  1. I think the chant you're refering to is, "Wotsit (Lewington) give us a wave" not Motty.
  2. Last season's was Saganowski's volley at home to PNE. John's volley agaisnt Stoke won the season before. Chris Baird's thunderbolt at home to Cardiff beat off a lot of stiff competition the season before. Beyond this I'm not sure, but I think... The year before was Theo at home to Luton. Relegation from the Prem might have been Anders at home to Blackburn. UEFA Cup season was definitely Delap's overhead at home to Spuds. Cup final season, Beattie had a few. At Newcastle, Boro and at home to WBA stick in my mind. Anders against Spuds in the cup may have won it. Year before, I think has to be John Arne Riise's header at home to Liverpool. P.S. Sorry Rickie, but Wayne Thomas get's my vote. Yesterday was a close second, followed by DC against Norwich, then Harding against Tranmere.
  3. No thanks. This at least we can agree on.
  4. I don't think he was poor, just pretty average. I didn't see anything from him which was really worthy of praise. I made a point of watching during the many dull periods, just too see if I was missing something. I can't really say that I was. I don't remember any telling passes. Never seemed to find Lallana and Puncheon in any real space (their fault too). There were no defence splitting through balls, he didn't have a hand in any of the goals, one shot way off target. Their midfield was terrible, so he scarcely had a tough job defensively. I read the OS report and the only mentions of Morgan at all were the team sheet and his booking. Maybe I just have a blind spot for CMs, but I fail to see how passing around a bit without making any noteable impact translates to 9/10. Or perhaps Chez and I are just subconsciously disagreeing on this now that Saga and Skacel have gone.
  5. Sorry, I really didn't see anything to get excited about from any of our midfielders. 9/10 for MS? He didn't make any telling passes, set up any goals or get a shot on target. Yes he put a few tackles in, but his passing was mostly sideways and fairly short range. I almost feel sorry for anyone who is impressed by that. Yesterday was a poor game of football. Even in the second half, if was only rickie making the most of two half chances and a penalty that won the game. The quality of football was dross, so I don't get how someone can come home and sing our playmaker's praises.
  6. Think that was the last Saints hattrick too.
  7. Just watched the goals on TFLS. Lamberts effort looks even better than I remember it. Was definitely a penalty too. Fonte made a comical meal of it, but was definitely caught.
  8. Gordon Bennett. Seriously? I didn't see anything special from him at all today. The first half the whole team was dreadful, just hoofing it anywhere and MS was no exception. If you think he was good, sorry, but that's just plain favouritism. Didn't have a hand in any of the goals. The first was just a hopeful hoof into the box, may even have been a goal kick. The second was the pen and the thrid was a piece of individual brilliance, not from Schneiderlin. Infact if you go on the OS report, the only mention of Schneiderlin is when he got booked. An effort into row Z towards the end of the first half was the only contribution I can remember from him. I've no idea what you saw.
  9. Agree, it's a souless place. Why they're building an upper tier I have no idea. 10k odd in their today, apparently, but it looked more like 6,000 and sounded like 15. Wotsit got a couple of chants. Didn't wave back though, ungreatful git. Liked the "only one Luke Chadwick" chant at the end. Got to feel for the poor fecker who had to pick a MOTM from their lot. They were dreadful for the forth time this season. "Let the woman referee" was good too. We were pretty quiet truth be told, considering we took 1500 up there. I was surrounded by old people who didn't seem remotely inclined to sing. First half was dreadful. Second I thought we were just as bad, but got three goals. Biggest away win since that trip to Molyneux unless I'm much mistaken... weird.
  10. More like: 5,000 people shouting "shoot" because of that belter against Ipswich 5,000 who haven't a clue why, but shout "shoot" anyway to look cool 5,000 who haven't quite got it and shout "booo" 5,000 sat there thinking 'why are they booing him' 5,000 stood at the bar in designer clobber not giving a f**k. 10,000 drowning the others out by singing endless anti-Pompey songs That leaves 9,000 who only went to the MK 2nd leg match, aren't that bothered and will never be seen again.
