What I can't really understand is that the footballing debts are constantly being referred to as secured debts. Surely they are the same as all the rest? FL/PL rules do not make them legally secured debts, or do they?

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-1260351/How-Portsmouth-player-window-We-look-players-grabs-Fratton-Park-super-sale.html?ITO=1490 Very generous valuations in the Mail IMO. Does anyone really think Utaka is worth £4-5m? And James at £1m for a 40 yr-old? Injury-prone KP Boetang for a mere £4m?
-
Exactly. Complete contradiction. As everyone has said nobody is going to want to buy now, partly because a lot of managers may leave, be sacked at the end of the season. But I think the transfer market will be very flat over the summer. I think we will be going back to the days when you have to be pretty good to get over £1m.

Martin Samuel, Daily Mail on Coretese: "self serving" and a "buffoon"
Boris Karloff replied to trousers's topic in The Saints
OK Cortese has set targets, Samuel believes those targets are unrealistic given Saints circumstances (which a lot of Saints fans agree with). However, this doesn't justify the horrible, *****y tone of the piece. It's a character assassination of a man he hasn't even met. -
I don't think AP will take any league game lightly between now and the end of the season. He would much rather be called into Cortese's office to explain why we missed out on the play-offs by 2 points than having to justify 20 points behind.

I'm not sure we'll do it, but it is possible. Milan have made up something like 7 points over Inter in the last six matches, so it can happen to even the best. Also, nobody knows what will happen to these teams at the top once a bit of pressure creeps in over the final weeks. It's all very well winning games in December but it's very different when it matters in April.
-
how is it these teams get away with pitches it's impossible to play on? Why don't they get fined? If they want to take the rugby money that's ok but they should pay for it.
-
That's what really gets me. I don't particularly want them to go under, yet they bought in players on loan knowing full well they couldn't afford to pay them and they changed the game against us.
-
Undone by a lack of pace in that defence. Could say we should have played James or Wotton to protect the defence but easy to say that now...
-
How many players have they got on loan? I thought there was a limit on loan players?
-
That is a great signing. He'll be as good as anyone in this league.

Jason Puncheon to Saints according to SSN
Boris Karloff replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
Depends. The FA Cup and JP Trophy winners medals coupled with the prospect of European football might keep them happy. -
Realistically to get anywhere near the play-offs we would need the kind of run where we win 7 or 8 on the trot and to do that we would need someone scorinh in virtually every game and banging in 7 or 8 goals. Who's going to do that. Doesn't look like Lambert or Lallana could at the moment. For me a lot comes down to Bernard finding his feet pretty soon.

Looking like Saints could be lowest league placed team in the next round.
-
He won't play Lancashire. It will be James Thomas Perry Harding/Mills
-
Nice win. I fear we're going to miss Morgan with Hammond out though.

No one worried at the level of spending..?
Boris Karloff replied to Thedelldays's topic in The Saints
I just think he wants to take us to a higher level asap and then will look at balancing the books. Don't think it's anything to worry about. -
We were doing nicely until we went 4-4-2. I hope everyone on here who called for 4-4-2 is happy now.
-
No you're probably right. We were doing well with 4-5-1, but everyone was calling for 4-4-2 and it just doesn't seem to work so well.

Fair enough, it's your risk allowing it to be published. Legally, your justification is very dubious.

I am very surprised that the mods on this board have let people post what they they "think" happened in this case.
-
You don't have a clue what happened so why put together what little you have read to come up with complete speculation?
-
No, she stays up to watch it because I do! But I know that if there were no presenters and it was just match after match and nothing in between, her eyes would glaze over and she'd be asleep even quicker than she normally is. I just think that some people like to have the matches put into a little bit of context, have a bit more opinion, etc. but I would guess that it's not necessarily the people that frequent this forum.
