I've just bought a couple of nice new suits from M and S. Both (and my other one) will be utilised next season as I'm sat alongside Mr Cortese sipping Champagne and eating the prawn sandwiches.

According to the weather, there'll be a storm over Southampton between 2 and 3pm today. (Thursday) This is fate, it will be announced then. I may be wrong...

Saints have too much fan power to let the powers that be change our kit to blue. We stopped Hoddle coming back, we stopped St Mary's being called The Friends Provident Stadium and we got rid of the first Ted Bates statue.

I tried it a few times as a youngster and it made me paranoid and sleepy. It did not agree with me, so I stopped doing it. Now I'm in a job with a zero tolerance drugs and alcohol rule. That means I cannot start a shift with anything at all in my system. Now I can control the alcohol, that's up to me, but it's very easy to have traces of cannabis in my system if I have been around people that smoke it, and it's on the rise in public. If it gets legalised, more people would do it in public and I'd have to be very careful where I go or what I do. I'd not look forward to that. Plus it stinks.

My mum once lost my sister in Slough in the mid-80's when she was about 3. They had a trolley full of shopping and left me (aged 5 and as good as gold) to look after it in the car park while my mum and dad freaked out and began running around Slough. I don't know how long they'd gone for but it seemed like hours to me. They found her, an honest shopper had discovered her wandering around on her own and had held on to her while they listened to music from a band that was playing in the shopping centre. Nowadays my mum is borderline senile, but back then it was just a momentary lapse in concentration. Had it been this day and age, I doubt my parents, or indeed my sister, would have been so lucky.

The new name for the League Cup. So our two cup competitions are the F*ck Up and the C*ck Up. Tee hee.

The Adkins regime would get him fit...

Jagielka's gone from thinking he could've had a lovey summer holiday to potentially being in England's starting XI in the space of a week!

Wrong England thread...

Two 1-0 wins under Roy. 6 more of those and we've win the Euros. :-)

I think it's a good idea to take Butland to the Euros, more so than had we taken Ruddy. It gives him the experience of being at a major competition, especially as he'll be in the England set up for years to come. We did it with Ferdinand, we did it with Walcott. Besides which, how often is it for a nation's third keeper to be selected to play? Very rare. Had we not had a cemented first choice keeper, I reckon perhaps we'd have picked a more experienced third choice keeper, but thankfully we have Hart, so the other two will barely get a look in anyway, bar injuries and suspensions to Hart. In the argument of Davis or Butland, I'd say Butland. Davis or Green would be a closer argument...

Did Alan Blayney get a NI cap whilst here?

Joined Aston Villa. I'm not surprised, on one hand I can't blame him for trying his hand at a "bigger" club, and he did wonders for Norwich, but I feel a bit sad for Norwich fans, similar to what we'd feel if we lost Adkins after what he's achieved. Aston Villa will be a force again though, he's a quality manager with an eye for a signing. Norwich? It depends who they get in, but with Holt revolting, they could struggle...

Me and the missus have set meals that we always have, but not on set days. For example whenever we do the food shop, that day we'll have pasta bolognase bake, and the following day we'll have fajitas. When younger we had Fish and Chip day on the Friday, Roast Day on the Sunday, and Monday pie day on the... Monday. (Using all the extra meat from Sunday.)

I have to feed twelve young'uns, four dogs and three hookers. Money is tight. :-)

I like the Jack Cork one, but for £17? Pass.

With Foster due to leave this summer, if I were a Brum fan, I'd be saying that Butland will be their new number one and would be better off staying with them and getting some decent playing time and experience. From a Saints fans point of view? Yes please - a young goalkeeper in the England team. Would be great at Kelvin's protege.

Summer 2012 HCDAJFU Thread - Premier League Special Edition
SNSUN replied to Jimmy_D's topic in The Saints
This. Chaplow won't want to leave now we're back in the Premier League, and could rightly say no, which would put the whole deal in jeopardy. I can't see Cortese and Adkins risking a target like this. I would think it'll end up being a straight £7million transfer, with a sneaky wink if they wish to buy Chaplow afterwards. I hope we keep Chaplow though. Keep him fit and he would be a useful battler in the Premier League. -
Barry out, Jagielka in. Good news for England IMO but did anyone have Barry in their team in the first place?

Summer 2012 HCDAJFU Thread - Premier League Special Edition

We need to sign Nick Powell from Crewe! 18 years old, Matt Le Tissier-esque player. Scored a cracker in their play-off final but has been doing it all season. He's a goalscoring midfielder which is what we need too. Stuff the big 6 clubs interested in him, let's make Southampton attractive and lure him here. There's no bad side to this transfer. -
I'm a Saints fan first and an England fan a distant second, but I do hope we do well. I can see the logic in taking Butland or Ruddy though - gives a young keeper experience at a tournament. We don't need another ageing pro - Hart and Green will cover the first two spots - how often is it that a national team ever needs their third keeper in a tournament? (I acknowledge it CAN happen though...)

There's a pretty good fruit used in our household for sexual gratification. The humble Cumquot. The answer's in the name. My missus can do the ping pong ball trick with one of those bad boys.
-
Fantastic publicity stunt IMO. Spain telling people not to vote for them because they can't afford to host it means people are more likely to vote for them. That's the way I see it anyway. Will United Kingdom ever win again? I doubt it. I'm surprised we keep funding it.

SNSUN replied to fez's topic in The Saints
Match of ye Day through the ages rhymes you know - featuring Harold Hardrada, Spanish Armada, and Carlos Valderrama.
