  1. You mean football fans are fickle...bugger me I am shocked! The Paul Allen saga was a classic example of how much greed we all have...in fact when it was rumoured another takeover was in the offing there was disappointment that they were not as rich as him! A lot of it is green eyed monster stuff when looking at the other end of the M27 and how much investment they have had in. What would be Utopia for me? Someone coming in and just paying off our debts to enable us to forget the Administration word for good. We have the right model now....Chelsea are now really ramping up their academy as they realise its the best way. Last Saturday I was more gutted at the defeat than ever.... why? Because I realise these lads are actually giving a **** and not just mercenary buggers and trying the best they can I even had a row with a bloke going down the stairs after Birmingham who asked why people were clapping when we had lost and he couldn't see the fact those nippers had treated us to some of the best football seen here in years. The Robinho transfer 92k a week is obscene...its now cheaper to watch England than a Premiership game. I have watched our academy for years it started when Walcott was about 15 and have seen the progression of these nippers to the first team and beyond...I have bought into the academy and the efforts Lowe, Prost, Henderson and now Hockaday put in and we have already reaped rewards in transfer fees that otherwise would of seen as sunk.
  2. I just hope Paterson doesn't take it to heart too much and he looked really down in the last 10 minutes. That is why I think losing Euell at the time was a big blow as he always seems to help out the youngsters and IMO there is a bit of respect from the young players for him. I hope one of the management has a kind word in young Pato's ear he is too much of a talent to waste.
  3. I didn't see anyone ...which is very unusual as John Mortimore is usually there....no managers or players who all must of gone away for a break? I always stand the dressing room side as you normally get a chance of a word with a manager or an autograph of a player for my nipper but no-one was there..no gossip sorry.
  4. Thomson was a deflected shot after good build up and BWP was a well taken finish into the corner after Nathan left the full back for dead and slipped BWP a great pass. No-one should question his commitment after tonites performance from Nathan and he was tremendously quick and had an end product as well...unusually ;-)
  5. We absolutely gifted them the result by poor finishing in the first half same old Saints. For 40 minutes we were awesome, pace, passion, movement and skill. The defence with Cork (quality all night) and Lancashire were dealing with the robust Brooker and Lee Trundles guile quite comfortably. Imudia had a good game until kicked up in the air....something that the ref let go all night against the most physical side I have ever seen at Staplewood. Fish was outstanding at the back and got forward really well. I was very impressed with Calum McNish and another one who could come into te squad next season. Poor old Paterson had one of those nights in front of goal he should of had 4 but to his credit he kept battling and will come good again - he will be a star I think as he has everything to his game it just wasn't his night in front of goal and it happens to the best of them. BWP worked very hard and deserved his goal but many times he got in good areas but his touch and control let him down. Euell was really good but his injury where he looked as though he dislocated his shoulder knocked the stuffing out of us as Jason was controlling the middle and adding valuable experience to our young side. Best player was Nathan worked his socks off and was a pain in Bristols side all night. Jake left the full back for dead many times and until Euell went off was looking a match winner but he was forced deeper. We lost 4-2 but should of had at least 6 ourselves !! Forecast in goal ....worries me a little..for a big bloke doesn't command the 6 yard line and although couldn't get near the first goal I thought he didn't get anywhere near the second which came from a long way out..perhaps thats a bit harsh but I would not want him in above Kelvin yet. The result flattered Bristol a bit as we should of been out of sight and had Paterson and BWP taken those guilt edge chances we would of won comfortably. We still have some very good youngsters coming through and the first 40 minutes was a joy to watch. Shame Jason went off as I am sure we could of gone on to win as he was playing very well.
  6. We should ask for more than that. Last owner paid £48m to terminate her contract (quote) Plus he had to buy her a plane....... and a razor for the other leg......sorry coat got!
  7. Are they a PLC??
  8. Bloody hell DD I really agree with you on here about Jasmine in midfield (Watch that bite me on the arse tomorrow!). In the playoff season Jasmine went for a hernia operation and was out for a few games....did that coincide with a winning run? As I said initially he did very well at right back towards the end of last season BUT when the standard set is at that level its no wonder we struggled to create much last year.
  9. I think it will be interesting to see 2 of our old boys against us tomorrow and how they compete against our younger quicker side. I was never a fan of Jasmine early on but he had some very good games at right back towards the end of last season. Will Hammill actually deliver for Blackpool more than he did for us....he had the tricks, skills but very little end product apart from the Hull game we won 4-0 when he found himself on the 'wrong' wing. I hope he continues that rich vein of form he had with us ;-).
  10. Winona Ryder - great face Elizabeth Hurley - fantastic body Martine McCutcheon - great cleavage
  11. I am sure there was a lad from Keiths old forum that appeared on the first series. I wonder where he is now and if he posts on here?
  12. James Beattie works hard...well he did for us in the Prem. Kevin Lisbie has worked his socks off when I have seen him play - impressed me at Charlton Jamie Cureton work horse and good goal scorer Ageyemang?? Always runs the lines well and up there in the goal charts most seasons.. I was going to add Phillips as well but cant bring myself to. Will 4 do?
