Clyne had 24 league appearances, 3 FA cup and 1 league cup = 29 Chambers had 22 league and 3 league cup appearances = 25 I could have sworn Clyne was first choice most of the time, except when injured. Not all those appearances are starts ;-)

Well said. It really annoys me how much credit Poch is given for our "exciting to watch, high scoring" football. Like most of the pundits, a Guardian article yesterday praised him for that, mentioning winning the Man city game as pivotal. No mention of the 1st game of the season v city under Adkins. Coming back from behind twice, scoring 2 goals.... We were scoring plenty playing attractive football before Poch, but we were letting in too many goals. He certainly improved our defence, and ultimately our form, but the scoring declined, even with the high tempo pressing, and I saw a lot of dull and frustrating 'possession based' football. I for one don't enjoy watching all that sideways/backwards passing and Chuckle brothers crap. It's statistical fact that RK has improved our defence massively compared to Poch, and we play more attractive and exciting football as well.

Really struggle to find a MOM today - Tim Howard? We really are poor ATM. No goal threat at all. The number of misplaced passes was shocking, and we clearly weren't bothered about pressing. Didn't play it out from the back once; far too many hoofs. Elia kept losing the ball, and the midfield were not good. Pellé's holdup play was poor, as were our corners. I'd rather see Long on the end of crosses than making them. One of our poorest performances for me.
