  1. Pelligrino was just a symptom of this clubs ills. SO, WHY IS REED STILL HERE ????
  2. 100% agree.. it was the only way we stood a chance. No way could we have coped playing 90 minutes of 'open football' against a team who had better players in every department than ours. We had to be in it for as long as we could manage, and I thought we done well to keep them at bay for such a long time. It did't help that the ref was one of those 'big club' *****es. But face it, had he been anything other, the FA would not have appointed him.
  3. personally I thought we looked as if we had Sunday on our mind rather than the relegation fight..
  4. stopped the losing run, now onto a winning streak
  5. as a Saints fan, I would like to ask.. Should I be worrried about this bank, and it's involvment? simple yes or no ?

  7. TUI have just had a poll, the subject on whether Pellegrino should be sacked now. It attracted well over 1000 voter, an enormous amount for the TUI. There was a similar one of here a few months back. A lot of water has gone under the bridge since then, a lot of points dropped, and patience lost. I would like to see how different a new poll on here would be. I believe Pellegrino would have lost half of his 'support' at least.
  8. one word for this window, and that is FAILURE
  9. This manager must know the criticism, abuse and disrespect he gets. Why doesn't he just resign? Could you face going into a work place day after day with whispering behind your back and even disrespect from those who you answer too? Nothing will change now so resignation is your only let out. This could also apply to Les Reed, although throughout his time in this buisness has grown a thick skin as well being deaf and blind
  10. Dont trust the Russians...they WILL double the price at the last minute
  11. at least we didn't allow their manager to get off to a flying start
  12. it's the cup...and despite the manager, we march on
  13. should have used his hand instead of his head:rolleyes:
  14. If there is no manager available, would we except the inexperienced KD as caretaker manager until one becomes available
  15. XMAS AND NEW YEAR RESULTS REFLECTS WHERE WE ARE WITH THIS IDIOT... Home Hudderfield drew 1-1 Away Tottenham lost 5-2 away Man United drew 0-0 Home Crystal Pal lost 2-1 2 points... goals for 4 against 8 Relegation form
  16. I'd like to be on what your taking.. a draw isthe best I can see. I cannot see us scoring more than one, and cannot see that back 4 keeping a clean sheet... hope I'm wrong
  17. Straight at him ??????? not on my screen, it was just inside the box and FF WAS AT FULL STRETCH.
  18. 1-4 that's it now...they were toying with us
  19. out without a doubt
  20. ah well glad we signed Hoetd before he saw this
  21. No u-turn at all, but I'd like to take Van Dijk out of the equation altogether, whether he's sold or not he has proved unworthy of anyone's trust. But if Hoetd joins I would definitely like VvD gone before he can turn his fellow countymans head, or worse still introduce him to his agent.
  22. I'd like to think he will be the first part of replacing our present duo of Yoshida and Stephens. Next one, Wimmer? Wimmer and Hoetd would be a solid pair IMO
  23. god 10 years ago, and it was nothing like you claim...in any case there is no criticism of Les Reed in that above other than he was to trusting dealing with unscrupulous characters in the form of LFC, Wassermans, and the player himself. I doubt if you read it.
  24. by ignoring the mistakes made will only lead to them happening again. And, the only critcism of Les in that is for being too trusting
  25. First Les, congratulations on standing up to VD and forcing him to put in a transfer request. But let's look how we arrived at this impossible position. You had the player tied into a long contract, as you have others. Normally you would think we would be safe from any vultures covetting our players for the length of their contracts. That was a mistake! thinking that, you could trust other clubs to stick to the rules, and act honorably. You also trusted the overseers of those rules, the FA, to act in a fair manner and intercede if they didn't. Another mistake as it turned out. You also accepted Liverpool's apologise and promise to withdrawal from any other activity to unsettle him, A mistake, you should have pushed the complaint with the FA. You trusted the player and his agents to honor the contract, particularly as he had only just signed it. Mistake The first alarm bell should have been when this player changed agents, to the aggressive Wasserman Group. You should have known that they would have wanted an early payday. Mistake. Now there has been talk that things were not right between yourself and the player back in March. It was also said that the club wanted to test the waters with the value of the player. I don't care if you did, that doesn't matter if you 'informally' asked other likely buyers how much they were likely to pay for him. Another mistake, nothing is informal dealing with transfer valuations. Whilst some clubs would understand we are not making the player available, others would see it as a green light. Besides an unscrupilous agent would be in touch with them, telling them different. Trusting interested clubs and trusting agents, bad mistake. Especially if one of those clubs has 'form' and the agent concerned is Wassermans, the very same agents who had burned our fingers the previous season over our manager Ronald Koeman. You were let down by the player and let down by Liverpool FC, and that is disrespectful. Both parties, I would imagine thought you and the club weren't serious about wanting to keep the player a long time. They most likely based that on past experience, the player had seen other players go to Liverpool almost at will, and Liverpool thought we had some sort of special relationship that provided them with players they wanted. That perception will need to be changed, and to be fair, you have tried changing that in this case. But it will take time to lose the selling club label. But you are right it has to be changed if we are to progress. All this is water under the bridge now, we may as well write off our chances of keeping the player. Although it doesn't necessarily mean he has to go to Liverpool FC. Fortunately, there are some top teams interested. We need to move on which means this player will have to be replaced as soon as possible. Certainly, before the window closes. Other players in the squad may have been disaffected by the situation and by showing that we still have ambitions by replacing him with quality, may stop them trying to follow his route out of the club. Southampton FC's needs must come first, in future, and this should be made abundantly clear to all. You should be thinking of curtailing the access to the club by agents, some clubs insist that they only visit the club by appointment or invitation. It almost seems as if our club is a fertile recruiting ground for agents. Players access to the social media has to be looked at, and discouraged. This last crisis was played out almost at will on Twitter or similar outlets. And Les, no more Mr. Nice guy with Liverpool or the FA. Provide the FA with all the evidence concerning this case, and insist they take disciplinary action to protect clubs like us, from those who think they have divine right to first choice of any players.
