, we're pretty unlikely to ever be relegated under due to his safety first approach, he's done okay in his first season. I'm not prepared to trade him for a manager who is 50/50 as to which way it would go.
  3. Yes but his flop to success ratio is 1-1. It's not like he's worked wonders at 4 or 5 clubs then just had that one stint at Burnley.
  4. Yes...Yes he did.
  5. Yeah, not taking anything away from him. He's worked wonders but I just think he might be one of these managers that are just suited to one particular club. I suppose like McMenemy was with us.
  6. Agreed. I like Puel. He isn't perfect but even the most anti-Puel fans would surely admit that Puel's "failure" is due to being at the wrong club rather than just being a bad manager. On another note am I the only one that doesn't want Howe? He comes across as a right smarmy bastard, I don't buy his nice guy act at all. He's done well at Bournemouth and fair play to him but remember when he flopped at Burnley? The way people talk about Howe, you'd think he wasn't a risk but he is. No thank you. I'd much rather have either of your three choices.

    Puel out

Hypothetical: Puel stays, Black leaves, Bertrand leaves for £21 Million and VVD stays and signs another 6 year contract...Yes or no?
  8. There's every reason. Krueger did an interview a week or two ago and refused to back him. He implied he was at very least thinking of sacking him. He released that information to us willingly so if he has now decided on keeping him, we deserve to know on what basis. Had that statement not been made, I'd agree but by making it, he's very much "involved" the fans. He can't just tell us half a story. I'd give him another season.

    Puel out

    I don't.
  10. You know someone posted on here yesterday that we were talking to a "big name"? My housemate is a Birmingham City fan and he's just told me their local paper is reporting that Zola is talking to another club in England...Dear God no!!!

    Puel out

Is that based on something or is that just some random day and time you've plucked out of thin air?
  12. Pretty sure he's P*mpey bound.
  13. I go to games when I can (don't live in Southampton) and watch most games via an online stream. Have to work, I'd say 1 in every 4 or 5 games on average but I'm sure there are people that have to work and miss more games than that. The football is poor, there's no denying that but I wasn't talking exclusively about THIS season. I was answering the question from a general point of view. So I'm not really thinking about the "But we only finished 8th because the PL was poor this season" argument. Wins themselves are enough entertainment for me. Fancy football is nice but you don't get points for it. It's a results based business.
  14. Of course there's no reason we can't have both but I f it was a direct choice between the two, 8th and boring every time. Couldn't care less how "entertaining" we are as long as we win.
  15. No. I think he's a good manager who has been unlucky in his last few jobs but he's not the right fit for us. Style of play would be similar to Puel but Moyes wouldn't blood young players. Something Puel has been pretty good at.
  16. After Kruger's comments last week, surely there has to be a statement either way? He openly admitted they'll have a review and he might not keep his job. If he decides to keep him, I would we get a statement with that information.
  17. Sometime between 10:00 and 12:00 today. I'm guessing the review will be first thing, it's probably going on as I type this.
  18. Just a thought...Did our Stuart Taylor ever play there for an opposition? Also I think Richard Wright is still around somewhere.
  19. Purely hypothetical of course but if Koeman fell out with the Everton owners and resigned after Sunday, would you take him back?
  20. But we can qualify this season if United with the Europa League
  21. You just know we're going to win 7-4 with two of ours being successful penalties, Stoke missing three pens and having one of them ruled out for offside. This is quite obviously going to be Puel's last game in charge, if it is, I hope it's announced beforehand and he gets a half decent reception and a good send off. Let's be honest, in the grand scheme of things, he hasn't done a spectacularly bad job has he?
  22. Was only wondering earlier today if we'd ever done four connective top 10 finishes in the top flight. Where did we finish in the 80s that one season outside the top 8? If we finish top 8, Puel would have done a very solid and stable job. Boarding on "good". 8th and a cup final, I'd have snatched your hand off for that at the start of the season. I couldn't really care less about the style of Football and how boring it is. Also as an added bonus, Puel has got the best out of JWP as well as handing opportunities to a fair few academy players.
  23. Dreamt Boro scored, Gabbiadini equalised and then Boro scored again. Finished 2-1
  24. Defoe available on a free! I'm past caring about his Skate connections or his age, the bloke scores goals!
  25. I thought we'd turned him down and THEN he'd taken the Greece job? Trouble is with appointing Reineri (for anyone) is that he's got that Leicester season to live up to. Most rational minded football (or even just sports fans) would accept that was a one off, never before, never again achievement however you just know some people would be expecting him to come in and achieve the same with us.
