Benalmadena - like the place - some great Spanish restaurants.

Was a great bowling performance - especially Briggs and Wood. Our openers were due a fail but thought Lumb played a poor shot considering the state of the game and it was first ball against spin. Vince batted well but again got out going for one he didnt need to. We really do have some talented youngsters who pulled us through last night Briggs, Wood, Vince and that big kid Cork at the end! I had a big smile at the Glamorgan lady sat in front of me with a bundle of sheep wool sat spinning it!

Away to Palace 1-2

I went...brilliant trip, mass game of footie at Dover. The ferry staff were doing a crate for a fiver on board so most were wrecked. The police went onto the coaches to stop anyone that was too ****ed and they warned us we woudnt be allowed onwards- we had one lad propped up with his one year passport card in hand pretending to be asleep. In the ground the tannoy music played Manhattan Transfer Chanson D'Amour ratattata over and over... The stadium was ****e and the steps were crumbling under your feet as you jumped up and down. Oh and we were robbed with that bent lino!! Back to Ostend after the game and packed out the bars - great trip.

River Inn has a carvery - 10 mins walk from Eastleigh train station. On a sunny day you can sit outside by the river in a nice garden. Was thinking of the Cricketers but that would need short taxi ride. Ham Farm does Old Speckled Hen on draft thats not too far up Twyford Road. -
Good news. you cant count yesterday either as that was a slog fest and no chance for slow bowlers. Great decision to include Jones. We need Tahir this year to give Danny a rest. Just need an Afridi replacement.
-
Maybe the difference is we don't have the Kolpak players playing???? .....plus Lumb and Adams are a great opening partnership. We really have to look at our recruitment..ok I accept we have been unlucky with Afridi and fitness like Kabir Ali but De Wet and Myburgh have just not done the business. Tahir bowled abysmally v Somerset....hope he can get some form soon.

wooohoo 20 run victory well done Lumb and Adams awesome batting!

Quality post and 100% agree.

Apologies I didnt mean it to sound that bad....I may be a grumpy old git but only 53! It was 460 due to the pairing of Adult and Junior thats been removed plus the other rises. As View from the Top suggested ...and others are doing its a move to the Chapel and only a rise of £90 which is fine.
-
Thank you for that I will see if we can move seats there.
-
That is now the plan to join the Chapel lot. Trouble was I really liked where we were good crowd plenty of atmosphere and great view in block 34.
-
Really oh thats ok then
-
Mine went up 65%!!! Do you think thats OK then?? Adult and Junior last year £460 This year £705 a bit more than 20% wouldn't you say?
-
Mine has gone up 65% Paid £460 last year Adult and Junior This year £705.

I think we are one top player away from being a good side again and Afridid could be that man. We have some good youngsters in Vince, Briggs and Howell must of saved about 15 runs with his fielding last night. Dimi bowled superbly, Cork came back well after a bad first over - no point in a 6 -3 field if you bowl towards middle-leg! Wood took some stick but kept going and I thought Briggs bowled well with no luck. Having Lumb and Adams back as openers showed what we have beem missing - a great partnership and understand each other so well with the running. If Vince can get his head down he will be an England international(that and moving to Middlesex or Surrey ;-) Great win....bit puzzled by Corks outburst but good to see a captain defend his team I suppose.

As is your Hoddle would keep us up and it was all the fans fault you have been spouting for the last 4 yours non stop! All pure speculation by you despite being shown evidence. Had Sturrock stayed 2 more games we would of stayed up...easy this isn't it.
-
What division were we in under Sturrock?? look at Sturrocks points per game ratio ...had he stayed 2 more games blah blah blah People on here have given you the reasons time and time again. I have shown you proof about Hoddle on here time and time again yet you choose to ignore that! Here you are again! with compliments to Pat: http://www.clubfanzine.com/southampton/forum.topic.bythread.php?id_t=45569&piece=topic45569&id_categ=37 Club Member Posts: 3216 Joined: 13/08/2007 Glenn, Sam, and Rupert.. You may recall in the week running up to our great escape, I mentioned that I would be seeing Dave Hoddle(Glenn's uncle) and John Radford whilst I was in Bishops Stortford. We did meet up at the Bell in Stansted, although JR was only there for 20 mins or so, I did have a 2 hour conversation with Dave Hoddle. Inevitably the subject of Glenn, Rupert and Southampton came up. In the press there are stories of Rupert replacing NP with Glenn, or Sam Allardyce. So let's look at it, for what it's worth, thanks to Dave's input, I think we can dismiss both of these rumours. Rupert and Glenn are not so close as you would imagine.. 1..It still rankles Rupert the way Glenn left Southampton to join Spurs. 2..Glenn blames Lowe entirely, for the breakdown of his return here, prior to the Sturrock appointment. Yes, I know that fans resistance to Hoddle was blamed, and still is. But that's a myth, Rupert made the decision not to proceed, and since when has fan pressure influenced him? One or two directors voiced their nervousness of the appointment, but again since when did Lowe let that worry him? Rupert's decision was made entirely on a medical report, that still to this day, is very relevant to Glenn's ability to perform the day to day duties as team manager/coach. 3...Glenn Hoddle's only became aware that he hadn't got the appointment came when he saw the pictures of Sturrock on the pitch at SMS on TV. He immediately rang his agent to find out what was occurring, his agent then rang SFC to speak to Lowe. A row ensued, and Rupert was accused of betraying Glenn. He retorted that he (agent), and his client," were fine examples of loyalty considering the way he left in the first place" 4...Since then, the only contact that Glenn and Rupert has had, according to his uncle, have been at a couple of official functions. Both have been strained.
