  1. I would want to keep him, but I do agree that he would be dropping down the pecking list if we brought in other CB. Unless there is officially a rotation to everyone plays (say) 30 games.
  2. So, any news on this fella?
  3. I work with a number of Reading fans here in the office. They would love him back, but they are potless. They just choked on 500k for a striker, Mark someone. What do we want? 10M? Honestly, we'd have to ask no more than 1M for Reading to look up.
  4. Carillo is offski, so use Gallagher this season. If he doesn't make the grade, then look to sell next year. But don't sell without giving him his chance, please.
  5. Fonte came back from the Euros and thought we owed him. I bet we see a different attitude from Maya. Personally, I'd like to see him given a guard of honour and we can all stand to applaud him into the pitch .... but I am a soppy sentimentalist, I know. Maybe we could just show our appreciation when he is on the ball.
  6. 11:27 MORE FROM SOUTHAMPTON… Southampton are also understood to be happy to listen to offers for winger Sofiane Boufal – another player to miss out on the club’s Far East trip. We understand a number of clubs have approached Southampton, who will consider letting the Moroccan forward leave either on loan or on a permanent deal. Boufal joined Claude Puel’s Southampton from Lille in 2016 for a then club record £16m. He failed to feature as they survived the drop with three wins in their last ten games. The Argentinian forward wants to play regularly but does not figure in Mark Hughes’ first team plans and the 27-year old will move to La Liga club Leganes on loan either later today or tomorrow. Carrillo joined Southampton from Monaco in January, in a £19m club-record deal. However, he failed to score in 10 appearances for manager Mauricio Pellegrino, who prioritised the signing of his fellow Argentine.
  7. Really? The result we wanted? I would have preferred to play Japan rather Colombia
  8. I would agree with the OP, keep Tadic, buy Mitro, sell Carillo. This is like a sports version of "snog, marry, avoid."
  9. It's a good offer, if we want to start selling all our corn seed. I hope we don't want that.
  10. I watched the vid and thought he looked useful. Raw speed, bit wayward but if he could be coached, he could be an asset.
  11. Agree, and not sure Wilshere is a good option for us/anyone. High wages which have to be paid all the time for someone only available half the time. He didn't impress at Bournemouth really. Anyway, he will have suitors of higher rank than us.
  12. I do. I said to the guy on the next desk to me "this is simply putting a price tag on him so Fulham know what they are asked to pay." If they balk at it, then it's offers in a sealed envelope time.
  13. BREAKING NEWS Newcastle are prepared to sell Aleksandar Mitrovic this summer and want £20m for the striker, according to Sky sources. Mitrovic spent the second half of last season on loan at Fulham and scored 12 goals in 20 matches as they secured promotion to the Premier League via the Sky Bet Championship play-offs. The 23-year-old, who is currently preparing for the World Cup with Serbia, has two years remaining on his contract at St James’ Park. Get in there, Saints!!!
  14. 12:46 FENERBAHCE, SAINTS INTERESTED IN ALCACER Fenerbahce are leading Southampton in the race to sign Barcelona striker Paco Alcacer, according to Sporx. The Saints are keen to land Alcacer, who is surplus to requirements at Barca, but they will have to fend off strong competition from Fenerbahce to secure his signature. The Turkish side are boosted by the fact that their president Ali Koc has a good relationship with his Barcelona counterpart Josep Maria Bartomeu. Southampton, meanwhile, are reportedly willing to pay €20m to sign the former Valencia forward.
  15. My prediction of July 23rd, rush buy of Gareth Barry, is starting to look more realistic now innit ....
  16. My informant tells me no signings until 2019. Is it time I stopped listening to the voices in my head?
  17. Any particular signing you can name? Or just a crystal ball type "a tall dark handsome stranger will come into your life"? It is highly likely a signing will take place within 14 days yes. But we want specifics. Love and light.
  18. 15:55BREAKING NEWS Sky Sports News understands West Brom defender Jonny Evans has agreed to join Leicester after they met his relegation release clause. The fee of £3.5m is to be paid in two instalments. Heavens above, Leicester need to pay for this on the knock?
  19. The release clause is low, clearly, but talk of an agents fee on top of that, so that's why I quoted a range. £7-8M would get us the player financially. Just a case then of whether another suitor attracts him more.
  20. How about Johnny Evans for £3-5M? Skilled, yes, experienced, yes. Make him a regular, give him the captaincy.
