OMG - RIP. 52! No words to describe the sadness I feel
-
Fair play to you - I think your reaction to the team news was the same as pretty much everyones! One thing I've learnt with Ralph is to wait and see how it pans out. Never a dull moment as a Saints fan and the squad confidence and morale must be through the roof! Great selection problems for Ralph to have!
-
LOL - at all the folks saying what a terrible team, etc before a ball was kicked! I would have hoped we would have all learned our lessons by now and that Saints are made of sterner stuff these days!
-
As comfortable a win as Saints will ever have. As others have said, it felt as though Saints were playing well within themselves and, if needed, the pace and slick passing seen the last couple of months could have been raised a notch or two. 2 home games, 2 clean sheets and 1 shot on goal in those games.....this is a very different Saints side these days and long may it continue. The 2 full backs were exceptional, Che worked his butt off and, as said last weekend, is there a better midfield partnership right now than Romeu and JWP? Thought Broja was very poor again and should have squared for Che instead of going for goal. He really would benefit from staying at Saints (loan or buy) as he is still very raw and, while having incredible potential, needs to be at a club where he can learn and improve without the big club pressure. Lets hope this run continues until the end of the season!

"Regarding Adams and JWP, I’m happy to admit since my criticism of them, they’ve both improved. I still think JWP is vastly overrated on here but so, so. " Please tell me you are joking about JWP? If not, you are seriously in need of help. I think any team in the Prem would be improved with JWP in it. Alongside Romeu, this pairing are formidable right now.

I recall in the summer many lauding Leicester's transfer dealings. Boot is on the other foot now....Leicester going backwards and Saints on the up.

Good god! Why the micro analysis of every word uttered by Semmens. It was a heartwarming interview that shows we are (once again) being run as a well organized, structured club with a plan and a vision. It all went wrong for us last time out when Les Reed announced the strategy had changed and we started signing older, more experienced players that (on the whole) were totally duff signings. We believed our own hype. Me - I'm going to enjoy the beautiful brand of football we are playing right now (is there any team playing a more attractive style?) and not worry about what may or may not happen in 2 years time. Enjoy the moment - we all know it could come to a grinding halt at any time!

That whole segment sums up what it is to be a Saints fan: pragmatic, but with a sense of purpose and a unique way of doing things. Seeing the sheer beauty and entertainment when we are on form makes the good days even sweeter. We do feel like a club on the up - and we should enjoy players like Broja while they are here: we won't be able to keep hold of top, top talent. Feels like we are in really safe hands with Semmens at the helm. Great stuff.

We are a streaky team - either very good or very bad but this time feels different. Tactics constantly changing and the passing in tight areas of the pitch is a thing of beauty. Agree with @Whitey Grandad - looking at the games such as Leicester vs WHU we are very lucky to be watching so an exciting, young team. Takes me back to Poch's season in charge. Long may it continue - the people talking about selling JWP are looking very, very foolish right now. Thank god we tied him down to a new 5 year contract in the summer. He will be sought after in the summer. Hopefully we can get Salisu to agree to a new contract - he is the best defensive signing since VVD

Jack Stephens' passion & has he improved?

He was immense when he came on -
Agreed, really hope he agrees a new contract.
-
Really hope FF agrees a new contract. He is a good keeper and how McCarthy played ahead of him I'll never know. Immense performance all over the pitch today on very little time between games. Can't believe we have come out of City, Spurs and Utd unbeaten!
-
Wrong - he was dropped under Poch when he became billy big b****ks and his form nosedived
-
You've got be kidding right? Broja is a great prospect but 40 million is a stupid amount for someone who is just starting out.
-
Holy cow, please tell me you are not serious? He is our best player by some way and I, for one, feel the same way about JWP that I did about MLT: thankful he plays for us and has remained loyal.

What a terrible blow for the young man and I can only imagine the hell he has been through these last three years. Best of luck for the future and whatever path you choose to go down Sam. When football has been your life since the age of 8 and then it is ripped away from you at such a young age - that has to take a long time to get over. He seems grounded and intelligent so hopefully his future is bright.

Couldn't disagree more. Integrity - something that is sorely missing from Newcastle. Look at Burnley - injuries and COVID cases galore yet they still play their games and don't whinge about it. Dyche went up massively in my estimation with his pre-match conference and talking about pampered players.

At some stage the world needs to get on living (cue the hysterical tarts with 'one life lost is too many') and learn to live with this virus. Existing is not living and the amount of collateral damage caused by Europe's continual lock downs cannot be underestimated. The NHS has not been fit for purpose for decades and needs a radical overhaul. All the stats from South Africa showed that Omicron was a far milder variation and so the hysterical 1 million cases a day reporting simply was ludicrous and self-defeating. Days of the British and the stiff upper lip and and just getting on with things seems to have long passed (unfortunately).

He hasn't spelt it incorrectly. Apologize is correct, apologise is the English version. I much prefer the American version having lived over here for 11 years now.......

Absolutely going down. Cannot kill a game off ever. JWP has been awful this season and the free kick was on him and wtf was he doing playing Maupay onside. Dreadful team, dreadful manager, dreadful owners. We are royally f***ed - what the hell was the game plan in the 2nd half? If there was even one.
-
Bednarek is hopeless - their goal was a direct result of his uselessness and ending up on his backside (yet again)
-
Shambles of a 2nd half. Walcott was a terrible signing, Walker-Peters, McCarthy, Diallo have all been diabolical and there is no pace or creativity in this side. Yet Tella remains on the bench. Baffling

Hot on the heels of Farke, Dean Smith now sacked. And the Watford manager was sacked early doors. Thank goodness we finally have some stability at the club from a managerial perspective. Many, including myself, have questioned whether Ralph is the right man for the job but Semmens and co have stayed the course and believe in the 'project'. We at last have some stability and the foundations are in place (especially with Crocker) for us to start building on those foundations. What are Norwich and Villa going to do? There are not exactly great candidates out there and Norwich has a poor squad and Villa have simply spent money in the wrong areas. Look at Everton - they made a big push, failed to make any impact and now seem to be short of funds.
