  2. re: Post Dated Cheques: Mrs Neil works for a building society and informs me that writing a post dated cheque is illegal. She also said that there is nothing stopping the payee presenting said cheque to their bank and if that bank does not notice the wrong date they will put it in the system. If you have sufficient funds in your account then there is every chance that the cash will be withdrawn. If you don't then you will be hit with bank charges. I only post this as a warning - you write a post dated cheque at your risk, it might still be cashed. I fall into the should we/shouldn't we 'b' category. We have prime position seats at the moment and are loathe to give them up, yet, nothing has really encouraged us to consider renewing yet - the team are playing some mediocre football and there seems little liklihood that there will be any improvement if the current situation is left as it is (ie the head coach/playing youth over experience/crazy decisions made at boardroom level).
  3. Just got back (to the Isle of Wight), phucking traffic in Brizzle - nightmare - best part of an hour just to get to the M4!. Agree with Griffo, we tried but the final product is not there. Is it confidence? is the manager telling them to play a certain way? (if he is, it is no different to the last cloggie) - whatever it is, it was another ineffective display. Very disappointed with Andrew Surman, he was poor today - his corners were cut out far too easily - I would leave him out now. Thought Lloyd James had a good game although he does need to get his crosses in from the bye-line if he is to be more effective. Defence did OK, Saeijs again made some very timely challenges. Thought the penalty was harsh and the booking for Rudi (played well) even more so - maybe the telly will show what really happened. Good save from Kelvin anyway. Another plus was Adam Lallana - he did OK today and a big improvement on some of his recent displays. But as everyone else has said I honestly can't see where the next points are going to come from. If no-one can convert the chances (and there were a few today) then it is stating the bleedin' obvious that we ain't gonna win. And finally - how many police do you need at a game - looked like the whole of the Avonmouth Constabulary was there! Horses, dogs and hundreds of piggies!!
  4. No, No & thrice No!!!
  5. You wish!
  6. Ted Bates - no questions, no debate! A True Diamond.
  7. For what it's worth, I also speculated some time back that there appeared more than one person using the SB user name. I don't remember who, but someone else replied that they too had had similar thoughts. Sundance's retort was "Priceless!" and other belittling comments. I can't refer to the actual posting because it was on the previous incarnation of this site. Whatever the facts are, I can't say that I take much notice of his posts or indeed that of Numpteen Canteen if they are indeed one and the same!
  8. When Michael Wilde and Leon Crouch called the egm and effectively got rid of old board, Askam, Richards and the rest of the lavender hill mob bought an executive box for the season. Just as "Leon & Lawrie" is over their box, the lavender hill mob had "Ex-Directory" over theirs. HTH.
  9. Not such a good picture this time - four members of Hampshire's finest were on patrol in front of the director's box for the whole of the match. (money well spent I would say - NOT!)
  10. Just before kick-off - wouldn't come out!!! but did take his seat as they kicked off. celebrations after the first goal
  11. Freudian slip maybe? If you are Leon, I sincerely hope that you can remove Lowe, Wilde and all the other cadavers that have been hanging on to the club for far too long!
  12. Excellent!! Well done Smithers :smt005
  13. That person is Mike Richards - a director of SFC - and it was he who shook the hands of the Doncaster contingent at the end of the game, a task which he seemed to relish, judging by the stupid grin that he was wearing. One of the Lavender Hill Mob - tossеrs the lot of 'em!
  14. Bet you can't! - The person sitting next to Wotte (am I doing here?) is female (was wearing big earings, even though you can't see them in this picture, and I don't know any bloke that would wear them to a football match!). This picture was taken at 6 minutes to 5 on Saturday 17th January just before the final whistle blew. Notice that Askham is looking towards the Northam end whereas most others are looking towards the Chapel end. Protests getting to him perhaps?
  15. Lowe, looking at Wilde, is just thinking "You are so SO gullible, and what the hell do you know about football anyway?"
  16. No reason to accept defeat, there is no doubt that someone is running one or two computers with an automated script that keeps bashing Neil Lennon. By running an automated script it is possible to bash someone as many as three - four million times in a week! (provided you don't want to do anything else on the pc). Anyone who is interested in having their computer bash Rupert without having to lift a finger can use a free macro tool called AutoHotKey (http://www.vnunet.com/vnunet/downloads/2172507/autohotkey or http://www.oatsoft.org/Software/AutoHotKey). It is fairly simple to set up (and I will happily share the coding that I used to get it to work).
