A win's a win. Good 3 points! Man Utd, we're coming for you!

I'm worried - I live in a village situated between Wraysbury and Datchet! We're on Flood alert as it stands. Saints have my attention at the moment though...

Why are we not running at defences like we used to?

Why do we not score goals like we used to? :-D -

Ha! You can take the boy out of Sheffield, but... etc etc

There's a young centre back at Sheffield United (OK, League One, not Championship. Meh) that's been getting rave reviews, Harry Maguire. Apparently Man U had the scouts looking at him last year. He's been a first choice centre back for them for a couple of years now, and he's only 20. 6'4'' too, definite potential. He's Sheffield born and bred but with United where they are, surely it wouldn't be THAT difficult to get him to leave...

Their new strikers have started well, but I still think we can beat them. I went with my heart for the Stoke game when I should have gone with my head, so I'm going with my head this time. Entertaining 3-3 draw though we're easily good enough to get all 3 points.

Barry Sanchez had a premium rate phone sex line?

I heard the last ten minutes of the Saints vs Norwich 5-4 game on Clubcall. I went mental when Monkou scored the winner in the last minute. I got a proper bollocking from my parents for the phone bill, but it was worth it.

This should be a simple home win, and there's little reason to think otherwise, but Stoke shouldn't be underestimated, even though they're a different team than the Pulis-run team of old. Head would take a draw, but I'm going with my heart for a 2-0 win.

If MP were to go, it would leave a huge hole that may make the players consider their futures. Appointing the likes of Adkins may encourage the likes of Lallana, Morgan, Rickie and the rest of those that played under him before to stick around. I do think we should look to the future though, but it depends on what managers are available if Poch were to go. If we're left with a choice of Hughes, Allardyce or Redknapp for example, I'd take Adkins back in a heartbeat. I do expect there to be better options available though. I really hope Pochettino sticks around and completes the job, but I do think he'll be sought after by "bigger" clubs in the summer.

Sad news. Pleased he managed to make his debut (and score) while his father was around to see it.

Carroll's red card has stuck. I know he's not played much or scored for them since he came back from injury, but they've definitely looked better with him in their team. Big loss for them, in a scenario where they already struggle to score goals. Could be relegated with Fulham if they're not careful.

Trust in the youth. They've rarely let us down in the past. Anyway, the Chambers/Clyne combo seems like a reasonably good back up option to have if Shaw goes out for any length of time - plus you have to remember that with Chambers currently first choice at right back, any chance we can get to give Clyne game-time is a plus. Clyne won't want to be displaced for too long. And, on the very slim chance that Woy is looking at different full back options for Brazil, the versatility Clyne would show if we needed him at left back would be a big plus. Granted, we look slightly weaker without an experienced left back in reserve, but Fox needed the game time. And how much damage will it cause for us this season? Very little. We're not in danger of relegation, and we'll certainly be lucky to put forward a run of form that will see us finish 4th! Even if we use Targett, the experience he would gain in a season where one mistake won't haunt him is priceless.

Woof, that was a hell of a pass. West Ham fans would probably call that a hoof but we all know it was far from that. As for Rodriguez's finish, wow.

Keeping Pochettino and the players is key. We also need stability behind the scenes, whether that be with Ms Liebherr, Mr Cortese or whoever. In addition to all that, we do need a couple of signings in key areas, namely CB, AM and Str, and possibly a GK eventually. That's a lot to ask. I actually think we might lose Pochettino in the summer die to a bigger club wanting him, and as a result we might lose one or two of the better players. Fingers crossed this is just the pessimistic Saints fan of old talking.

A wife, 3 children, a very good film career that was still going strong, Oscar award winning and only 46. He must have had some serious demons to kill himself with drugs. A shame.

Will we beat our Premier League points record this season?
SNSUN replied to Nolan's topic in The Saints
Possibly. I reckon we'll get somewhere close to it, 15 to 20 points more is my prediction. Depends on form, we have Palace in March - will they be the team they are currently or will they be broken by then? We have Cardiff, Villa and Swansea in the last five fixtures too - will they still be in a relegation battle by then? Then there's the usual mid-table apathy. When it starts looking like we're comfortably mid-table and not likely to achieve anything further up the table, there's a chance our form will tail off as players will be "on the beach". I'm not saying that will happen under Pochettino, or in a WC year, but it's a possibilty. -
1, and his name is Adam Lallana. However it depends on injuries and the form of other players. Rickie could quite easily get a look in if he hits form again and is the better of other choices, JRod has had a great season and will have to hope Welbeck or someone of that ilk doesn't get chosen ahead of him, and the other England player I think has a chance of going is Clyne, but it is a huge outside chance. Shaw will probably find the competition comes too soon for his chance, and Cork, while outstanding for us recently, will be fighting for his place with Wanyama which means he won't be permanent first choice for Saints, which will hamper his chances of playing for England. I'd love it if the trio of Lambert, JRod and Lallana went though, and tore it up in Brazil. Skates fans would suddenly find a Scottish or Irish granny just so they didn't have to cheer the Saints/England team to glory.

We keep possession well and pass it around nicely, but lack a cutting edge. Without Boruc's saves, we could be 2 or 3 down now.
