  1. I didn't realise he is a West Ham fan and local boy to them so we probably didn't stand much of a chance there anyway.
  2. As long as you're better than Walcott, it's a no-brainer. 😜
  3. I've been saying for a couple of seasons now we've been accumulating crappy AMs - Armstrong is decent but has had his injury/illness issues leading to inconsistency, and then after that we have Redmond, Djenepo, Tella, Moi and Walcott (and occasionally Smallbone) as attacking midfielders, doing largely very little - and that's before we get to other positions. I'm glad the club has seen that we needed revolution rather than evolution this summer and hopefully we go on to sign a few more players yet.
  4. I thought the ref was... Good.
  5. He improved last season from his first season with us but that wasn't hard. It'd be nice if he could get a few more goals similar to his Celtic loan but as a squad option he's OK. I still hope we bring in Aribo and one other 10.
  6. Giving it a go as it's England and I'm finding myself mildly invested. Started poorly but are now bossing it. Yes the quality is not quite there compared to the men but its quite entertaining from a patriotic point of view.
  7. I'd take those two strikers (and Colwill as a bonus) but we still need a little more. Another pacy, tricky 10 (a tougher Djenepo with more end product) and a right back for me on top of those would complete the window. Pretty much every summer (bar the window we signed Mané and Toby on the last day) I think we're short somewhere going into the season. Post-Lavia and Aribo signing, if we can bring in 2 x strikers, 1 x 10 and a right back (with the bonus of another CB) I think we'd go into the season strong in every single position for the first time in years. Yes the jury is out on the youngsters but we'd certainly have bodies and appetite and excitement in the stadium.
  8. Funnily enough in his highlights video I did get echoes of Lemina. Lemina was a good player he was just very inconsistent so if Lavia can be an improved, more consistent version of Lemina we'll have a hell of a player.
  9. LAVIA SIGNS!!! 😜
  10. We love a SuperSaint post. 😏
  11. Very highly rated at Charlton and we were interested in him at the time but he went to Rangers and seems to have impressed there and got better. Would be a good signing for the price in a position we need two players in. A good start to the attacking side of things if we get it over the line.

    Salisu

2024 though right? Means we at least have him the whole of this season.
  13. This crossed my mind too, what with the unexpected £30+ million already on players without any sales. Maybe our owners have a bit of cash they're willing to spend. OK maybe we can't break our £20 million budget, but with Broja we already know there's most likely one of Europe's top strikers one day that will fetch the big bucks when it comes to sell. (A no brainer.) At the very least we should be trying to sign him, even if we have to stagger the payment options.
  14. Another manager/player combo if you consider youth players, in both Pochettino Sr and Jr. We've had players who've had football playing dads (Wright-Phillips, Gunn etc) but I can't think of a dad/son combo that both played for us. (There's probably a really obvious one and I'll look silly 🙄).
  15. I'm not sure what to think of this one. I don't hate it. I think it's the gold outline that I'm not keen on and it looks a bit fussy, but it is unique and the two tone teal/blue isn't bad. It's not a kit I'd buy anyway as the wife will no doubt get me the home kit for Christmas.

This would be a cracking (re-)signing. If we are indeed interested in Colwill and get him, it'd give us Salisu and Colwill as left footed CBs and ABK and Lyanco as right sided CBs. With Simeu coming through we'd have a good stock for a few years. (Bye Jack...)
  17. That sounds more like it. Not that a player with an ACL in his injury history is likely to be worth that anytime soon. I really hope he comes back and does what he does best. Thank God we have KWP too though.
  18. The Guardian had it at £25 million but it doesn't sound enough. But yeah unless Tino comes back flying, I doubt Chelsea would risk it anytime soon.
  19. It was quoted at the time he signed as different depending what source you read... between 25 and 40 million. But I remember Twitter reports at the time saying it could be higher. I don't think it was ever truly reported. £25 million seems a bit light so I'd guess £40 million is more accurate.
  20. The higher the transfer fee then hopefully the higher the buy back. If this guy is as good as City fans say he is, I hope the buy back fee is £50 million +. That way we get paid for "developing" him (playing him regularly in the Prem) and they buy back a more complete player. I like these deals, better than a loan and it means the player has to be a success with us to get back to the clubs they left.
  21. What's your fLavia, tell me what's your fLavia... 😬
  22. I'd take a full back but yep we've definitely added to the defensive spine.
