  1. Considering the amount of money Jewell has had to spend he should most certainly get the sack. Derby where and have been **** poor and probably getting worse since he took over.
  2. Davis - Some crucial saves to keep us in it at 0-0, one key save just before we scored which would have changed the game if it had gone in. 7/10 James - I'm still not convinced he's a long term answer at right back but he had a decent game defensively just didn't add offer much going forward. 7/10 Svensson - Superb again, far too good for this division. I really hope he can stay fit. 8/10 Perry - Starting to build a good partnership with Svensson and seems great business getting him in on a free. 7/10 Surman - Probably the weak link for me, he was rushed in possession and occasionally made a poor pass although at time he linked up well with Holmes. 5/10 Schneiderlin - Superb, the lad's class. He wasn't rushed in possession and excelled when he moved into a more attacking midfield role. I really think we have a special player on our hands here, if he stays around long enough he will become a legend for us. 9/10 Gillett - I really don't understand how he was left in the reserves all last season he is so much better than Viafara, Wright, Euell and all the other crap we played in the middle of the park last season. He bossed the midfield and Savage was nowhere to be seen. For a little lad he really gets stuck in and has tremendous energy, he didn't stop running all day. 10/10 Lallana - It's criminal that he wasn't involved more last season. He played all over the midfield and he hardly lost the ball. He will go on to good things in the future as well. 10/10 MOTM Holmes - Worked tirelessly for the team and put himself about. Showed Derby how stupid they where to release him on a free, totally outclassed any of the Derby attacking midfielders. 8/10 McGoldrick - Very unlucky not to score he hit the cross bar twice and had a couple of shots go over the bar. His build up play was great as well, plenty of fighting to hold up the ball and some good skill to bring the wingers into the game. He should have scored in the first half though when Gillett played him through. 8/10 White - Looks really good, some of our best football was down the right, the Derby left back was getting dragged all over the place and White put in some great work. 7/10 Subs: Cork - Looked great down the right, didn't have much work to do defensively but his attacking play and linking up with Lallana on the right was great. I'd like to see him start at right back against Blackpool. 7/10 Wotton - Shored up the midfield a bit and made some really good late runs. 7/10 John - Didn't really have much to do but there was a fair bit of running and chasing. I'm not even exaggerating the scores, we where brilliant. Even in the 90th minute we where still pressing and looking for another goal where previously we would have had 10 men in the boxing hoofing it clear from the 80th minute. We totally outclassed a poor Derby side and where very unlucky not to score more goals.
  3. He was brilliant. One of the best individual performances I've seen in a Saints shirt in well over a year. I really hate the fact we had Gillett and Lallana sat in the reserves all last season while we insisted on playing **** like Idiakez, Viafara, Wright etc because the manager(s) where all too afraid to drop the big names.

  5. I just got back as well and I honestly can't remember the last time we've played so well. It was brilliant to watch, everyone out there gave 100% and it's very hard to single anyone out as a MOTM. Gillett, Schniederlin and Lallana bossed the midfield. Savage was nowhere to be seen. I'll do a breakdown of players in a bit but I need some food first. Absolutely quality performance and on another day we could have easily scored 4.
  6. He's another player who i'd be happy to see go for free. He doesn't offer us anything, he had so many chances last year and he was just crap. Charlton away was the last straw for me, he didn't do anything good all game and kept losing possession putting pressure on our defence. Better off without him.
  7. Good times \o/
  8. John Terry disagrees.
  9. Friday - Job and knock, should be home by 1ish. Then i'm off to Oceana for a Birthday in th evening. Saturday - Off to Derby Sunday - Golf in the morning, probably watch the football in the day and then out on the **** with a few old mates in the evening. Monday - BBQ with family and then relax, might watch the football if I have time.
  10. I wouldn't advise betting on a friendly. Czech Republic are a decent side as well.
  11. Awesome!
  12. Not exactly an inspiring signing, i'd rather sign a decent full back to allow Surman or James to move into midfield.
  13. Thomas isn't playing because he's crap. He isn't being sold because no bugger in there right mind would pay anything like what we paid for him. Perry is better.
  14. Considering he hasn't really played any games I doubt he will even be able to complete his usual 60 minutes. Still he could be a usefull player for us, good cover....
  15. Or player the managers where scared to use. I don't think D&G or Burley would have had the b0llocks to drop someone like Safri, Euell or Idiakez in favour of a youngster like Lallana or Gillett.
  16. It must be quite a few more considering we've just sold our best player for peanuts. I assume it will be a while before we're even close to breaking even.
  17. if he can stay injury free..... It's a stupid gamble to rely on Lancashire, Perry and Svensson.
  18. He'd get more points at Spurs
  19. Whoever we can get money for. I'd like to keep John, the rest are less important.
  20. Indeed, it's no suprise he got fed up with playing left wing though. A Hargreaves, Scholes and Gerrard midfield three would be perfect.
  21. I agree, there should only be one from Rooney, Gerrard and Lampard in the side unless one gets shunted to the wing. If we had a good enough holding player you could probably get away with two but as it is we'd probably be better off with just one and two players like Barry and Hargreaves.
  22. The first 45 when he helped get them into the 3-0 predicament was more to do with Rafa getting the tactics wrong, once Hamman was brought on and Gerrard allowed to move into his preferred role he took the game to Milan and eventually won it for his side. Terry does get away with a lot in the Premiership just like all defenders in every league get away with things, Ferdinand gets away with just as much. Chelsea also got to a Champions League final last season and two semi finals in the three seasons before that so he's obviously doing something right. Anyway my point was that he's quite easily good enough for plenty of top club sides (Real, Juve, Barca) and plenty of top national team (Argentina, Brazil.) So a top manager at a top club wants Lampard, he even directly said he wanted Lampard. You can say it's all paper and agent talk but you're wrong Mourinho wanted to sign Lampard. 70 odd goals from midfield for Chelsea is a whole lot of penalties and deflections. Rooney hasn't been linked with anyone because he hasn't reached his potential yet and it would require a massive fee to get someone like Rooney or Terry, Lampard, Gerrard etc. I do agree that they're not world-class and possibly Ferdinand is as close to world class as we have but to say they would get found out in a foreign league is a ridiculous thing to say. Even player like Joe Cole, Owen Hargreaves etc could do a job for most the top sides in Europe.
  23. Lampard, Gerrard, Rooney and Terry getting found out? I guess that's why they're all so crap in the Champions League. I Agree with the first three paragraphs but that last one is total ****. Terry for example is better than any South American centre back, Lampard was wanted by the best team in Italy and Gerrard totally out classed Pirlo, Gattuo, Nesta etal in 2005.
  24. Beckham in the centre Even in his pomp he was a pretty crap central midfielder. We need Scholes back to play in the centre alongside Barry or Hargreaves, never gonna happen though.
