Goals from right backs stick in my mind. There was Wayne Thomas's against Ipswich in the cup, that was a corker, and for some reason I remember a Jason Dodd screamer he scored with his left foot (iirc) though I forget against who. Then there's Golacs, though I'm too young for that. Clyne's was top class though.
I agree to a point, but footballers want to play for their National teams. If he continues not to be recognised playing for Saints, it's possible he may want a move to a club where you only have to fart in the changing room to get a call up. Of course it's a vicious circle, as International recognition and good form prompt bigger clubs as to their class.
The first game I'm managing to get to this season, which means we'll completely ditch our attacking flair, play Gazzaniga in goal, Isgrove in defence, and get 4 red cards, a biased ref that loves QPR, and get spanked 6-0.
Or we'll win, whatever.
Sounds weird, but I'd rather play those two in the earlier rounds while they're playing their reserves/youth. If they get to the semis there's a chance they'll start putting their first teams out just to win a bit of silver wear they have little interest in.
Who'd have thought it, a Premier League team playing a near full team actually progressing in the League Cup! If Koeman's priority is the cups, he's sure going the right way about it!
Lovely win despite the missed chances, and a lovely goal from Clyne. Hodgson you blind bastard, wtf does Nathaniel have to do to get some recognition?
Through to to the last 16. 4 matches to win guys, 4 matches to win....
Be nicer to win it. It's built into us as Saints fans from our past that we are worrying about Arsenal scoring again. Come on Saints, prove to us you've changed!
Everton conceded 3 again...
? Boruc is at Bournemouth...
I love the look of that team. Strong but giving opportunities to Targett and Mané, who can't have trained a lot with the team but is apparently match fit.
I'm going to take a leaf out that Scottish blokes book and whack £900k on Arsenal progressing tonight. That way I'll either be happy with the extra cash, or happy Saints have gone through to the next round. (But homeless and with broken kneecaps from the loan sharks.)
According to the Telegraph, Hodgson is set to call up Blackett to the senior England squad because he's short of left footed centre halves. He's 5 games into his Premier League career, been sent off already and looked out of his depth against Leicester.
I wonder why...?
