  1. That was mine as well. Sat in amongst the great unwashed and cheered every Saints goal. Well you could then.
  2. Hallelujah I thought it was just me! He was shocking jut look how many times Wes Brown overlapped and put out of position by his ****e play.
  3. That must be the biggest understatement ever! How the hell does SWP get picked? Bent is static but no support ....massive gap between strikers and midfield. When we get the ball we go back....and back and back....they have no left back and a masive gap to exploit. Brazil might just up the tempo in a bit and swat us away. Forecast 2-0 Brazil if we carry on like this.
  4. I think some of us have so been used to having lightweight, non-committed. small, useless centre halves since Killer that we may be going over the top. He wins so many headers though and its brilliant that from set pieces we now compete rather than conceding almost everytime like last season.
  5. I am getting worried...I have watched us since 1963...had Big Ron as my schoolboy hero, Paine, Sydenham and the great Brian O'Neill. I was ther through the Keegan, Ball, Channon and Le Tiss years. I am now 50 and find it mental that I am idolising a giant of a centre back in Jaidi who is immense at the back with his towering headers. Lambert is becoming a particular hero as his all round game is superb, great in the air, leads the line, actually passes to teammates and scores goals. OK last night he wasn't as good as previous games but think that was due to getting clobbered early on - still scored though ;-) After watching the dross of the last few years I am trying not to get carried away but gosh its great at the moment!!!! I just want us up the table and away from the relegation zone. Very professional performance - thought Papa did well when he came on - good defensively as well.
  6. But some players just need a change of team, style or pattern of play or in fact area of the country. Take Gary Monk who I see has extended his contract at Swansea and done really well there - yet here he just looked slow, cumbersome and way off the pace. Ok we were a few divisions higher but he looked light years away - just like Olly does now when he is near the 1st team.
  7. Thanks for those I had contacted Ipaq already but wondered if anyone knew anything in Southampton.
  8. I lost £100 didnt buy them to make money and agree fully with FF and Janet. I am just glad we have cleared the deadwood and SMS is now great onmatchday just concentrating on the footie and the crap beer ;-)
  9. Does anyone know of any PSP repair shops in Southampton - we have tried the usual game, Gamestation etc. My nippers PSP yellow ac adapter has broken I have taken casing off to see if I can repair but getting screen off is a bit of a git. These are not made for easy repair.
  10. About 4 lines worth!
  11. Ignore the tosser above #12 who clearly cant tell The Lounge from Muppet Forum!!! How is he doing in training - has he scored any? Has he put in extra practise? Set up some cones and practise hitting them rather than a larger target. Do you have a small goal in the garden? My guess this is nothing to do with not scoring but the comments as kids are quite cruel and only see goals and who scored them as important not who set them up. Does he play for the school team? How is he doing then?
  12. No we didnt or else why would we be in the next round? We won 7-5.
  13. Totaly agree - I went to South St Seaport in NY last November and the potential Southampton has to do exactly what they have built there is criminal to ignore. As for Ocean Village I know for a fact that a lot of shops and businesses were driven out by the colossal rent that they were subjected to - there were severe financial penalties for shops not being open when they were commited to be. The football club has a lot to be thankful to the council for but its residents do not in the way the city planners have neglected and destroyed this once fine city.
  14. I will second that...some may accuse us of lack of ambition though :-) I will take getting into the top half of the division by Christmas first though!
  15. But the whole issue was you were refusing to see the improvements that were being put in place after just 10 games. I did not get upset over your comments I just thought they were laughable and unbelievable that you expected AP to turn us around in that few amount of games. He has addressed every area in the squad that need fixing yet there are still some that question us after 5 straight wins! A football match chnages all the time based on injuries, positions and tactics so if the oppostion are out gunning us in midfield when we are playing 4-3-3 or 4-4-2 what difference is it if we go 4-5-1 and win? The manager should get the credit not comments about why we never started that way at the start. Give us a few bad results in the next few months and those idiots will come back and ignore exactly what has been achieved in less than 4 months!
