  1. You are such an optimist!! (But here's hoping)
  2. Are you sure? - possibly you have a bad link. Try this http://www.londonstockexchange.com/exchange/prices-and-news/stocks/summary/company-summary.html?fourWayKey=GB0007922114GBGBXAIM
  3. http://www.dailyecho.co.uk/sport/saints/news/4408515.Five_year_plan_for_Saints_to_get_back_to_the_Premier_League/?ref=rss Paragraph 12 "All of the due diligence has actually been completed. The extra period is purely for the legal aspects and clearly there’s football matters that need to be taken care of as well." One of you is wrong and it could be you!
  4. Never nice for anyone who must know that their job is on the line and there is absolutely nothing they can do about it. He has maintained the same dignified & committed approach that Nigel Pearson showed at the end of the previous season (when he too must have known that his job was in doubt). What Wotte will also know is that by taking this approach to the current situation he will not be jeopardising any future employment opportunities, indeed it can only enhance his chances. I wish him well for the future and think that he will find employment elsewhere quite quickly. It is of little consolation but he will surely know that football managment is a precarious occupation and that very very few people stay at one club for long (and his successor will only be doing to him what he did to his predecessor). As most posters have already stated, we need a change from top to bottom, new management & new players and that should bring a new attitude which I do hope will bring the success that this club needs.
  5. http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/olympics/sir-clive-woodward-alchemist-on-hunt-for-more-gold-nuggets-1686181.html Paragraph 19 - ".....it's sad what has happened there. They are a great club but it just shows that if you get it wrong off the field you'll never get it right on it, and they've been getting it wrong off the field for a long time." Regardless of what you think of Clive Woodward, he is intimating that the management at Southampton Football Club was poor (and I agree with him on this).
  6. Oops - that should be BIGGER not wot I wrote - but I can't edit - sorry for any offence caused!
  7. Curious! For many years (and I'm thinking right back to Phil Boyer now) many players have left Southampton for bugger and better things. I often thought how unreal it was that those players who left because they wanted to rather than were let go were hurt or drifted into obscurity. Here are a few that I can think of, I know there are more: Phil Boyer - broke a leg not long after leaving Saints for Man City and I don't think he really played again. Steve Williams - not a raging success at Arsenal Mick Channon - Didn't achieve much at Man City and made a welcome return to the South Coast. Alan Shearer - nasty leg injuries (although eventually recovered) Dean Richards - as has already been mentioned Hassan Kachloul - A success at Villa - don't think so. Richard Hall - again a meteoric rise to his career - NOT. Yep, we have often joked about "the Southampton Curse" at home, just didn't think that anyone else had made the same connection. Oh yeah, what about Lawrie - good move going to Sunderland!
  8. I thought the old joke was "What's the difference between Saints and a bucket of poo?" The Bucket! Here's another one (which may have been written on the forum already) "This global warming is becoming extremely worrying. Only last weekend it was sunny in Portsmouth yet it was minus 10 in Southampton!" You'd laugh if wasn't so unfunny.
  9. Agree - this is the only thing that I could think of at the time.
  10. Just an observation so probably best not to get your hopes up too much but he sat at the back of the 'away' section in the directors box. He was with someone (don't know who) and stayed there during half time (most retreat into the hospitality area).
  11. Speak to Radio Hampshire. I was listening while watching in the ground and I am fairly confident that they said there was one minute of injury time left just before the incident. They also seem as confused as everyone else in the ground because they were unsure if the ref had blown for the foul or time. The whole officiating crew were total pants and should be struck off their respective lists although I doubt much will happen. HTH.
  12. Close up
  13. Your wish is my command! He was here and this lot were in the Directors Box (no sign of Mr Burns again) The Mayor & his good lady are in the front row. Again LM & LC are in their own private box and not in the directors area. Not sure that there are any new faces (don't know and can't guess who the chap who is behind the lady who stands between David Jones & John Mortimer) Anthony Salz is definitely not there (again).
  14. It is possible that I have missed them, but as I sit right in front of the Directors Box and partake in the sport "spot the celeb in the posh seats"! (and take pictures to post here) I can't recall seeing either LM or LC in there. Richards has been there for both games since admin, Askham was not there for the last home game. This is in no way meant to defend or decry anyone, just an observation.
  15. Reading - best game I've seen this season I think Preston - I remember sitting next to Mrs Neil and at half time the optimists around us were singing "We're gonna win 3 - 2" and I said to her 'yeah, right! of course they are' in the most sarcastic way possible. How big that grin was on my face at full time can't be measured - it almost hurt. Derby - For a short while after I thought the season would turn out differently to what I had initially expected (after the shenanigans of all the Dutch nonsense). Mind you, Derby weren't at the races that day!
  16. 1st - Coventry - left early 2nd - Swansea - left early 3rd - Bristol City - 'kin filth everywhere! others mentioned on here (Palace, Wolves, Wednesday - can't comment, didn't go)
  17. I don't speak to God, but on South Today last night, Roger Johnson said the match was definitely going to happen. Not saying he is right and I am hoping that you are wrong. As for takeovers - the fact that we are hearing nothing does not surprise me - if you were heading up a takeover bid, would you broadcast it to the world before the deal was struck and risk losing it?
  18. This lot!
  19. Can't edit the above, but if you also look at the far right of the same picture, there is a chap looking towards his right. John Motson sat next to him, perhaps this other chap was Motty's host, I don't know.
  20. Look at the first picture. Look at the clock. The fella walking to the right, looking down, holding a programme, wearing a pin-stripe suit. That is John Motson!
  21. http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/articles/article.php?page_id=11438 (Crystal Palace on Monday 13th April 2009 This game will have a "Kids for a Quid" promotion. All supporters 16 and under will pay just £1 for their tickets.) Oh dear, a mouth and foot convergence!
  22. Nah. The gelding wasn't there. look at the guy, far left of the picture, spiky hair! - that takes some balls to go out looking like that!!
