Back when the top four were the top four - Man Utd, Liverpool, Arsenal and Chelsea, there was talk of them breaking away into a European Super League and leaving the rest of us behind. I still reckon something like that will happen, although perhaps it'll be Man City or Spurs challenging for a spot. While I don't see this happening - Promotion and Relegation is what makes the competition amazing, I've always maintained the Championship is the best league. I would LOVE to be back in the Premiership, but I would definitely miss this league. Nobody has a God given right to be in the Premiership - I do find Arsenal's position early in the season mildly amusing, but money is ruining this game. I will always be a Saints fan, but I would consider going back to grass roots to support a local team somewhere down the leagues where money makes little difference if Saints got involved in all this. (Which hopefully they won't!)

Got back from a lovely break in Cyprus late last night and realised I'd yet to get my ticket for this game. Luckily I'm travelling alone so it's easier to buy one ticket - I'm now the proud holder of a seat in the Chapel/Kingsland corner - I'd have sat anywhere to get to this game. That said I do think it'll be the end of our impressive streak at home, but I hope we make a fight of it!. 3-1 WHAM. Met two Saints fans in Paphos, we ended up watching the Derby game and had the whole bar to ourselves, a great time.

Good news pour moi. I Couldn't make this game so I was going to get the day off to see it as I have a week off from the following day - but now I can arrange my shift around the kick off time, watch it on Sky, and use my precious one day off for the Brighton game in November. Well, it made sense to me.

http://injuryroom.footballunited.com/ OMG, just found this site! Check out THESE photos!!! (WHat I just wrote sounds like a dodgy email, but some cool photos nonetheless if you like being grossed out!)

The photos of David Busst I think it was, made me gag. You could see the bone.

More Championship TV? That can only be a good thing, no matter which league we're in in a few years. I think this league really is the best - the fight for Premiership promotion heats it up, games are fought well, and you usually have big teams coming up from League One. I love the nPc the last time we were in it, and I still do. (Nothing to do with our position, it's just a great league.)

More news filtering through, the lad was given Oxygen and was on a drip as he was on the pitch, he was unconcious until he was in the ambulance leaving the ground, and it is a suspected neck/spinal injury. Horrific stuff - the players were so traumatised by the experience, that's why the game was called off.

Using the Beeb for updates.

2110 FOOTBALL: More on the injured 18-year-old Accrington player Tom Bender, on-loan from Colchester. He collided with Accrington goalkeeper Ian Dunbavin and Tranmere's Lucas Akins, and after being treated for 25 minutes was stretchered off and taken to hospital. Sounds pretty serious...
-
I've just seen the JPT game with Accrington and Tranmere was abandoned after 39 minutes due to a "serious injury" to Accrington player Thomas Bender. Anyone know anything? Unusual for a game to be abandoned due to injury. Death?

I've been told that growing weed takes up quite a lot of electricity...

I personally think the club should be rewarded for bringing in this fantastic, deliberate, energy saving scheme. Switch off the TV screens, Switch off the floodlights, and make the players walk to away games, thus improving their carbon footprint.

Looking at the table, it seems that anyone from Ipswich up is in reasonable touching distance of us, and I suspect a few more from further down could suprise everyone with runs towards the top of the table. (Birmingham are still a threat, Reading, Leeds, Burnley etc.) That said I think a couple could drop away - Derby's start has been amazing but I genuinely think they're overachieving - as perhaps are we - and they'll probably finish up in the higher mid-table. Brighton too seem to be faltering after their good start. I think our start has been fantastic, but I'm not very surprised, we have some great players here, and great manager and a chairman ruthless enough to make big decisions. Can we keep it up? Sure, if we can keep the big players away from injury, but I think the good times will end at some point. A top 6 finish is more than achievable though - finishing in the top two would be orgasmic. In summery, we should be on 30 points and ten points clear of Middlesbrough.

Very happy today, although a little hung over from last night's shenanigans. Apparently I spent the night hiding from my friends in the nightclub and peering around corners. I was very drunk. 4-0 is a comprehensive win, especially as it sounded like we didn't play well in the first half, After only one point from two games I was concerned of form had dipped and we'd slump away from the top, but thankfully it seems our home form will carry us through.

Jonjo Shelvey scores for Blackpool - excellent loan signing there.

Got a feeling Deano will score today. Not sure why...

GOAL RICKIE!!! (Ipswich equalise through Chopra.)
-
Penalty!!! Lambert come on!!!
-
ANother corner! COYS!!!
-
Guly nearly - come on Saints - make the corners count!
-
I'll try it - maybe we won't concede in the first 15 mins after half time as per.

Is going for a smoke at half time a waste of a lucky cigarette?

Harding is still my favourite player because of his sheer comittment he gives in a Saints shirt. He's a good left back, not the best, but I always feel comfortable when I see his name on the team sheet. I've yet to see Fox, but I think he'd have to go a long way to displace Harding. I feel sorry for Dickson though, but it does seem like his time here is numbered. If Fox is better going forward, I still think he should be moved further up - after all, Lallana can play anywhere - I'd like to see Adam as a support striker to Lambert - I think he's got the brain for it.
-
It's not about the goals we HAVE scored, it's about the goals we have YET to score. We need a striker loan in - we're quite weak in strength in depth up front. Yes, we have players that can play there, but we need an out and out goalscorer to come in - as we're top, as the OP says, what better time to bring in someone of real quality until January.
-
Come on Saints, quit effing around and score another before half time. That's an ORDER. Or I'll get the ladies out.
