It so painful that, on this forum one needs to spell out that kind of point. This is a really tough one. I can see Bertrand, as he makes forward runs, crosses etc. Due to his position he is a lot more visible. Toby gets on with his job and is only really visible when we are doing less well. I honestly hardly notice him in many games. I think we should sign both!

In all honesty, I would be bored of winning if we had gone the City or Chelski route......Doing it the right way, by developing talent and buying wisely, that's just priceless, and would never get old if we can continue that way.

I couldn't agree more. For me, my perceptions changed around the time Les Reed started talking while Ralph took a back seat, and my old perceptions of Saints has been changing ever since. While I am still having problems shaking off my old expectations of banana skins at every step for Saints, the sense of a bright future has become overwhelming. For all the posts which deride our ambitions of possibly finishing 4th or higher, I can no longer settle with the notion that there are no surprises left for us in what we can achieve in a bright future that may be closer than we can imagine.
