  1. That's how clotted cream gets made. Think about that when you next have a Devonshire Cream Tea.
  2. I'm not touching the milk, it could be from the left breast of HRH. I'm going to take a dump in St Georges Chapel too. (That'll teach the school for turning me down. True Story.) Anyone else noticed how much that cake looks like a vagina?
  3. I'm off to Windsor tomorrow to steal me some paintings from in t'castle. There'll be no-one there after all...
  4. No, I suck. (See what I did there...)
  5. Thankfully it's not what I think about who we keep, but who Adkins thinks we should keep. I'm a believer in big squads but it depends a) on what league we're in, b) who we sell and c) who we buy.
  6. I reckon it should be a sea of white and red, in that order.
  7. He is class, and will be class in the nPC. He's a victim of his own success from last season, where he scored 31 goals to his 19 this season, and that's what people pick up on. He's not a "tap in" type of striker, we're lucky we have Barnard for that.
  8. No Chamberlain? I can understand missing Hammond out of the good slot as his form wavers, but before his injury, and remember it was his first season, I'd have Chamberlain under the particularly good slot.
  9. I'm impressed you counted it.
  10. For me, the solid defence has been key to our success and excellent goal difference. I was going for Lallana but Fonte's nicked it recently.
  11. We're definitely going up. We're not the Saints of old that threw things away. We have a professional way of performing and a great will to win. (He says with unfounded confidence!) That said, I predict a last day decider. We'll thrash Brentford, but Huddersfield will beat Brighton. We'll draw at Plymouth so beating Walsall will clinch it. Mind you my predictions switch almost hourly, Brighton may just win us second spot THIS weekend, in which case a point at Plymouth makes us mathematically promoted!
  12. I hope we do pack the place out with Saints fans, but what are we going to call it? Dellhurst Park was witty, merging St Mary's Stadium with Griffin Park is a nightmare!
  13. To that end we could have Blackburn, with Kevin Davies. Sold for £7 million, we got him back for free a year later, although we did lose Ostenstadt in the process.
  14. I won't be running onto the pitch, but I might grab a girl's boob in celebration. (Without my missus seeing me do it of course...) Hasn't the club said they'd try to ban people that run on the pitch in the past?
  15. Well obviously it's not in league terms, but part of me reckons Huddersfield will win their last two, and we'll draw at Plymouth. So a draw in this match and a win at Walsall means five points to Huddersfield's six. A win, in my mind, is vital against Brentford, and as they have nowt to play for, I think we could get it.
  16. Harding was brilliant on Monday, he's a total pro, has a real determination to win and owns the left touchline when he plays. He's good offensively as well as defensively, and while he had the odd iffy game early in the season, he's rightfully been named in the team of the year. My favourite Saints player aside from Lallana, he has been a great signing.
  17. Brentford have arse all to play for so we should win this. A draw is useless. Brighton to do us a favour, but it could be a last day decider. Eek, I just want to sleep until May 8th!
  18. My missus is a Norwich fan, so I do follow what they're up to. When I go up to her familys' house, they're Norwich mad, except her uncle, who's a Leeds fan, so I'm relieved to get home to my Saints decorated castle! She'll be at the Walsall game with me, which makes Saints games she's seen this season a total of 4, Norwich games she's made is zero. My mission to convert her is firmly underway.
  19. My predictions: Southampton: Brentford (a) Saints will win this, Brentford, though tough opposition, have nothing to play for. Plymouth (a) A draw here IMO. Plymouth are still fighting for their lives, and will be tough opposition. Remember their position is false. Walsall (h) It depends how truthful my predictions are but we could go into this needing nothing, but if not we should win fairly easily. Win. Huddersfield : Brighton (a) I reckon they'll draw this. Brighton will still want 100 points, and it's their last game at the Withdean, but Huddersfield will fight. Brentford (h) They'll win this fairly easily IMO. So, it comes down to Huddersfield's result against Brighton. A draw for them will mean we could be up against Plymouth. (Although if we manage a draw against Plymouth as per my prediction, we'll still need a point against Walsall to be mathmatically safe, though goal difference should see us through.) Ergo, after all that, I think our superior goal difference will have a massive part to play in us getting second, unless we really do go and win all three games...
