Were some posters stamping on others' dreams?

Where did the main Krueger thread go? 10 pages and boom, gone. Was it because Glasgow got some unnecessary abuse?

Lovely way to speak to people.

Amen to all of that.

Get f*cked you northern poof.

True story. Better chance of finding the Malaysian plane.

I'm not a football professional. I think we all know that. But, if I were, and if my cock fell off during the game, I'd hope the crowd would forgive me for a few seconds while I tried to find it. Bear, you're a harsh judge.

Indeed, and I'll stand by the opinion that anyone who says there is something "sad" about our season needs their head examined. I don't want to be an apologist for our Glasgow based chum, but I didn't read his comment as that. I read is as similar to mine; we've over-achieved to expectations in the league and achieved a great season in that regard. But we had a huge chance to do something more and downgraded it. So, sadly, we do "just" have the league placing to go for. "Sad"? No, of course not. But, relative to what we might have done, then yes, "sadly" it was an opportunity that got past us. IMO, of course. BTW: It's good to discuss a difference of opinion with someone who respects the other point of view without resorting to terms such as "troll". I enjoy discussion with people who are intelligent but share other points of view. i.e. you, a rarer breed on here.

Depend on your point of view. I spent this afternoon watching the game with three pals who support other teams; they all expressed surprise that we'd rolled over against Sunderland. Entirely their own opinion. Others defend the club against it, I've got my own opinion, but that's just some other views.

You're welcome mate. But more importantly; top work from you, hats off. -
I've been old for a while ;-)

I must admit, I didn't really care all that much. Prefer we win, of course. But the intensity of early season has definitely gone.

Good point, forgot about the WC. Not a problem for our English boys, mind; they'll be back home before the knockout matches start...

Yep agreed. Cortese did exceptionally well to get us this far, no doubt. But (and this isn't necessarily a criticism as such) he did it all on the owner's tab, so he could afford to be ambivalent to maximising other revenues. As you say, it's all very well talking about the Champions League as if someone else is going to pay for it. But the promise of a sustainable football club never really looked like materialising, despite the huge revenues on offer in the PL. With the new regime it's very much a "time will tell". They're making all the right noises, but it's a bit of a gimme given that Cortese almost went out of his way to portray the pantomime villain. I've certainly been impressed with Krueger though, and while he may not come from a football background he's definitely got a hugely relevant background to draw from for his role.

Either the US or the far east, I'd have thought. Foreign pre-season "tournaments" have been going on for years so it's time we jumped on that gravy train.
-
Why won't he get that at a top club? Which other left backs, Baines aside, will keep him out of the team?
-
Me neither, but still would be surprised (and delighted) if he's still with us at the start of next season.

What?! That's the most ludicrous statement I've heard in relation to Shaw. About the only side in the top 8 that Shaw wouldn't get into is Everton. Give it a year and even that will probably not be the case. Champions League next year is pretty much a given for him, if he wants it.

You did a good job of hiding that fact, you acted like cheerleader in chief for the supposed "50K stadium" vision. In any case; any development that revitalises the area around the stadium must be a good thing, and if it benefits the club then even better. Hopefully the council will jump on board with some funding and we might have a surrounding area that isn't a complete sh*thole.
