  1. Really, really like that. Smashing.
  2. I want to go and watch The Tree of Life, anyone seen it? Not sure whether it's been released over here yet, but it's had rave reviews across the board.
  3. Wrong. Massive fan of the Foos, but Nirvana were much better.
  4. I'm very poor at arguing too, dune. I often just attack the person rather than debate the point, just like you. We should form a debating club to help each other out? However sad this may seem to people, that made my day.
  5. No, I would argue that's because they write sensationalist, falsified stories about inane events and people. Face it, far more of the British public are interested in which footballer is f*cking which model than the current situation in East Africa for example - that's the kind of cr4p that papers like the Mail and the Red Tops peddle. I'll post an example of one of my favourite Express headlines:
  6. Could they not sell the suite on to somebody else?
  7. Jesus Christ, i'm not saying that The Arctic Monkeys were better than The Stone Roses! They're not a patch on them. It pains me slightly that past generations grew up with such brilliant music - the baby boomers had The Beatles, The Stones, Dylan, Hendrix etc and other generations saw the birth of punk, metal, hip-hop, grunge and countless others. My generation has very little to brag about music-wise.
  8. Those stats don't account for the number of newspaper-buying stupid people in the UK.
  9. Done mine, just waiting for Scott to get off his ar5e and accept me into the league! GK - Kasper Schmeichel (Leicester) DF - Inigo Calderon (Brighton) DF - Andy Dawson (Hull) DF - Jose Fonte (SAINTS) DF - Sean St. Ledger (Leicester) MF - Robert Snodgrass (Leeds) MF - Adam Lallana (SAINTS) MF - Don Cowie (Cardiff) MF - Matt Phillips (Blackpool) ST - Rickie Lambert (SAINTS) ST - Shane Long (Reading)
  10. Doesn't have to be an in-depth appreciation to notice that they were doing something different. Around that time I was listening to a lot of older stuff like Hendrix, Bowie, The Clash, The Who and more current stuff like Ash, Supergrass and Foo Fighters. Surely there must have been albums when you were 14 (think back now) that you heard and thought "this is different".
  11. I was 14 when the album came out (January 2006), but that doesn't mean that I wasn't into music before then and couldn't recognise that they were doing something different with that album. The albums that came after WPSIA... were very hit-and-miss, whereas almost every song on their first album was a corker. I think the fact that they headlined Glastonbury in 2007 after just one album speaks volumes about how much impact they had with that debut album. I don't know why I feel that I have to prove a point to you on this, but I guess you get off on it. I'm an altruistic kinda guy.
  12. The quality of women's football is awful...don't mean to sound sexist but there are non-league teams that play far better than most of the international teams in this WC.
  13. Their first album was a real breath of fresh air, but not a huge fan of anything they've done since tbh. Started to believe their own hype.
  14. Would prefer us to sign somebody that plays like Jaidi who's in his mid-20s rather than an injury-prone 32 year old. Still, the Swansea fans rate him very highly when he's fit and he did pretty well for us before at CB.
  15. About the 4-3-3, Swansea got promoted using that system this year and playing some very good football. We could do something like this: -------------------DAVIS------------------ BUTTERS-----FONTE-----JAIDI-----HARDING ------MORGAN----HAMMOND----CORK------ CHAMBO----------LAMBERT--------LALLANA
  16. Hmm...that's an interesting (potential) signing. Is he not about 34 by now?
  17. Why would Cork join us to play out of position? He is a CM, and he almost certainly would have had other offers had he waited a week or so to play at CM for another club.
  18. Well, I didn't get invited to go in the end. Shame, as I really admire Shirley Williams and wanted to be there when Hugh Grant when nuts at the Sun journo.
  19. Pleasure to meet you, Mr Fourpast.
  20. Cork + Schneiderlin.
  21. I went to the Brentford away game with Hamster as an enabler (not a very good one!) and had a fantastic time. Would love to do something like that in the future.
  22. If he doesn't crack, somebody else will. I have 100% confidence that the whole organisation is corrupt, right up to the top. I think this may be the beginning of the end for News International.
  23. No real loss, just another outlet for the gutter press gone. I hope the c*nts behind the disgraceful acts that have led to this closure are brought to justice - starting with Coulson.
