  1. Afternoon lads, what have I missed? Oh... :-(
  2. I am working today, woke up at 3, finish work at half 12. Dash home, get changed, go to nice pub in Virginia Water for a spot of lunch with friends, dash home, hope my pre-arranged night in with a pregnant lady friend DOESN'T go ahead (my missus is out of town and tbf I'd rather follow the footy), nap around half five for 2 hours, wake up, dinner, beddybyes. I miss the old "What are you up to this weekend " freds in the Lounge.
  3. I actually Googled "Google Centralia". It's plain idiocy like this which makes people thankful I don't have an important job. (Interesting stuff though. Perhaps the real idiots are the ones still living in such a dangerous place.)
  4. The only paper I read is The Metro - and luckily, as I work on the Tube - I'm privy to a copy as soon as it's delivered in the morning. My news comes from the BBC website otherwise, or word of mouth.
  5. I'm all for clean energy - while I don't know enough to poo poo it properly, Nuclear concerns me. Looking at the devastation Chernobyl caused, and seeing that there are areas of it that are still no go areas even today, is depressing. Imagine if a similar incident to that or Fukushima happened in the UK. No thanks. Coal may be running out, but hopefully we still have a few more years left of it yet - plenty of time to find a suitable replacement. Maybe one day, everybody will be responsible for producing their own energy for their home - through whatever means - akin to the solar panels some people have had installed. (And sell their excess energy back to the National Grid.) Wind farms are ugly, but you can't deny we won't always have wind - but I agree with the earlier poster - we do have a shed load of water on this planet. There must be something in that.
  6. 4 points over 3? 4 points every time, the home record will come to a natural end eventually anyway. That said, I expect no fewer than 6 points.
  7. I agree. I'd much rather they were crapping their pants going into this one. The Echo already has it's headline: Saints full of disMay-nard. (They can buy that off me for ten quid.)
  8. Maybe I'm just in a good mood. :-)
  9. "When will Southampton go through a bad spell" is a recurring question around my workplace too. We are like Sebastian Vettel, once we're in pole, we win the race.
  10. Del Piero's on a free in June. Loan him now, in loan exchange for Forecast.
  11. I get a good vibe reading that forum - most of them seem like a decent set of fans, more so than some fans forums I've read this season. I've never really thought much about Bristol City before, but if they stay up in place of Portsmouth, I'd love them indefinitely. :-)
  12. There's some footage of me in the 80's, aged about 8, unwrapping my presents one Christmas, and despite all the lovely presents I was given by my parents (who in spite of not having a lot of money always treated my sister and I very well presents-wise), I was most excited about opening a desk tidy. It cost my Mum about a quid, but at the time I thought it was a great present (from Father Christmas). I knew then I was going to be a geek, but it shows that money doesn't always buy the best presents. I don't have kids yet, but I will, and they will be treated very well.
  13. In Adkins we trust. While I personally approve of signing Jutkiewicz, a useful player, (although not at the £3million quoted - wasn't there a link to him for less than a million in the summer?), I think we do need a striking addition up front. I like Barnard, Guly and Lambert, but Connolly is getting on in age and still picking up knocks. We need insurance to Lambert's position, and a replacement for Connolly. The replacement for Connolly can wait until the summer when we know what league we're in, but strengthening up front in case we lose Lambert makes common sense. (However unlikely losing him seems, he's a machine, but the worst could happen.)
  14. I can't quite put my finger on why, but half time queue lines and kiosks within view of the pitch is worrying. Also, I think we should call any Markus Liebherr-based stadium name, the Liebherr Bowl. :-D
  15. "Hasn't kept a clean sheet in any games he's played in." What did we ever see in Forecast? Was he brilliant for Spurs reserves and then received brain damage before signing for us?

    The Statue

I'm still laughing at it (and this thread). It's a shame they didn't auction it off - it would have made millions. I'll give this club credit, Ali Dia, Ted Bates statue mk1, Steve Wigley - when we cock something up, we cock it up BIG stylee.
  17. Banana skin is definitely the right word for this one, Bristol City have picked up some results of late, but if we want to be genuine title contenders this should simply be just another 3 points. I hate saying "I'll take a draw" at away games, but as I think we're good enough to win this (especially with the back-up of Barnard on the bench once more), I won't say it! 3-1 Saints, our favourite scoreline. (and a game I think Adam will rediscover his goalscoring form.)
  18. Next they'll crack down on swearing, and ".....oooooooooooooooh YOU FAT BASTARD" chants will see us all banned. (Homophobic chants are propah nawty though.)
  19. I was 8. (boarding school for ten years on music scholarships) Moved out of my parents house at 19 to live with a mate in Chiswick, moved back home 3 months later and lived there until 3 years ago, aged 27, to live with my missus.
  20. My meeting with Ray Sist was only bettered by my rendezvous with Ray Piste.
  21. Phone tap the living ****** out of dead people's relatives then publish your findings on here.
  22. Kudus Oyenuga? K.O.? The song's gotta be Knockout, by Lil Wayne. Kudus 123, go and nut the referee... Or not.
  23. :rolleyes:Furthermore to my earlier comment from last year, I am both surprised and delighted at achieving promotion, and our form in general. Overreaction on a forum is funny though.
  24. I'll look after the kids as long as you promise not to do any background checks.
  25. He's a good lower league striker. A natural goalscorer although apparently has a bit of an attitude problem. Simeon Jackson took his spot, and is probably the better player, but still a good signing for Palarse.
