  1. IIRC I think Cork's contract is set to be reviewed in December/January. With Morgan's long term future still up in the air, I'd very much like Cork to stay put. He'd be very difficult to replace cheaply.
  2. After what happened in the summer, as long as we keep Koeman I'll be confident of replacing whoever leaves with relative comfort. If we fail to win anything or qualify for Europe, one would expect Morgan will go, Clyne likewise and possibly Vic. However I can't see it being as dramatic as the summer just gone.
  3. Niemi Dodd Monkou Claus Benali Berkovic Oakley Magilton MLT Lambert Pahars Honourable mention to Richards, Killer, Bridge, Heaney, Shipperley and Ostenstadt.
  4. This. What ever happened to the good old SaintsWeb rigging of various votes...
  5. Di Maria FFS? Ok as a team goal but not in the same class of skill as Pellès. Or Austins for that matter. ****ing United fan base... :-)
  6. Transfer fee was all wrong but give him time. Obviously the committee saw something in him they liked... A Koeman plan B perhaps? Either way thought he looked lively when he came on against QPR. With him, Tadic, Mané, Pellè, JRod and the likes of Isgrove, Gallagher and JWP, our attacking options look strong. So does our midfield and defence. Good times ahead. 10 goals is the quota I'm looking for from Long though, appearances pending, for this season.

    Servette FC

http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?51941-Southampton-Partnership-With-Servette-Could-Be-On-Cards#.VDEwcye9KK0 Have any good players come from Servette?
  8. Right ladies and Gheytlemen, who's sexiest? You decide. Personally I prefer the mainstream good looks of Pellè over the rough and ready Osvaldo. Those lucky Italian female and ghey fans have a lot to ogle over in the next international. England have Wayne Rooney. Hmmm.
  9. 6-0 win tomorrow, Chelsea lose, top of the table. Doable.
  10. Tempted fate there!

  12. Much as I want Liverpool to suffer this season, I actually hope Lambert bangs a hat trick in today. Seems like a lot of oeople are questioning his selection over Ballotelli over on the Beeb live feed. It'd be nice to see him prove them wrong.
  13. Spurs fans saying they have the best looking team in the Prem. They'll be after Pellé in the next window then!
  14. Good article. If there HAd been a release clause in Morgan's contract of £10 mill, then that would have been a major, MAJOR mistake by the previous management. Glad there wasn't.
  15. Koeman in "Soushampton aren't a big club" shocker! Stone him! :-) Well sounds like he's done his homework on Spurs. Now it's up to the players...
  16. Well done Jose. Won't let them down. Shame it's come late in his career.
  17. Good. Beating their first team will feel more satisfying.
  18. As Saintsweb's very own London Underground representative, I'd like to remind people that alcohol is banned on the Tube, and Teedee is a naughty boy that deserves a smacked bottom. Although being as he is, I think it's punishment enough. (And quite frankly I couldn't give 2 ****s!)

    Best goal?

Let's see how Ospina does against weaker opposition tonight. :-)
  20. It'll be one annoyed poster if we ever change the badge. :-)
  21. What's Ulloa's record in September?
  22. Everton's defence is poor this year. While I do think their squad is better than ours, I still don't think they're quite at the level they were last season. Which opens the door for us. As for Utd, they're still an unbalanced mish mash of assorted transfers and inexperienced youth. Their right side is prime for attacking, I'd love to see Mané have at it. Peculiarly though, I do think they're stronger offensively than last year, and will finish above us. As will Chelsea, City, Arsenal, Spurs and I hate to say it, Liverpool. 7th to 10th is achievable though, unless a side above us implode. (Liverpool, I'm looking at you.) Still a long way to go though.
  23. Saints vs Brizzle was an evening game, so I'm assuming that picture was from a previous match.
  24. I too was unusually downbeat about this signing, despite me touting him in previous HCDAJFU threads, but it was more to do with it being a loan than a full transfer, especially with the money we'd accrued over the summer. That, plus there were hardly raving reviews from Villa fans, who from memory considered Bertrand bang average. We're seeing the best of Bertrand, and the deal now appears to be working for us. He's experienced, decent going forward as well as defending, and perhaps most importantly gets on with Corky! (Must keep Cork!) He's also won something most of our players never will. The loan is good because either Targett is ready next summer and we can let Bertrand go back to Chelsea, or sign him up for a decent fee and have a very strong left back situation. In all this turned out to be a very clever transfer by the management.