  13. He did and again in training....but lets not ignore the fact that it was his wages that were probably one of the deciding factors as well.
  14. Jeesh another one that cant read!! I SAID I RATE HIM IN THIS LEAGUE BUT HE DOES NOT SUIT OUR STYLE OF PLAY THIS SEASON and cannot afford to put him on the bench. Look at his stats on Wiki he managed 20+ goals for one season not prolific but a good strike rate http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Grzegorz_Rasiak#Derby_County
  15. One of the most prolific...is that not going a tad over the top a decent strike rate but prolific? Who said we wanted him to run around a lot...just a bit might of helped! As I said I rate him highly in this league but in our set up at the moment he is not the right sort of player. If we needed a plan B in a game then he would be good on the bench but we don't have the luxury of affording his massive wages to keep it warm.
  16. I partly agree with you..but there is also the train of thought that says a moving forward also creates goals for his partner and others so you could have 2 or 3 scoring? I rate Rasiak in this league but he has to have the right service and play to a certain formation. I watched him the other day on TV he hardly had a kick and his movement non existent.
  17. He has about as much movement as a shop window dummie
  18. Get well soon as you are one of my schoolboy idols - a speedy recovery and thoughts and best wishes go to you and your family - young Mick8 especially.
  19. I remember up at Kickers in Eastleigh they had a picture of Lallana as one of the young academy lads 3 or 4 years ago. He has a big part to play this year and I hope he doesn't suffer a re-occurence of his hamstring injury that plagued him last year. The good thing with the young lads like Adam, Simon, McGoldrick, Surman, Thomson is that they know each others game so well and unlike most seasons we actually have a squad of players that have played together for a few years.
  20. If we win 2 or 3 games in the next couple of weeks the crowd will return.....football fans are fickle and IMO most are just holding onto their cash until they have proof the team are not going to get slaughtered - only a few are boycotting because of Lowe. I was really impressed with the team against Birmingham and I honestly believe if we can get a result against Blackpool and QPR we will be flying as these lads just need belief and confidence as they have the ability.
  21. Ah the forums Robbie Savage is here again...do you ever play the ball or always the man? Just for your information I have always promoted the communication channel and have stated many times that at least under Rupert the Ask Rupert and Friday night slot he had was one of the best things he ever did. I was one that used it and spoke to him in person at Staplewood. Unlike people like you that just attack other fans views that differ from yours from the keyboard.
  22. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/mostpopular.var.2432046.mostviewed.your_chance_to_ask_michael_wilde_about_saints.php Why are you such a Judas c*nt ??? Do you have any shame? Why are you full of cr8p? Just 3 questions I am guessing won't get asked! The man I hold responsible for our recent demise far mor than loveable old rosey cheeks.
  23. My first visit to Wembley and was impressed with the stadium, lifts not working so a lot of stairs to climb! £7.50 for a pint and a pie pretty good value - not...but luckily enough we had eaten at Richmond as I guessed it would be dear. £2:30 for a soft drink is a joke. If anyone goes in the future we parked at Old Deer Park at Richmond which is only a 10 minute walk to the station and pretty cheap as its stops charging after 6:30. £8 all day. Overland train(Stratford) to Willesden Junct then Bakerloo to Wembley Central really easy. Why can an England manager not see that Ashley Cole does not ever go passed his man on the outside? Not once in 90 minutes to he knock the ball past the defender and get deep or to the bye-line and made it easy for the Czechs to nullify us on the left by crowding that side of the midfield - we then had to do about 10 passes to work it across the pitch to the right then back again. The Czechs moved it in 3 passes and far more quicker and incisive then we were all night. Rooney wandered too much but when you get Gerrard(had a mare) and Lumpolard doing bugger all then its not difficult to see why. I am a big fan of Beckham and without his delivery we are stuffed but does he have to take every corner and free-kick? a variation every now and then would make a change especially a left footer inswinging. If Defoe is international class then so am I!!! If Wes Brown is the best right back we have then we can kiss goodbye to the World Cup as I lost count of the number of times he got beaten by what I call 'hanging legs' at the attacker rather than tackle. Terry was at fault for the goal as he was far too tight and let Baros turn, James was shocking and you never knew what he would do next. The Czechs were great to watch - swift passing and movement off the ball and could open us up with 3 passes and technically light years ahead of us. I am not advocating the long ball game but English football is built on power, passion and commitment with a bit of pace thrown in....25 passes including 12 in our own half to get the ball up to Rooney gives the opposition all the time in the world to get men back. We are pedestrian in our play and need to up the pace and movement.
  24. Not going by his performance the other night..its not as if he wasn't trying...he was just absolute pants...this coming from one of his main supporters last year!
  25. Well I think he was a very good player for us and wish him well...but I also think that £1.3m for a player that has just had an operation and not played since a very serious head and eye operation may be a good deal. I had the same thing as he did when some **** from Whitbreads Fc headed my cheekbone and not the ball! Everytime I went for a header after that I was concerned the same would happen again. I hope he makes full recovery as its his job but I think he just may not be as full blooded and committed in the future as he was here since that injury.
