If we play like we did at Derby against Blackpool we will get 20k+ easy for the next few home games.
-
Every player will have there price. I just hope we're not forced into selling any of the current first XI on the cheap.
-
Short with a very low centre of gravity and was strong on the ball for someone of his stature. He had quite a few tricks and some of his short passing was superb, quick as well although not quite Dyer speed.

Pompey 0 - 1 Man United
-
I wouldn't say he was man of the match but he did put in a really good shift. Sort of the opposite to Rasiak or John, he was running all game and fighting for every ball but he just couldn't finish the oppurtunities which Rasiak/John would probably have finished.

How very petty, you're missing out.

I'm not one to knock Pearson but Gillett and Lallana should have both been involved a lot more last season. I don't see the risk of playing a youngster who could be rubbish when the player they are replacing is proven to be crap for 30 odd games. Charlton away we really could have done with someone like Lallana upfront who can keep the ball for a few seconds rather than BWP who kept giving the ball away. When he was called up he even scored the very important goal against West Brom. Gillett would have been a better option than Idiakez, Licka, Euell or Viafara in the middle.

I was thinking that as I typed it. Killer at his best ahead of Davies would have probably been worth 5~ points extra over those games. It's a bit harsh on Davies to compare him to Svensson though, he was a top Premiership defender and has all the experience, Davies is still learning his trade.

Spot on as well, Morgan and Gillett where the heart beat of the side, everything went through them.

A comment from the bottom there:

Did Derby really spend much money? We had to go up that season, it was poor from Burley. Spending 8m on a team which already contained the likes of Jones, Bale, Lundekvam and Baird was **** poor.
-
lightweight in midfield... Probably because we didn't have some jumped up Wesh tosser flying into challenges he was never going to win. Gillett, Schneiderlin and Lallana gave their midfield the run around all day and Wotton added some mettle in midfield to help shore it up a bit. We where not lightweight in the slightest, that would be the midfielders who where wearing white and couldn't get anywhere near the ball.
-
That save from Kelvin and then the tackle from James (was it him?) which started the counter attack for Lallana's goal won us the game. I thought it at the time and I'm now certain. Great save, great tackle and an almost effortless counter attack. Derby couldn't get near us at times in the second half. It's just unfortunate that McGoldrick didn't finish one of his headers, I spent the last 5 minutes very worried.

What a load of tosh, it's almost as bad as when people mention that Pearson only won three games. We only won four of the games he played in because last season we where **** all over the park. One defender isn't going to be able to change it all around especially not when he's playing in defence with the likes of Wright, Thomas, Viafara.... He was our best defender and at 6 foot 3 inches he's hardly short. He towers over Chris Perry.
-
I've not seen that before, that's an amazing team goal. What year was it from?
-
Anton Ferdinand is a good player, exactly what Sunderland need since Evans went back to United. A better comparison would be Danny ****tu nearly costing double....
-
It was definatly Holmes at the end.
-
I'm not so sure that's the case. We're a bit short upfront but JP says he's looking to bring someone in and we maybe lack cover for Surman if Skacel ends up leaving. Bialkowski Forecast Thomas Lancashire Mills Hatch Wotton Cork Thomson John Dyer Wright-Phillips Skacel Euell All outside of the starting XI today and all look like they will be able to do a job for us this season. I know one or two of those might leave before the window shuts but I reckon a few will be still be here and in contention.
-
Look at the quality players we had on the bench. Dyer, Cork, Wotton and John, not to mention the likes of Skacel, Euell, Thomas and Lancashire who wheren't involved.
-
I was very angry when he released Nigel Pearson and thought we where heading for a very bleak period but to be fair to him we are certainly going in the right direction.
-
Anyone know anything about Lloyd James' injury?
-
Aye, probably true. I'm just glad they are finally getting there chance now.
-
That save from Davis was superb, if that had gone in we would have been in trouble. It seems playing with a good settled defence is making Davis a lot better.
-
I can't wait, if we can play like we did today then Jermaine Wright won't have much fun if he plays at full back.
-
If we can play like we did for the first 10 minutes of the second half we will destroy lots of teams in this league.
