Saints might be the biggest club, but do Pompey have the best fans?
SNSUN replied to dune's topic in The Muppet Show
Couldn't give two stuffs about Pompey's support, but thinking about our support at Wembley last season always makes me proud. A lovely sea of red and white. -
606 is toss anyway. (it's where I met my fiancee for my sins...)

Not entirely fussed. I still think we're a winger light (unless Puncheon gets his act together), and perhaps a goal scoring striker short, but the team we have should be strong enough to go up. Then there's the loan window, which may be a better route to go down - getting someone class in without the hassle of a fee, and it they shine, sign them up in the summer. Either way, there's still a week to go yet, and that's when things usually hot up.

I have my lucky MLT Corinthian figurine that I take to all the games, which is half a good luck charm and half a nervous twitch. (True) I also crack one out at Winchester services on my way to Southampton. (Not true)

A team of players produced by our academy in the last ten years.

I mis-read the OP, but I meant that we signed him young. TBF he wasn't ready for first team action when we got him, but we didn't have much choice in that relegation season. Who signed Morgan anyway? Poortvliet? -

Same principal for Morgan... -

The more I think about this, the sadder I become that we lost so many talented youngsters. I guess the team would look something like: Blayney, Baird, Crainie, Mills, Bridge, Walcott, DMG, Surman, Bale, Blackstock, Best. But it's a toughie. -
Post 16 beat you to it. :-) I'm suprised the Dell even bothered having throw ins, the fans were so close to the pitch they could've just headed it back into play. I reckon the Dell became our fortress because the opposition could smell the fans' farts.

The only thing I'm hoping for is a spirited performance and perhaps a consolation goal or three. Hence why my prediction league prediction is 6-3 to United. Can't remember why I chose that score though... My biggest worry positionally is who partners Fonte at CB. Jaidi has the Premiership experience but is slow, Seaborne is the lower league player, and Martin the youngster. I get the feeling Adkins will play Jaidi but I'd give MArtin a bash, see how he fairs.

Bart Butterfield Martin Seaborne Mills Puncheon Gobern Hammond Skacel Barnard Doble. 3-0 to Saints. Easy. In all seriousness, seriously, I think we'll get tonked, but go out showing a bit of spirit. Puncheon can get stuffed if he thinks he's playing in this game IMO. Concentrate on the League.

Still a week and a half of the transfer window to go, and then the loan window. If anything, defeat here is a good thing, it shows Adkins and Cortese that we're still weak creatively without Punch and Lallana and have time to do something about it. Fifteen minutes to go, I'll take a draw....

Another off day, simple as that. All teams have them, the problem is we shouldn't be having them at all if we want promotion. I miss our early January form. :-(

Is this commentator Andy Collins? Can't be, he's a Watford fan. Sounds like it though. Much improved second half please. I'm off for a lucky fag/wee/poo/****/coffee.* *delete as applicable.

Too early in the game for me to suggest I'd take a draw? :-)

It's deliberately trying to make me look like a cockle, because as soon as I wrote that, it connected. Better late than never I suppose. It's not the first time I've had log in problems with it, I'm on a brand new laptop and mobile broadband has excellent reception so it can't be that. Weird.

Saintsplayer is ****ing shyte. 25 ****ing minutes now I've been trying to log in with no luck. That's one cancelled subscription and one email they're getting with nothing but insults from me. Terrible service. It's all on you guys for updates and Final Score. :-(
-
Right, got this for Christmas and have been playing it since. First season, Saints went up as Champions, Rickie Lambert was shyte but Barnard was amazing. Second season, scraped the play-offs but won the final, Bebe amd Barnard were key players. Now in the Premiership and am bottom after ten games. My partnership up front is Ched Evans and Connor Wickham. I'm getting demoralised but Villa have offered me the managers job. Do I accept?

I eat in Maccy D's very irregularly when I'm being lazy - and every time I have it, I get the squits. The same applies to KFC, Subway, and Nandos, but weirdly not Burger King. Thought you'd like to know.

"Customer Service" in this country is absolutely dreadful
SNSUN replied to trousers's topic in The Lounge
My missus works in customer service on the phones for an online shop called World Stores - she's been in the job for 2 years yesterday. Yes, she hates it, but it doesn't stop her giving her all to each customer - ultimately she has to abide by the rules of the company, and can only reiterate the policies that the company have. She does want out, she's 27 and really should be looking for a proper career path, but it's fair to say that most of the people she works with in Customer Service have been there longer than she. A lot of people do come in and leave after one shift, but I think that's the same with any unskilled job, once they get a taste of hard work, they bugger off. A few of her employees are students, but they would never stick around for long, no matter what job they're in. -

I can guarantee you, if you come to my window for something, you will get a very high level of customer service.* Even my other colleagues say I help too much, but IMO if you can describe the workings of an Oyster card in 30 seconds, you're not doing it right. *(Unless I'm tired, drunk, hung over, fed up, can't be arsed, apathetic, dislike you, or if it's a Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday or Sunday. Or a Saturday, for that matter.) -
Oh I do agree, in this day and age you have to pay large ones to get the better players, but I don't think ANY player should be worth £24 million. Money in this game has gone mental in the last few years - it wasn't long ago we were all amazed at Shearer costing £15 million. The Premiership has changed a lot since we were there, it's all silly money now.

I remember watching Palace away in the relegation season. We lost 3-0 and were shyte, torn apart by Shefki Kuqi. The only player that played well that night for us was Cork. (although my Palace supporting mate said Lloyd James did ok at right back.) Cork would be a great signing for us.

Toughest test since Huddersfield. They're on form but we're on fire. If we are Champions-elect, or even just promotion candidates, we should be beating everyone. We will on Saturday, 3-1.
