Well it is shocking, but not as shocking as the stnuc who killed Ben Kinsella (and other humans). As we accept our complete dominion over the animal world by killing and eating them I can't see myself getting worked up by this until we get to a point where humans getting stabbed is a rare event.

There's a place for unions - such as protecting workers from exploitation, giving a voice and whatever. In the 80s I supported the miners against Thatch, as it really was their livelihood at risk. However (adopting Self righteous brothers voice) if those RMT lot were on fire I wouldn't **** on them!! They are taking the mickey big style and now is the time to adopt a stance whereby we simply sack them all, re-employ those who want to do the job without going on strike (even give them the same money they're on), train up some new people and accept that the underground will be closed for 6 months. Suspend congestion charge for the same period.

Apart from SWF which website do you visit most fequently?

It's actually quite slick and would require a more skilled person than me to persuade someone 'that way inclined' to not vote for them. The only glaring thing I noticed is the complete whiteness of all the people in their adverts - particularly the one of the doctors. All other adverts we see, if containing more than one person, will always have a diversity agenda (there's one for Pennine Telecom round where I live with a picture of 4 people (chinese, black, woman, disabled black chinese woman etc) which I think is overly and unnecessarily tokenistic. However, by seeing these all white pictures, I find it very uncomfortable because it doesn 't reflect the society I live in and I don't want it to. I work and am friends with many non white people - BNP voters don't live in all white bubbles and I'm sure most who voted for them think the BNP race policy is directed at faceless Afghani terrorists beating down the door for benefits. Seems to me that BNP would want to get rid of Aki in accounts or Dave the salesman because they don't fit into their ads. -
They only want 5% pay rise, less hours and guaranteed job for life, bless the poor oppressed £40k a year souls.

I'll say 'No', the opening game of the season will not be off. That means there's only 'Yes' or 'Maybe' left in the sweepstake.

Kin ell. YOU may know it, your mates might know it. Why didn't you ring the police or the programme rather than put it here - look at your self.
-
Think this is worth a clap-hands smiley.
-
It's ok to do this sort of thing now as the BNP are in power.

Does that mean you're paying a negatively exponential amount? Until such time as they discover it's too costly to claim the 0.000256 pence from you and give you eternal membership?

I seem to remember a plane ditching near a pacific island, where survivors walked to the beach (about 10 years ago?) - also the Hudson event. Are there any other incidents of ditiching in the sea where anybody has survived? A potential urban myth I've heard is that there is zero chance of surviving if the plane goes down in the sea.

I was going to suggest an intricate system of tubes leading to a (small or large depending on preference) bottle of vodka stored 'mule' like up the jacksey. Think your idea is probably better. Anyway, the weather's **** now so it doesn't matter. Also, I'd rather drink tap water than John Smiths TBF.

On our first match (and subsequent ones) , I think we should do a "roll call" - each player who ever they are should get a roll call saying "your the best centre back in this league", or whatever their position is. Just give them some positive vibes. Like many others, I'm looking forward to the new season, not expecting a lot, but just want us to do welll. It's likely that we'll have a bigger crowd than many other teams so let's use it. I've always tended to clam up if we ever perform 'by far the greatest team' as I find it difficult to say untruths. On the other hand, I think our players will benefit from a lot of people saying they're good, even if they're not.

Nice post SFCFE. I question the judgement of boys below 13. I considered myself a Liverpool fan in the 70s (with a touch of Tony Gray's Leeds). I think it is all about the experience they get at whatever age - watching matches, falling for the experience. That's what I got when I went to the Dell and I understood my dad's lectures about the Saints - as soon as I got there as a teenager it became my life. This is something Essex bound ManU fans will never know, they'll see product, boots, mags, success, trophies, but they wont know how it feels to really support a team - it's all remote to them. To us, and Doncaster and Colchester, and Aston Villa it's very, very personal. Sorry, pi 5 5 ed

Every seems to be putting MLT in an operational role. I don't want him anywhere near the administration / decision making process. He is a ex genius footballer, TV pundit and some time owner of not massively succcessful bars - ie no experience in football management. Is he really going to be involved in the decision making process?

Hasn't the forum got a nominated attendance figure / history repudiation officer? Isn't it Stu Romsey Saint?
-
I am a member now. Can't shed any light on anything, but I can't understand why we can't find out who's behind it. If MLT is a figurehead, I suppose like Frannie Lee (was it him) at Man C a few years back, then he isn't exactly putting his face about (as far as I can see, not being in Soton). Has he been gladhanding and kissing babies around the area?

I don't see any mention of our comrades in impecuity - Akkkkkkrington Stanley. They're currently getting more coverage on t'radio than ourselves.

Did you see the bit about Moore being non executive director of Acomita?
-
You've noticed the article on the right about RL and the Itchen Bridge yeah?
-
I've looked on Google street view and there's no cars in the car park - I think the meeting's finished.

And still able to type at the same time.

Ah, I realise why they're doing it - to take the rise out of him.
