  1. Is that a fact? I'll check out the Wykeham Arms on Friday night and confirm back. (That's the usual Winchester-based players hostelry, it seems)
  2. It's an odd line up, f'sure. Would have preferred to see Gallagher up top, Gabbi on the left in the 3, Armstrong central. Why we aren't playing square pegs in square holes, beats me.
  3. I would recommend parking at close as you can to Lewes rail station now. Then get the short train ride to the stadium (Falmer.)
  4. Apparently so, according to their website. They run courtesy buses from there. Assume away fans can park there and use the buses too?
  5. That's 4-2-3-2, so 12 men with the goalkeeper. I like that approach if we can get away with it.
  6. That's fair comment. He's a good 'out' ball when we are under the cosh and need him to just relieve the pressure for a couple of minutes.
  7. Brighton (a) - Cup - defeat Palace (a) - draw Brighton (h) - draw Liverpool (a) - defeat Wolves (a) - defeat
  8. —————Gunn Bednarek - Stephens -Yoshida-Targett --------- Hoijberg ------- Romeu ---- JWP—Armstrong—Gabbiadini —-------—Gallagher -------------------
  9. I'd have to re-read Batman's summary on the Leiecester thread, but I think MH said future loans would include a recall in Jan. Not sure if the Sims loan includes it, it may of course. The Reading fan in the office doesn't know either way, he assumes they have him for season but it may be we have the right to recall in Jan.
  10. With questions over our DM's currently and no defined #2 RB, I would have kept Reed, personally. He could get in the side and prove himself.
  11. Yes, I frowned at that too. I think either Batman shortened the typing, or Mark misspoke, but I assume he meant "There has been a number of enquiries from the championship regarding loaning our younger players"
  12. Will we? Any chance we will have everyone's top 2 choices - Messrs Yoshida and Vestergaard - shirted and booted for this one?
  13. Boro & Villa seem to be linked with a loan move for every footballer on two legs. I know they are brasso, but surely there is a loan fee to pay as well as wages. I'm hoping we keep Targett, and Gallagher.
  14. 1. Vestergaard 2. Yoshida 3. Bednarek 4. Stephens 5. Hoedt
  15. More importantly, I am concerned at his hair loss over the summer. Nothing good can follow if you lose cranial hair, you ask Samson.
  16. Like many of you, disappointed with this particular loan out. At least it's to a local side and we can monitor his progress. Talked with a Reading season ticket holder in the office earlier and gave him an introduction to Josh. However, he tells me that they are also trying to get Nathan Dyer in on loan, so potentially fighting for a place before he starts! Anyway, hopefully he will get a regular place and I will be back with feedback from the Reading camp.
  17. Agree with both comments. EXCESSIVE FORCE overrides "whether he got the ball." Dermot Gallagher has time on his hands now to keep up with the current laws of the game.
  18. MH praises Sam yet doesn't include him in the matchday squad's - actions speak louder than words, Mark. Beginning to look as if he will go on a late loan. Hope Hughes give him some time against Leicester then realises he should stay.
  19. See post #40 Eric. We are not on TV.
  20. What a divvi. 50/50 challenge my ass!
  21. -------------McCarthy-------------- Cedric-Vest--Yoshida-Bertrand -----------Hoejberg--Lemina------------ ---------------Armstrong--------------- ----Moi-------Ings--------Gabbi------
  22. Haha, yeah. I don't want to hear "we are growing" or "we are learning lessons" or any other nebulous phrase.
  23. It's an odd one. The top teams - well, Chelsea anyway play 3 CB and 2 wing backs and it makes them better. Yet when we try it, it's a mess. Why?
  24. That's my concern too. I see Ings as an additional striker, but if we lose Gallagher as a result, then I think it's a step backwards.
