My parrots are most definitely Saints fans, because when we lose, they get punched. In fact, lose on Saturday, and I'll cut their wings off. The dogs are not Saints fans. The younger one ******ses himself at the slightest noise, me cheering a Saints goal coats the floor in doggy wee. I'm sure the older one went deaf deliberately after years of living with me.

Simple thread, what do you think the final score will be on Saturday in our game? I'm having us down for a comfortable 3-0 win. (One will be a penalty though.)

I was trying to explain our situation to a colleague at work today. I went with a rule of percentages. I said that we had a 95% chance of winning, based on the current stature of the clubs, available playing staff and talent, discipline of our team, and what's at stake. I gave Coventry a 5% chance of winning, which would be a freak result akin to our victory at Leeds a few weeks ago, where the home team batters the opposition for 89 and a half minutes, but the away team score that all important goal. It would be awful if we take anything for granted, but I do think we'll be ready to go, half twelve on Saturday, and we won't let up until the game is won. Let's go up, and let's do it in style. 6-0 please. (Up yours West Ham.)

Is Anyone Else Not Bothered If We Don't Go Up?
SNSUN replied to View From The Top's topic in The Saints
It's like the five stages of grief and we haven't even played the game yet... Denial - We're not going to win on Saturday! Anger - I can't believe we're not going to win on Saturday! Bargaining - Please God let us win on Saturday! Depression - Bloody hell, What am I going o do with my life if we lose on Saturday?!? Acceptance - Oh well, there's always next season in the Championship, winning loads more games. :-) -
Good post, good memories. I sometimes wonder whether Alan Ball deliberately took Man City down...

For people that would rather be in the Championship - you can have your wish August 2013 when we're £100 million richer from our season in the sun. Right now, I'd give anything for us to win on Saturday and go back up. -
Did anyone else think that said "Bum him"? Death by bumming is a bit harsh, depending on your persuasion I guess...

In a way, it's a shame Hull don't still have an outside shot of making the play-offs. I'd take Cardiff in the semi, and if we got through, I'd like Brum in the final. Blackpool should be avoided. They're a very attacking team and far too unpredictable, but as has been said, if we finish third on Saturday, we'll not win the play-offs, although of course we would deserve to...

I too would start Guly. Have De Ridder on the bench, but I suspect Adkins will go for the Cork/Morgan/Deano combination from earlier in the season.
-
Barts brain fart vs Blackpool. 2 extra points = already up.

As per the live nPC table, I'm confident that there will not be one minute of that 90 when we're in third position. Second's ours, let West Ham have five days of false hope.

You know when you have a nightmare, wake up, and are very relieved it wasn't reality? Saints 1, Coventry 2. I'd better not be having these dreams all week!
-
I think he meant the score would be 5-1!

Ooh shiny. Looks like a giant silver toilet plunger.

This.... is our play-off final. Only it's not at Wembley, we don't get a trophy for winning and the money's not so good. But still, this is our final. One cup final, two teams that could be two divisions apart next season. We will win. We have to. We will be professional.
-
Who will kiss away our pain? We're going to win on Saturday. It's obvious. (For the purposes of this thread at least...) So two questions to you - 1) Who do you WANT to be our hero, be it with a MOTM performance or a winning goal or suchlike, and 2) Who do you think WILL be our hero? Any random players? Any non-Saints players? Any manager instead of a player? For me, I would love Jos to be our hero with another goal from a corner. 8 for the season for a centre back would be immense, he'll have earned it. I do however think Sharp will be our hero, he's on a good run of goalscoring form.

West Ham are crud at home. 6-0 wins against ghey people aside... We are at home, against the worst team in the league. Morgan will be back in the starting line up.
-
Yep. In fact thr £625 I won tonight from West Ham winning is the most money I've ever won ever. So what do I do? Bank it like a sensible person? Nope, re-"invest" it in Saturday's games. I shouldn't be allowed to have money. My wages should be paid to my other half.
-
Even a double chance bet (Coventry and the Draw) is nearly 3-1. Covers every scenario.
-
We've spent 4050 minutes of the season (+injury time) in the top two. 90 more should be doable. If we finish in the play-offs, we won't win them, but more worryingly, it will probably affect our form next season.
-
After a decent win from the bookies tonight, I'm having a couple of bets on Saturday's game with my winnings. Saints and West Ham to both win as a double, (for the money), and an insurance bet on a double chance: Coventry win/Draw. Win win. (Even though I'll feel cheap and dirty if the latter happens, I can bathe myself clean in Champagne.) I still think Saints will win, but I've said that on a few occassions this season and it hasn't been true. We all expect Coventry to roll over and die, and as we all know, freak results do sometimes happen. A goal as early as Sharps against Boro should calm a few nerves...

Richer, more ******ed off.