  20. Started "supporting" Saints in '89, though really only got into it around '94, so never seen a promotion, but witnessed two relegations, a cup win and a cup loss. That's about to change, I'm 99% sure we will go up in second.
  21. As good as, we'd be 3 points clear but with the better goal difference. Lose 4-0 to Plymouth and Walsall, and Huddersfield bang in 7 in their last game, they could go second! :-)
  22. "3 more wins and it's ours!" remarks Davis, in a state the bleeding obvious competition.
  23. Bought two tickets for Walsall for me and the missus in the Kingsland corner and they're in the Family enclosure! Bugger, when did that get moved from the Chapel?
  24. Just in. Good day out, I nearly talked myself out of it this morning as I had dodgy guts, but I shat as much as I could out and manned up. Saints won, which is good, but Huddersfield just won't lie down! I know it's in our hands, but we could use Brighton to do us a massive favour on Saturday. We weren't too convincing today though we didn't have to get out of gear, and I have seen us play much better this season. I think we may need to up our game if we want to clinch second, Plymouth and Walsall are still fighting for their lives and won't simply lie down like Hartlepool. (Who were hampered by their red card, which IMO wasn't.) Ratings as I saw it. Davis: Solid as ever, made one good save when there was a defensive mix up, his distribution is still iffy though. 6 Richardson: I thought he was awful. Didn't get forward much, didn't lift his head to see who was in front of him, seemingly always looked for the safe ball back to the centre-backs, and it was his hesistation that nearly cost us a goal. 4 Fonte: Outstanding and my MOTM. Marshalls the defence so well, meets every header and is quite the goalscorer! 9 Seaborne: Though he was quite solid, we certainly didn't miss Jaidi today, though I was a bit worried when he got booked. (As I am whenever someone get booked actually!) 7 Harding: I thought he was very good today - both defensively and offensively. He's always an outlet and has a reasonably good eye for a pass/cross. Today's performance justifies his TOTY spot. 8 Guly: I may go against the grain here, but I didn't think he was very good today. He has good tricks, and I cheered like buggery when he scored his disallowed goal in the first half, but his passing was poor. He flatters to deceive, and seemed a bit lost on the right, though I have seen him perform better. Still gets a 7 though, and probably will influence more than any other player where we finish in the League. (Just a hunch). 7 Stephens: Was ok, a lot of the play flowed through him, was solid if not spectacular. He seemed to be the defensive midfielder, allowing Hammond to roam a bit. 7 Hammond: Tried to get things to flow, I actually thought he was quite useful on the right of midfield towards the end! 7 Lallana: This wasn't his best game but luckily we didn't need him. He's still a class above though, he always looks like the player most likely to make things happen. Seems to have no ill effects from his recent injury, and was rightly rested towards the end.7 Connolly: I thought he was superb. He's always looking to win the ball, can spot a pass, and has an eye for goal. To lose Barnard and bring in a player of Connolly's class speaks volumes about our strength in depth. 8 Lambert: Without sounding toooooo controversial, I'm suprised he got MOTM. Even with a goal and an assist, I didn't think he had one of his better games. I still think he needs to get in more goalscoring positions though, he's a striker, not a midfielder. But that's just my view. 6 Subs: Forte: Looked ok when he came on: 6 Chaplow: Was full of running and positionally adequate. 7 Martin: Didn't have much to do. 6 Adkins: Lots of changes and we still won fairly comfortably. Was right to rest Lallana and Fonte. I reckon he's Midas, everything he does comes up gold. Or something... 8 Saints fans: Brilliant, in fine voice. 8 Hartlepool fans: I wouldn't want that drive to and from St Mary's, with a near certain loss and nothing to play for in the league and knowing there wouldn't be enough of you to be heard. They deserve a round of applause. Bring on Brentford, and hope Brighton do us a big, fat favour on Saturday!
  25. He's a top manager with the nous to get out of this league, as he's shown before, and I strongly think he may be about to have another promotion on his CV. Get this job done, and I'll be interested to see how we fare next season. With the managerial merry-go-round we've all experienced in the last fifteen years or so, it'd be lovely to have a long serving manager at the helm, and with the club heading in the right direction, I think Adkins will be it.
