  1. I don't like the AV or STV systems, would much prefer the straight PR system. The other systems are just overcomplicated and confusing.

  3. Tbf, most of that team was already at Blackpool before he joined, they just needed a good motivational manager to get them going.

  5. Must say, i'm not a Tory fan, but I do have a lot of time for Ken Clarke. Would much prefer him to George 'rabbit-in-the-headlights' Osbourne, and with Cable thrown into the bargain as deputy chancellor, I can't see much going wrong there.

  9. Say what you like about him, I quite liked Brown. Thought he got a lot of unfair flak just for being PM at a difficult time for the country, although he obviously had a hand (quite a big one) in our financial demise. I just don't like Cameron, and I think he'll find it quite a tough job to win over the public and sort out the country as well.

  12. Yep. Voters are very fickle, if something doesn't have an instant effect, they don't like it. Luckily for Labour over the past 13 years, they've spent a lot of money (hence the recession) which has produced visible effects on the state of the country and the welfare of us, the British people. Otherwise, I think they might have been in trouble a lot sooner than they were. A minority Conservative government will be pretty useless, so you can expect a swing towards Labour with Miliband/Balls/Johnson/Whoever as the leader and perhaps another small swing for Lib Dems, if the memory of the last 13 years is still fresh in people's minds. It's true what people say, despite all the democratic freedoms we have and the numerous parties you can vote for, it's still a two horse race. Hopefully we can expect a bit more of an even playing field next time the vote comes around.
  13. I'll take that one BTF, if you don't mind! I don't think they'd yield that easily if Labour were offering actual reform. I'm not even sure that the Lib Dems are entirely motivated to form with the Conservatives, but they're doing it because they'd said (or Clegg said) that they'd talk with the side who got the most votes, which is only fair. I still think they're holding out for a Labour pact though, even if it is looking very unlikely.
  14. They don't seem to realise that the Lib Dems won't budge without their terms being agreed to. The Libs have nothing to lose from this really, as they'd only have a small amount of power and influence in a coalition, so they can afford to be stubborn. I'd read that it's the educational reform that's stalling talks between them at the moment, and I can see a combination of that and the PR causing a rift between the parties which will make a coalition almost impossible. Cameron will form a minority government without the Lib Dems and we'll have another general election before this time next year.
  15. It's not over yet TDD, although a LibLab pact is looking extremely unlikely at the moment, with Brown probably resigning in the next couple of days. Still think that unless Conservatives agree to the education proposals by the Lib Dems that a coalition won't happen, the Conservatives will form a minority government and we'll have another general election before another year has passed.

  19. Aside from Rooney, Joe Cole is the most technically gifted footballer in that squad. Some of the stuff he pulls off is magical. He's definitely not as good as Ronaldinho, but it's a shame that he doesn't have a regular place in the England team yet. And as for Carrick, Man Utd will be a poor side without him. Ronaldo, Carrick and Rooney were the 3 reasons that Man Utd did so well last season, and now Ronaldo's gone, Carrick is leaving and Rooney is rumoured away, Man Utd will be seriously depleted.

  21. Exactly. No point in washing your hands if you're then going to a) Push/Pull the door open on your way out (door handles are breeding grounds for bacteria) b) Handle money (riddled with germs) c) Drive a car (steering wheel) d) Have a w*nk (you want to feel as dirty as possible) Not that you could do all of those in a public toilet. Well, probably not c anyway.