  11. Terrible shame. Was looking forward to 44,000 people shouting "shoot" at Wembley too.
  12. I've been to three matches against the Dons this season. My theory is; they're always sh*te when we play them.
  13. Just sat in the car at the mo. Probably the sh*ttest 3-0 win I've ever seen. :-| First half was just awful. Comparable to Wycombe. Second half, I can't remember any real chances other than the three goals. Rickie was the difference. Had 3 chances and took them. The third goal was sublime. Lobbed the 'keeper from what looked like a good 40 yards. Yet ANOTHER 'Goal of the season' candidate. Their 'keeper was at fault for the first and third, but got a hand on the penalty. Excellent trickery by Fonte of all people to win it. Went down a tad theatrically, didn't think the ref was going to give it. Kelvin made a couple of really good saves, but had precious little to did. The Dons were truly awful AGAIN. Davis - 7 Did what he had to. Only a couple of saves to make. Harding - 5 Really awkward looking job at RB and didn't look comfortable. Fonte - 7 Class act, good skills for the penalty Seaborne - 5 Can't see why we bought him based on this. Looked a bit Pseudo-Lancashire. Made mistakes and brushed off the ball at times. Mills - 7 Good performance from Fish. Some decent tackles. Puncheon - 6 Has the skills, but gave the ball away a lot in decent possitions Schneiderlin - 5 Never got going really. Too much hoof. Hammond - 6 Crap first half, seemed a bit more enthusiastic second half Lallana - 5 Looked asleep first half. Not much better second. Barnard - 4 Very quiet all game Lambert - 9 Three chances, three goals, one cracker. Can't argue with that. MOTM Subs: No really time to make an impact. Connolly looked decent on the ball, Waigo was er... offside and Wotton I don't remember touching the ball.
  14. Good grief that was awful. Just hoofing it around aimlessly. Don't think we strung two consecutive passes together all half. On the plus side, Fonte is still class and Fish has looked pretty good. That's about it though. Lallana and Morgan look like they're p--sed or something. Barnard has done nothing and Seaborne is pretty dodgy.
  15. Er, yeah that's sort of my point. :-s Doubt it. Antonio is the last player who needs a rest.
  16. Just sat down in my seat. Have to say it is a pretty nice stadium. Dug partially into the ground, bit like Bayern Munich's stadium. Apparently. Couple of worrying thoughts about the team. 1) the right back... Errrr. 2) where the flip has Antonio gone?
  17. We need experience, but it needs to be decent experience. We need experience like Lambert and Jaidi. Murty is ancient and crocked. Wotton is well past his extremely limited best.
  18. And you chose to show your respects by posting a video of him rat arsed acting like a complete tool?
  19. I think Pompey will struggle to sell any of their players to anyone with their wages. Imagine in 2005 trying to sell: Davenport - £40k a week Jackobsson - £50k a week Bernard - £50k a week McCann - £80k a week Not going to happen...
  20. It is hilarious how the people running Pompey can be sooooooo naive. Throwing the toys out of the pram because of the 9 points. In what possible way could it be argued that Pompey don't deserve the minus 9? They have bankrupt themselves paying wages and transfers they can't possibly afford. Even the administrator has said it is a terrible way to run a club. Almost as ridiculous as the idea of someone buying the club. I can't wait to see the blok who thinks, "24 CCC clubs next season, forget Forest, Leeds and Sheff Utd, I want the one with £70m of debt"
  21. I would.
  22. Yeah, them too. I'd just forgotten about them. Looking at the results, there doesn't seem to be any real correlation between the two. Didn't play against Leeds or Swindon and they were two polar opposites as far as performance goes. He also played in most of the games between Gillingham and our trip to Leeds when we had that brilliant winning run.
  23. Not sure how people have come to the conclusion that Antonio is awful and needs to go. He has been excellent in quite a few games this season. Took the p*ss out of promotion chasers like MK Dons and Bristol. He has been inconsistent, but this is mainly due to him being at Tooting and Mitcham 2 years ago. Bar a dosen games on loan at Cheltenham last season, this season is his debut in professional football. People will be saying get rid of that has been Oxlaide-Chamberlain next. Keep Antonio - Fantastic tallent IMO and on a free fransfer with low wages. Thomas - A decent, versatile, wise head who plays with his heart on his sleeve. He would probably take a pay cut, as nobody else will offer him what he's [rumour to be] currently on. Semi - Was underwhelmed when he signed, but has really impressed me so far. NO more than a 2 year deal please. Connolly - Pay as you play, one year deal only though. Waigo - Undecided, but he is a bit different up front. Release/Free Transfer Murty - Too old, too knackered Perry - Too old, too slow Pulis - Even if we have to pay half his wages for a year Molyneux - As above Forecast - As above the above Wotton - As above the abo... Holmes - Clearly not in AP's plans
  24. A great result for Fulham, but Juve aren't really all that this season. Beating Man Utd 3-0 (or was it 3-1?) earlier in this season was arguably a greater result, just less unusual.
  25. Appologies Ponty, I may be about to completely speak out of my arse here. I think we need wider, gripier tyres if anything. Having a higher percentage of mechanical grip will mean the cars overall performance will be less affected by aerodynamic interference.
