    History

Every club has history, some more than others and some have an illustrious past which can be looked back on with pride however the most important thing is the here and now. It matters not one jot how good you were 1 year, 5 years or 50 years ago because that won't have any impact on today. You play today to get tomorrow's history.
  4. As a main kit maybe, but Palace and Man City both have a sash on their second kit

  6. Or are they? http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/8622207.Photo_gallery_from_Saints_win_over_Shrewsbury/?ref=rss Are they printing someone else's pictures? They certainly appear to be the Echo's own pictures.

  12. Sentence is highlighted; this is lifted from the following document under the heading of tickets. (http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/staticFiles/5f/44/0,,10280~148575,00.pdf) • In a continuing effort to strive for wider access to matches, the club will offer: - a broad range of ticket prices and hospitality prices. - Junior prices to those supporters 16 and under on 1st august 2009 in all parts of the ground. this will be further broken down into supporters aged 12 and under and 8 and under to provide a really competitive and cost effective pricing structure. - Senior prices to those supporters aged 60 or over on 1st august 2009 in all parts of the ground. - a young adult price to cover supporters aged 17-21. - an enlarged family enclosure for the use of families and juniors alike. this is discounted compared to other stands to encourage family attendance. - facilities for disabled supporters and their enablers. these can be booked at the ticket offi ce in person or by telephone. - a payment plan for season tickets to make them cost-effective. • If a match is postponed in advance of the scheduled match day, supporters will be entitled to use their ticket(s) for the rearranged match or to request a full refund. if a match is postponed after supporters are admitted to the ground, but before kick off, ticket holders will be entitled to free entry to the re-arranged fi xture. if a match is abandoned after kick off, ticket holders will be entitled to purchase tickets at half price for the re-arranged fi xture. • Refunds for tickets will be granted in exceptional circumstances only, and such requests are considered on an individual basis and any such acceptance will not be considered as granting of a precedent. • Ticket prices for cup competitions will be agreed with the opposing club and published fully using the available club media. for home cup fi xtures, season ticket holders will be given a priority period to claim their seat. other tickets will be sold as published at the appropriate time. • Tickets can be purchased for all home and away games via the Box offi ce at St mary’s, via the telephone booking line and online. • Tickets for away fi xtures will normally be made available to season ticket holders to purchase in the fi rst instance, followed by general sale. on occasions, where demand is likely to outstrip supply, the club will look to operate a loyalty system based on previous away fi xture attendance. at this time, supporters will be required to submit a written application for tickets, although the club reserves the right to vary this at any time. • Travel is provided for home supporters to travel to away games. all travel is made available at cost price with no profit to the club. To contact The Club with any suggestions or feedback on Ticketing, email SupporterCharter@saintsfc.co.uk, putting Ticketing as the subject. HTH. Mrs Neil and me will find it hard to find a way of stumping up £393 each, which if I recall correctly, is £60 more than last seasons renewal figure.
  13. I think we should carry on and seize the opportunity;) I also agree, there were times that Harding worried me. There were times when he did get skinned and there were also times when by rights he should have been pulled up for fouls in the penalty area (can't remember the games concerned but it was something that made me think that we had got away with it - again). If AP thinks that the position can be improved and a player is available he should take that opportunity.
  14. Thanks for that, we're heading into town now.
  15. Mrs Neil and me are two of those transit passengers currently stuck in Dubai. We should have got home on Friday and we should be going to Yeovil this afternoon (two match tickets and two bingo bus tickets going to waste!). We would rather not be here, it has been rather stressful and whilst Emirates have put us up in the Millenium Hotel, how long will their generosity last?
  16. Nothing new there mate. He's quite often dressed like that at St. Marys. Still a daft thread though - and I'm contributing!
  17. Having looked into this, it is expensive - can't remember all the in's and out's but you do need some fancy equipment to get sky onto a computer in digital format directly from the sky box. I have a dvd recorder and made a couple of copies of the Derby-Saints play off game a couple of years ago -via Scart from Sky HD box to DVD recorder - the quality is OK bearing in mind that it is being converted from digital to analogue in the Sky box and then converted from analogue to digital in the DVD recorder. Can't remember who I sent them to but maybe if they're reading this they can say what they think. I will be copying the JPT final in a couple of weeks time (off on hols on Saturday) so would be happy to send on copies. Unfortunately I can't pm cos I'm too mean to spend a fiver - I'm not that prolific a poster and I am not bothered by the ad's.
  18. Lyrics to The Saints Are Coming : I cried to my daddy on the telephone how long now Until the clouds unroll and you come home the line went But the shadows still remain since your descent your descent The saints are coming, the saints are coming No matter how I try, I realise there's no reply The saints are coming, the saints are coming A drowning sorrow floods the deepest grief How long now Until a weather change condemns belief The stone says This paternal guide once had his day Once had his day The saints are coming, the saints are coming No matter how I try, I realise there's no reply The saints are coming, the saints are coming [ The Saints Are Coming Lyrics on http://www.lyricsmania.com/ ]

  20. You would think that if the injury was that bad that there would have been blood on his shirt or blood seeping through the bandage but I can assure you (I sit in the centre of the Itchen stand) that there was no sign of any of the red stuff. What most of you would also have missed was the player going down the tunnel on his own apparently none the worse for the collision on the field or him removing the bandage has he entered the tunnel. Of course the bandage might have been causing him pain because it was wrapped tightly in which case I may be doing the lad a disservice. Nevertheless it was the most inept refereeing display that I have ever had the misfortune to have witnessed - I am just pleased that the overall result was not affected.
  21. A while ago on the telly, someone with a brain the size of a small planet explained that each lottery draw was a unique event and the odds of winning remained the same for every draw. Simply put it meant that it didn't matter what 6 numbers you chose, whether they were the same or different every week, the chance of winning was a constant. Therefore (and I am truly sorry about this) you are not likely to win (ever!). The most reliable way to make money from the lottery is to take your stake money and invest it in a good savings account and not play the lotto - the only downside to this is you definitely won't get rich.
  22. It's my birthday on the 15th. Am I going to get the best present ever?
