Sharp to take it. Every player misses one every now and again. Yes his pen wasn't as accurate as it should of been but it was on target but unfortunately the keeper chose the right way, I get more annoyed at ones that miss the goal completely. Incidentally Sharps pen miss was a carbon copy of MLT's miss against Crossley..I wonder if a thread about MLT taking the next one would of appeared after that?...

AFL is pretty **** as a sport, they guys that play are massively fit and they run twice as much as prem footballers I think in an average game, the only good thing is the fights....and its impossible to be sent off.

Blackpool found us out early enough. Let us have the ball and invite us up the pitch. Soon as they won the ball it was over/around our fullbacks within 2 or 3 passes for the quick lads to get onto. Wasnt pretty and was about as hoof as you can get 2nd half but it exposed our weaknesses really badly. Sharps penalty was a wasn't a great take, almost identical to MLT's miss against Forest all them years back, but I thought he had a decent game, nearly got in a few times but for some last ditch tackles and dodgy lino decisions. 1st loss in 12 games but we must roll with a punch and get this result out of our systems...who next but Pompey who just lost 5-1 at home..both teams will be wanting to put this weekends results behind them and it will be a close scrappy game which we will come out on top. Fans were superb though from the stream I was watching.

blimey doesn't take much to be a legend these days. Don't get me wrong he has been superb and been greatly impressed with his professionalism and performances but don't think he falls in Legend category at all.

As I see it we either go the Chelsea route or Arsenal route from about 10-15 years ago. Chelsea brought in free transfers, big names but paid decent wages to attract then. Before then they were pretty crap but Vialli, Gullit et all got a cup win or two and then Ambramovich took over and the rest is history. Arsenal brought in younger European players all about 20-24 years of age for lower wages but a bit more of an initial transfer fee. Think they got lucky a few times (Viera for example) and they turned into world class players. This is probably our transfer strategy if and when we get into the top flight to be honest. Major difference though is that they had that backline of Seaman, Keown, Adams, Winterburn and Dixon which helped a lot The other alternative is to be like Villa, Everton etc and buy rejects off the top teams, find the odd decent talent before they get sold for big bucks and constantly battle for midtable and the occasional cup win.

33 and been in Perfff nearly 7 years now. First game was 1995 and a exciting 0-0 v Sheff Weds and still have the program at home in my mums loft. Only been to one away game and we lost 3-1 to Wimbledon, can't remember the year might have been 98. Always catch a couple of home games whenever I fly back these days. Last game I saw was the Bristol City 1-0 loss....haven't lost at home for a year..I turn up and.....well say no more!