  16. Yet you were 2weeks advocating that we should of kept Wotte....who sat there all season watching McGoldrick struggle on his own! Why cant people just get behind a manager who is slowly but surely turning this club back from oblivion to one that can challenge any side we play in this league. You and the famous gang of 4 are being proved wrong and now have the graciousness to accept we just may have a manager that can change things if its not working out. Thats what good managers do.
  17. Terrible news and my most sincerest condolesces to you Big Ron. You gave us all so much pleasure and I can remember the day I sat opposite you on the train coming back from Portsmouth as a wide-eyed gobsmacked ten year old. You wore the biggest sovereign ring I had ever seen. The word legend is far over-used in football but it goes nowhere near far enough to describe how much we think of you.
  18. I saw him about a month ago near St Marys Sports Hall on the way to a home game at SMS.
  19. It was called Sydneys...I remember buying a pair of high waisters with 36 inch flares. They did some great Budgie jackets. Gill Brothers was the place to but Trevira patch pockets.
  20. He has been told it time and time again yet ignores the fact that the fans had a minor part to play in this,,,,but that doesnt suit his agenda for the last 4 years! Does anyone honestly believe that if Lowe wanted him he wouldnt get him? Fans wanted Pearson what did we get Lowes Dutch farce! Dalek ignores Hoddles record since at Spurs and |Wolves as it stops his usual ****fest over his pin ups on his wall.
  21. Listen you complete imbecile...its been explained about 1000 times yet you still bleat on and on and on..... Club Member Posts: 3216 Joined: 13/08/2007 Glenn, Sam, and Rupert.. You may recall in the week running up to our great escape, I mentioned that I would be seeing Dave Hoddle(Glenn's uncle) and John Radford whilst I was in Bishops Stortford. We did meet up at the Bell in Stansted, although JR was only there for 20 mins or so, I did have a 2 hour conversation with Dave Hoddle. Inevitably the subject of Glenn, Rupert and Southampton came up. In the press there are stories of Rupert replacing NP with Glenn, or Sam Allardyce. So let's look at it, for what it's worth, thanks to Dave's input, I think we can dismiss both of these rumours. Rupert and Glenn are not so close as you would imagine.. 1..It still rankles Rupert the way Glenn left Southampton to join Spurs. 2..Glenn blames Lowe entirely, for the breakdown of his return here, prior to the Sturrock appointment. Yes, I know that fans resistance to Hoddle was blamed, and still is. But that's a myth, Rupert made the decision not to proceed, and since when has fan pressure influenced him? One or two directors voiced their nervousness of the appointment, but again since when did Lowe let that worry him? Rupert's decision was made entirely on a medical report, that still to this day, is very relevant to Glenn's ability to perform the day to day duties as team manager/coach. 3...Glenn Hoddle's only became aware that he hadn't got the appointment came when he saw the pictures of Sturrock on the pitch at SMS on TV. He immediately rang his agent to find out what was occurring, his agent then rang SFC to speak to Lowe. A row ensued, and Rupert was accused of betraying Glenn. He retorted that he (agent), and his client," were fine examples of loyalty considering the way he left in the first place" 4...Since then, the only contact that Glenn and Rupert has had, according to his uncle, have been at a couple of official functions. Both have been strained. With thanks to Patred
  22. Interesting comment on SSN just now that Gold was looking to invest in a club south of Watford...he mentioned West Ham, Brighton and Southampton. Where the heck was he 12 months ago when we were desperate....whatever anyone says Brady is decent at her job. No thanks now though think we are more than happy with what we have.
  23. What at dwarf throwing?
  24. Officially no but there is no way they have time to stop you and go into that detail - to be honest why bother? Surely its far better that the seat is used plus the club still get additional revenue from drink, food etc from the persom attending as the seat has been paid for.
  25. Or the fact that we had a number of players just sat there using up our wages fund? At the fans forum he made it quite clear that we would have to get a few out on loan first.
