  1. That's 4-2-3-2, so 12 men with the goalkeeper. I like that approach if we can get away with it.
  2. That's fair comment. He's a good 'out' ball when we are under the cosh and need him to just relieve the pressure for a couple of minutes.
  3. Brighton (a) - Cup - defeat Palace (a) - draw Brighton (h) - draw Liverpool (a) - defeat Wolves (a) - defeat
  4. —————Gunn Bednarek - Stephens -Yoshida-Targett --------- Hoijberg ------- Romeu ---- JWP—Armstrong—Gabbiadini —-------—Gallagher -------------------
  5. I'd have to re-read Batman's summary on the Leiecester thread, but I think MH said future loans would include a recall in Jan. Not sure if the Sims loan includes it, it may of course. The Reading fan in the office doesn't know either way, he assumes they have him for season but it may be we have the right to recall in Jan.
  6. With questions over our DM's currently and no defined #2 RB, I would have kept Reed, personally. He could get in the side and prove himself.
  7. Yes, I frowned at that too. I think either Batman shortened the typing, or Mark misspoke, but I assume he meant "There has been a number of enquiries from the championship regarding loaning our younger players"
  8. Will we? Any chance we will have everyone's top 2 choices - Messrs Yoshida and Vestergaard - shirted and booted for this one?
  9. Boro & Villa seem to be linked with a loan move for every footballer on two legs. I know they are brasso, but surely there is a loan fee to pay as well as wages. I'm hoping we keep Targett, and Gallagher.
  10. 1. Vestergaard 2. Yoshida 3. Bednarek 4. Stephens 5. Hoedt
  11. More importantly, I am concerned at his hair loss over the summer. Nothing good can follow if you lose cranial hair, you ask Samson.
  12. Like many of you, disappointed with this particular loan out. At least it's to a local side and we can monitor his progress. Talked with a Reading season ticket holder in the office earlier and gave him an introduction to Josh. However, he tells me that they are also trying to get Nathan Dyer in on loan, so potentially fighting for a place before he starts! Anyway, hopefully he will get a regular place and I will be back with feedback from the Reading camp.
  13. Agree with both comments. EXCESSIVE FORCE overrides "whether he got the ball." Dermot Gallagher has time on his hands now to keep up with the current laws of the game.
  14. MH praises Sam yet doesn't include him in the matchday squad's - actions speak louder than words, Mark. Beginning to look as if he will go on a late loan. Hope Hughes give him some time against Leicester then realises he should stay.
  15. See post #40 Eric. We are not on TV.
  16. What a divvi. 50/50 challenge my ass!
  17. -------------McCarthy-------------- Cedric-Vest--Yoshida-Bertrand -----------Hoejberg--Lemina------------ ---------------Armstrong--------------- ----Moi-------Ings--------Gabbi------
  18. Haha, yeah. I don't want to hear "we are growing" or "we are learning lessons" or any other nebulous phrase.
  19. It's an odd one. The top teams - well, Chelsea anyway play 3 CB and 2 wing backs and it makes them better. Yet when we try it, it's a mess. Why?
  20. That's my concern too. I see Ings as an additional striker, but if we lose Gallagher as a result, then I think it's a step backwards.
  21. Oooh, post from our resident ITK. But .... with 35 mins left, no time for a fitness test, which Ings would NEED! Unless we really think 3 star jumps at the terminal is enough of a test?
  22. So far, as at 1:13pm, we are resisting approaches for JWP and Targett - good Now, Saints, please don't weaken on Gallagher - we need him this season. Lock him inside his front door and take the key away!
  23. Or are they? Strange goings on tonight re this. According to what I read, he signed the contract to join Villa tonight, then his agent got the call from Fulham saying they would better Villa's offer so the agent told Bryan to get in his car and head to Fulham. Villa claim the contract is signed and will register him, so if Fulham really want him they may have to buy him from Villa at a higher price. Let's see where this ends up tomorrow. If we let them have Targett, then Villa keep Bryan.
  24. Can't criticise SNSUN's line up ... but for me you can't beat 4-2-3-1 Team would be: ---------------------McCarthy---------------------- Cedric-----Yoshida (RF) ----Vestergaard (LF)-----Bertrand -------------Lemina----------Romeu----------------------- Elynoussi -------Armstrong-----Gabbiadini ------ -----------------------Austin------------------------ However, MH seems determined to go with 3 CB, so : Team would be: ---------------------McCarthy---------------------- Bednarek (RF) -----Yoshida ----Vestergaard (LF) Cedric ---------------------------------------------Bertrand --------Lemina/Romeu ------------------ ------- Elynoussi -------Armstrong ------- ------------Austin------ Gabbiadini ------------ Backup 11: Gunn Reed Targett Stephens Hoedt Hoejberg Ward-Prowse Sims Redmond Long Gallagher
