  1. Yeovil wanted him to stay, he wanted to stay with them. Saints wanted him back to assess him. Looks like assessment is over and I expect Yeovil will announce him very soon.
  2. The figure in the release clause is usually the figure that will guarantee you the purchase. The only way we would have to go above it is if more than one club are prepared to pay the release figure. In most cases, we can offer (well) below that figure and ask them to consider it.
  3. If the players have confidence in him and want him to stay, that says a lot to me. I'm not a fan of player power, but good working relationships are very important in any employment. If we choose not to offer the role to Hughes and offer it to a.n.other, we are back to square one.
  4. Why so long? Why not offer a rolling annual contract? At the end of each season, review and if both parties want to do another year, then continue. I am on a rolling 6 month contract in my job and I am happy with that. It keeps the incentive on the employee to work hard. In this case, if the relationship with the players has turned sour then the directors don't offer the next year. We can't go on offering 3 year deals, then cutting them short after 1 year and paying huge payouts.
  5. Disappointed to hear that. Don't like giving our corn seed away free.
  6. Couldn't agree more. He is currently what the Americans call our MVP. We can't afford to let him go, he's been sensational.
  7. Southampton want to sign Celta Vigo winger Pione Sisto, 23. The Denmark international has a £36m release clause in his contract. (Mail) Southampton's Moroccan winger Sofiane Boufal, 24, spoke of his desire to return to the French league just a day after the Premier League season concluded. (SFR Sport)
  8. OK, he's going to Swindon then.
  9. Jokanavic would be good. If Fulham can't progress tonight, maybe we could make an offer for him, Targett and Sessegnon, plus Cairney, Mitrovic et al..... maybe we could just make Fulham our feeder/partner club.
  10. You writing your own editorials now, Dusan? Tell us what you would like to do. You can see you have our support.
  11. Agree. In no sell list, no matter how angry I am, has Yoshida ever appeared. One of the first names on my Retain List
  12. What an idiot. We are playing at home, so it will have to finish Southampton 0 Man City 7. Such appalling inaccuracy.
  13. Nice one, Crouchie, let's have another one!
  14. Who is playing tomorrow then? I'm looking forward to the Sunday game.
  15. One of the greats. Still have the 12" in my garage. Fab B side too - Rain Forest. Big Hardcastle fan.
  16. Your comment is one of the worst things I have seen. Next season will tell us if Gallagher is for us, but not sending him on loan or selling him. Austin - pah.
  17. Not difficult at all. We keep him. This is the year he needs to play regularly for us. I would release Austin to make that happen. Keep Targett. Reed - undecided.
  18. In the struggle to stay in the Premier League, Southampton no longer relies on Sofiane Boufal since April 14. The former Lille striker, who had an altercation with his coach, is forced to train alone or with the U23. Under contract until 2021, Sofiane Boufal has been sidelined from Southampton's professional workforce (squad) since April 14th. That day, the Saints lost 3-2 to Chelsea after leading 2-0. Returning to the locker room, Mark Hughes criticized the French-Moroccan striker for having warmed up too slowly late in the game. Boufal told his manager to stop making him responsible for the defeat even though he did not even come into play. The tension accelerated between the two men. They had to be separated by the players and the staff. The next day, Boufal apologized to Hughes and the group. The manager accepted it, but not the dressing room. They asked the leaders that Boufal does not train anymore with the pros. That request was accepted, so Boufal is forced to train alone or with the U23. He apologizes a second time before going to Leicester on April 19th. Hughes wishes to reinstate him The manager wants to reinstate him, but not the leaders, always influenced by some players. Since, Boufal ‘corrodes his brake’(aka goes to rot) in silence so as not to disturb the end of the season of Southampton, their battle for their staying in the Premier League. The Saints, who still have two games to play, have as many points as the first relegation candidates Swansea (33), but a better goal difference.
  19. Agree with that. We should be mining the talent from the Champo and developing it for Liverpool to pay us £50M for in a year's time! Wahey!
  20. No-one want to take a punt on Kevin Wimmer, ex-Tottenham? Going cheap? Asda cheap.
  21. Hate to go all MLG pedantic on you .... But take the word 'point' out of the thread title. There's no 9 points on offer. It's a 9 goal swing or more accurately a 10 goal advantage needed. Will it happen? Probably not ... probably ...
  22. That is good.

Leicester Vice Chairman Aiyawatt Srivaddhanaprabha said: "Players like Robert have been so important to our club in the last three years, not just for his qualities as a footballer, but for his qualities as a character. "He’s a leader, a winner and a player whose commitment to the team has made him equally popular among our players and our supporters. His status as a Leicester City great is very much secure."
  24. Then it goes to the Fair Play table, and Swansea went bottom last night with the hotel and coach fiasco.
