They have a team full of goals is what they have - Kane, Son, Richarlison, kulusevski. I'm nervous about that first game tbh
-
They absolutely will
-
Newcastle just doing what all the other rich clubs have done - city, liverpool, chelsea etc, buying the best players on the market at both junior and senior ends
-
Apart from Ings with 12 goals in 20/21 and 22 goals in 19/20 you have to go all the way back to 15/16 for the last saints player to get >10 goals - two players that year in Pelle and Mane. Prior to that Pelle did it again, Jay-Rod and Rickie. I'd take a new version of any one of those!

Romeo Lavia - Official: Signs for Not Liverpool

Are either of those going to be in our starting eleven come first game of the season? Would you say Broja had a full consistent season? Do you not thing Livramento needed resting before his injury? -

Love how people quote world class performers like Boris Becker. I wonder how many other 17/18 year olds burnt out and never made it or took 5 /6 more years to reach the top if they ever did. I don't expect an 18 year old to come into this struggling team, hit the ground running and consistently produce, especially if he isn't the only young player we'll have in the team. Him and Romeu could work well together with Romeu being a good mentor. -

There will surely be a buy back clause. In many ways this sort of deal works better than loan deals -

All well and good, but I thought it was bizarre how often Tino was played last season given his age and look how that turned out. These lads need some protection and bring along in a way that takes into account their age. I wouldn't expect an 18 yr old to be a mainstay of the team straight away. Would have thought he'll supplement Romeu. We'll see -
Agreed. It was actually worse than total dogshit to be fair

If that's true, what a great story for the grandkids and one to include in a pub quiz. Although, just googled it and this appears to be the consensus: The first person in England to receive a red card was Blackburn player Dave Wagstaff, on October 2nd in a game against Leyton Orient. The English FA stopped the use of red and yellow cards in 1981 as it was feared that these were part of the problem with crowd violence. In 1987 "the International Board, the rule-making body of the international game, said that England was out of step and should reintroduce cards for the 1987-88 season". Therefor the card system was reintroduced and the first player to get a red card after this was Luton Town's Mick Hartford who was sent off after just four minutes of the opening day of fixtures.

We got our comeuppance on bailey though didn't we? Seem to remember him getting merciless abuse when he next came to the dell (was it for everton by then?) and he ended up getting red carded if memory serves

Well Brighton and Palace certainly looking to be on an upward curve last season - we'll see how it goes this coming season for them. Definitely wouldn't mind trading places with Leicester though. Yes, they had a poor season by their outstanding recent history, but they have been a shining light and everything we should be looking to emulate. Can't knock them at all.

God I hope not!
