  1. I'd like King Midas to be our owner. Everything he touches turns to gold. And gold is good for a football club. Not David Gold though.
  2. Be careful, it might look like an 'inny' but they have surgery nowadays to cut off 'outeys' and make them look like 'innys'.
  3. I'd like someone to come in that can see what we're trying to achieve - be as successful as can be whilst being stable financially, bringing through youth to become first team players, evolution not revolution - and keep the status quo. So someone wealthy, but that's not prepared to come in and change everything radically like Allam and Tan. As for rich Sheikhs or Americans buying the club? I'm really not sure. Sure, success for a club we've all supported and had in our hearts for years would be great, but how sustainable is it? If the owner pulls out, how financially screwed would we be? I want to be supporting Southampton on my deathbed in 50 years, not watching the club die in 5 years.
  4. It's weird hearing Cortese speak. I've always had him as a silent figure at the head of the club. These are both worrying and interesting times...
  5. Amy Lewis seems clued up. I wonder if she has a nice smile...
  6. So this will pave the way for the billionaires from Dubai to take us over? :-) I'm not going to worry about this until it happens, but I worry about morale within the camp.
  7. Diego should join Hull. Both are tigers...
  8. If Cortese goes to Milan, I'm going to put a horses head in his bed. See how he likes it.
  9. This is worrying news. If Cortese goes, then to replace him we need a sound, financial businessman, with a wonderful knowledge of football and is also very well liked by the media...
  10. The Diego that was once regarded as one of the best talents in the world? (Certainly on FM2004!) I know his career has gone off the rails, and he's never lived up to the hype he once got, but he's still better than Freddy Adu in that department and for £1.6 mill it'd be a risk worth taking. On a short contract...
  11. ] Is "piff" positive or negative? I'm not down with the lingo! Harry Maguire at Sheffield United would be worth looking at. 20 year old, 6'4'' Centre Back, been their player of the season twice running, had Man Utd scouting him last season and improving all the time. English too, was called up for U21s. I've only caught glimpses of him in highlights but he ticks all the right boxes on paper.
  12. I lost money yesterday, I thought we'd draw against WBA. Hey ho, pleased with the win too!
  13. That's brilliant, I didn't know that existed. I'll be using that to annoy my Norwich-supporting wife. Sorry for your loss MOG.
  14. EDIT: Results are already in - Suarez wins with his first effort against Norwich, his second goal against them comes second, and Osvaldo is third. http://dynamic.pulselive.com/dynamic/client/bbc/motd/ I know it was against us, but I also though Coleman's effort was good.
  15. Osvaldo goal was the better of our two for me, but how good were ALL the goals! Outstanding cracks on goal, though of course Suarez will win, hopefully with his second Matt Le Tissieresque second effort rather than his first.
  16. I hope your dad makes a full recovery and is back in the Chapel before long.
  17. RIP fellow Saint.
  18. Assuming JRod and Lallana are first choice for two of the attacking midfield spots, I guess it boils down to which of Ramirez, JWP or Davis people would rather see in the other spot. Davis is the consistant one, JWP the potential, but I'm all for seeing more of Ramirez if he consistantly delivers.
  19. Better late than never! I hope he goes on a prolongued, consistant, run of good form, more for his sake with the WC coming up, but also he could go on to be a massive player for us, especially if we can get him to click with Osvaldo. Will he stay though?
  20. Best wishes to the chap. Well done to all involved. (Though a second Saints goal today would've calmed a lot of nerves and dodgy tickers...)
  21. Sunderland (A) Arsenal (H) Fulham (A) Stoke (H) Hull (A) West Ham (A) Liverpool (H) Palace (A) Norwich (H) These are our next 9 Premier League fixtures, after that, the last 8 get a bit tougher. With all the injured players coming back, and the win today starting us off, how many points will we get for these 9 games? 12-14 for me, safety assured, then we can pick up whatever we can get from the last 8 as a bonus. Also, the more points we get before the FA Cup progresses, the more we can concentrate on that and less about the league. Positivity reigns!
  22. A couple of months ago, this would have been an away banker, and we really should've got more than a point against them at home. Now Sunderland are a different proposition, and they had an important win against Fulham away today. I can see this being tough, but as long as we start strongly, with a team similar to todays, we can win it. A home win for Sunderland wouldn't be a shock - if I were going to bet on it, I'd go draw.
  23. My favourite number is 2, and she is second to nun. :-D I'm ill with the man flu today, but if things stay this way, I'll force myself out to a lucky fag later.
  24. Mammy's little baby loves short'nin', short'nin',Mammy's little baby loves short'nin' bread
  25. Otherwise back to the strongest possible line up, Wanyama excepted. Good to see. As for full back cover, Cork and Yoshida have both covered them in the past, though God forbid if Shaw picks up his regular knock and the left footed Jos comes on at full back....
